I can’t imagine how many times I’ve watched this over the years. Hands down my favorite KEXP session ever. And this album is in my top 3 of all time.
It’s just so damn dreamy. And timeless! Shana is an artist to be cherished.

Best stuff I've heard in ages, totally captivating. Great to see a drummer who can use his drumkit properly. Superb.

By the way, 2019's Night of the Worm Moon is beautiful.

fantastic drumming/percussion….he reminds me of the drummer from the Doors…and some of the Doors sounds run through this music…at least in my head.
Sean Meister Yeah, the guitar solo in the first song definitely reminds me "The End". Awesome band!
Shana has a knack for finding amazing drummers. Marian Li-Peno who plays with her in La Luz is similarly amazing on the drums.

I think I prefer Shana's other band La Luz to this project.

+Ten Craftsmen +charlie wired I agree with Charlie, each to their own. i feel like you get more of a personal glimpse of Shana's being in this. you can hear it in her music. But I'm huge fan of La Luz as well.

In terms of quality there's no difference between the two, in terms of musical style La Luz and The Sandcastles are a world apart. I'm enjoying both in equal measures
They’re both great. It totally makes sense to have an outlet for the more upbeat stuff and the more chill stuff like this.
