This video just turned up in my feed to remind me of the age gap love story I experienced 14 years ago, 19 years difference. I was 47 when we met and had recently walked out of a bad marriage where I was not respected and valued . For many years he tried to deny it but always came back to me until I asked him to leave me alone because I knew he wanted children and I was too old for that. His family, his religion and culture all made it impossible for him but I know we had an incredibly bond which can only be explained if one believes in destiny and past lives. Love transcends the social rules of the human world.Even though we did not stay together and he went on to get married and have children, I am grateful he showed me I could be loved unconditionally. His love put me on a path of greater self-esteem and self-confidence. After I set him free I achieved a lot professionally and saw the world, on my own. Thank you for telling your story.You were both veey strong and it can inspire other people who are struggling to accept their love. 🙏

This is not done how it was. Marilyn was 44 and the boy was 15 when they started out. Just think if it was young girl with old man. I saw interview done of Marilyn who was then 52, William was 22, you can clearly see he is little slow in the head, not like the William in this movie very clever and articulate.

There is an article that stated I was 15 which was clearly untrue. I met her at 16.
However, that's the British media for you printing lies on repeat.
The point of this film was to set the record straight and tell our truth.

Amazing video. Thought I would watch few mins but once I started I could not stop. I thought the acting and chemistry was great. Sometimes you meet someone who you wouldn't expect to fall for initially but the friendship develops and you get each other like nobody else.

I love two actors who played Jerry and William's mother, playing it to the hilt as over the top villains from a Guy Ritchie film. I love anytime Jerry came on screen, he had the same music playing like a panto villain lol. Also two actresses who played the lead character's sisters also going all Eastenders with it. But it made the film more fun for me how over the top the side characters played it. Even the son was made to be a scumbag.
Two leads were fine and at least kept it grounded while the side characters ate the scenery. I find it funny that people in the film were making Marta Casado playing Marliyn sound like she was all old and done. When she was most beautiful person in it lol.
I liked the film for what it was. Happy you guys get to live happily that's all you can ask for.

Why would any woman put up with a husband like hers? Threaten me for wanting a divorce and I might start considering other options, most of which would be far less pleasant.
And as for there being age limits on who you can have as your friends, I've always had friends of all ages, some older, some younger even by decades. Age hasn't got much to do with making human connections.

It's funny that men get to be with much younger women without it being an issue and also arranged marriages where young wome.n have to marry old men. But as soon as it's the other way round is a completely different story. Society is messed up
Yes I fully agree with you. But interestingly my point of “contention” with this relationship is not so much the age gap.but their falling for each other while she was still married, and him being her sons friend. Sure her husband was an abusive jerk but is still wrong to string a young dude along while being in a complicated relationship. She should have focused more on leaving the man and maintaining her health instead and learnt to get on her own two feet first. It would have been different had she been just a single older woman who fell for a younger dude.

When you are vulnerable unfortunately these things happen , when you are being abused especially, you are not in your right mind at all, you don't think straight and on top of it you have chronic disease. It doesn't make it right , but I do get it. I would have done the same if I were her.

How do we know if true love, especially given the circumstances which it all happened. It might be waaay more romantic if it these were 2 happy-go-lucky singles who found love and the age gap story will have way more power. Heheh.
