I just rode this bike yesterday and it blew my mind I haven’t rode a 250f for close to ten years. I’ve been bike shopping lately and thought I still needed a 450 or at least a 350 KTM for a guy my size but now I want to ride all the 250f’s first because it was more than enough bike for an old weekend warrior like me. I’ve heard that the Yamaha is even more of a rocket so I’d like to ride that next.
@@Davido50 I don’t think any bike is really better these days they all are pretty good but I can’t wait to ride one and see. No one I know has one and I haven’t seen any brand new ones out at tracks in my area yet either to ask for a go on. I’ve always bought Honda’s and Yamaha’s I thought I was going to have to buy a KTM because that’s all that’s available near me lately but westside power sports said I can order a CRF or YZ 250 and have it in a month or less but a 450 is unknown delivery for both.
@@jonruger hey mate Ive got the ‘22 crf250r. I went down from a 450. Ive never had a 250 before either but it was the best move ive ever made. I’m a much better rider on this bike where on the 450 I was barely holding onto it ….way too much power for the average joe. Just my 2 cents
@@cooganbeggs4942 that’s my thoughts exactly I bought the CRF250 and it honestly is faster than my 05 CRF450 was and I feel more confident and ride better on it than I ever did on any 450. It’s made me a better rider I wish more people would try a 250 first unless your a pro racer you do not need the bigger bike at all.
So the Honda motor doesn't have as much over-rev/top end. If a rider needs that, can an exhaust system replacement fix that? Also, on a tight MX track or a SX track, that probably doesn't come into play (after the start)? What a gorgeous bike. Thanks for the video 👍 PS: I realize that these shootout reviews are meant for out-of-the crate comparisons, and that is both logical and the right thing to do. It would be cool for you guys to do a review of bolt-ons that correct the issues you outline (none sponsored/unbiased).
Great idea, as in the past you see shootouts that lower a bike's position because they didn't like the handlebar bend or grips, which can be easily and cheaply changed by the rider.

Thanks for breaking down the details. Good to know how the changes on paper really play out on the track. 🔥💪
My kid loves his 2022 Honda, it’s his 1st four stroke
Going to buy the CRF

We do lots of project bikes and product reviews following Shootouts.
@@vitalmx Looking forward to 22' model mods. Thanks!
I agree a shoot out a couple months Later with a few targeted mods for each bike would be very well received 👍
Honda has excellent trackion Suzuki likes to fly high on jumps.
Can’t wait to see the red riders kick the fields ass this year!
So do you think as a playrider/vet would last years bike with a 270 kit be a better option as then you have power everywhere???
Even with a 270 kit, it doesn’t have the same low to mid character this bike does. We’d lean towards the new model for the vet option.
HONDA OLD IRON
dirtbike and motociclismofuoristrada(italy) show 4 horsepower less than others😵😵😵😵
Ours was a little down on the KTM and Yamaha but not near that far off.
