@@SeaSpankerOutdoorsit was a lifeline kayak, I’m not sure the exact model but I got it off Facebook and it came with a lot of goodies. Three rod holders, a net, a live bait holder, and little dolly to stroll the kayak. Only for 250
I have the 136, never regretted, I converted a $400 Harbor Freight trailer for about $550. Best $$ I have spent on fishing. They did improve, they have a Peddle/motor drive, abut $$$$$$$$$ Thanks for the video
I just sold my boat and bought a second 120. I almost got a 136 but I knew if I had 2 different sizes Id have a problem deciding which one to take out each day and then id have to set the new one up with all the gear I have on the first one lol
That sounds nice, but nothing compares to having a river by the house on a wild trout stream. It's amazing to see stocked fish laying eggs and creating a thriving ecosystem. The best part? No one uses jigs. I used to live in California, but I got tired of the seasonal trout fishing every six months-it got boring since the trout would just die off. A kayak can be useful in lakes, but a stream is quintessential for trout fishing. It's practically a trademark for trout: wild, cold streams are as authentic as it gets! #toEachTheirOwn
Sounds awesome. Im hoping to move outta state in the next few years 🤞. Este and I have a trip planned in august that should provide some content along those lines 🤘
Fr Rob, If you work for the state and receive a pension, moving to a lower-cost state could help you save more money compared to living in Southern California. The cost of living there, from groceries to income tax deductions, is incredibly high. It's tough for the middle class to catch a break in California, regardless of who's in office!
This is the most comprehensive video I've seen and I'm sure it took some time and thought in putting this together. So much to accessorize and the $$! I'm considering of getting an Hobie itrek 9, but love that Autopilot. I'm torn! Appreciate you sharing your setup.
Thanks I appreciate it. That Hobie is a cool little boat for sure. Id like to try one out sometime. The only issue I can think of with that platform is wind. With the waves washing over it if be afraid of loosing gear but in calm weather I bet its a blast
I actually just bought a second 120 and was looking at the 136 but for what I do and at my size the 120 is plenty big. Id be looking more at the 136 if I did more ocean stuff for sure
Hey Rob, haven't ran into you this past season at the Mud Hole or Hesperia Lake. But anyways, I was just wondering if you have to get the kayak registered (like a boat) with DMV? I know the trailor has to get registered tho.
Yes. Any watercraft with a motor has to be registered. Good news is its a fairly simple process and there are lots of videos on RUclips that show you how to do it 🤘
I already have my card as I used to own a boat but Im not totally sure if you need one for the yak. Im leaning toward yes since it has a motor and is registered
Ok, I did more research. Turns out you dont need one for a motorized kayak as long as the motor is less than 15HP. Those trolling motors are nowhere near 15HP
The remote is seriously not waterproof? W-T-F? That is some terrible engineering. Something very likely to get wet and/or submerged no matter how careful you are. Especially on a Yak.
Yeah I think its the one thing they overlooked when changing the motor around for a yak. Probably a huge expense to minn kota as the trolling motors with spot lock were originally designed for boats. That will probably be a future upgrade haha
This is perfect because I literally just got a fishing kayak
Awesome. Yak fishing is a blast. Which yak did you get?
