Your introduction regarding guys have never bothered me. Its a term in the uk that now is used to apply to both male and female and this does irritate me greatly when they always refer to everyone as guys. Like so many other modern references . woke culture. GRRRR. Modern rubbish speak.(i can speak rubbish with the best of them).I could go on but i won't. But you my friend i could never be offended by reference to guys. I thought the alternative friends was well put.
The opel 4x4 was sold in the UK as the Vauxhall Frontera. In the early days they suffered a lot of issues with the engines as i recall and they suffered very badly. i think it was burnt engine valves?
    The Escort mk2 is nice.
I was out in the xjs the other day and passed a Prelude a rare sight. He gave me the thumbs up and i waved back.
Always like the look of the Cougar.

Someone complained about the "hello guys" to me - I'm thinking it was my brother 🤣
At the next classic car meeting I was saying "hello my friends" which is definately gender neutral for sure.
The Opel 4x4 was also called Frontera here. The smaller one with 3 doors was the Opel Frontera Sport. Surprisingly I was even seeing one yesterday at the Retro Classics expo - but I only took fotos there. There were way too many people to seriously film something. The filming day is usually on Thursday but then I had to buy my Jag, hehe.
Later there was even coming another white Ford Escort Mk2 - they parked together. Great view and over here really a rare view. Although the Escorts have been so popular back then but it seems like the most people do remember their Volkswagen Golf in all generations and the Opel Kadett C (Chevette).
Preludes are also rare here. Sometimes I am seeing one at the Classics & Coffee in Stuttgart. Yesterday at the Retro expo I was seeing another one. Also really very nice looking coupes. But the Japanese classics are also very rare in general. It seems like the most people tend to get a German, US, British or French classic.

@@BFDdrives Does that make you feel proud to now say I own a Jag? I have to say of all my cars it has never ceases to amaze me how much attention my car gets whenever i go out.. Particularly female attention (the ability to snap nicker elastic at 100 yards). I should have bought one years ago.

@@TipTopMotors. I definately feel proud to own my first Jaguar. And what I also figured out after reading comments on X-Type videos is that the reputation of the car is much better by the people who own them. I've seen plenty of people commenting it's the most reliable car they ever had. Of course it also has some typical problems but if you take care it's no problem. The more I read then the more I wanted one. Then well, of course the Rover 75 and MG ZT also appeared on my list after I saw them in one of your videos of a classic car show. In last summer I also had a nice chat with a guy from Austria who appeared at the repair shop for a quick repair on a Saturday because something from the panels under the engine bay was getting lose during his trip. And he told me also how satisfied he is with his car. I can remember when I took a look into the inside and I was like "This doesn't look like a Ford Mondeo - definately a Jaguar".
The X-Type - as same as the Rover 75 and MG ZT - are designwise definately the best of the time. When I'm comparing it with a Mercedes-Benz C-class W202 and W203, or a Mercedes-Benz E-class W210 from that time, or even the BMW 3-series and 5-series then the interior is looking way more ordinary compared to the Jaguar, Rover and MG. Also of course the retro dessign of the exterior is outstanding.
What I find most fascinating right now is that it is even such an early Jaguar X-Type. Not sure if the car will also draw as much attention like my Audi 80 or my white Mercedes E230 W210 back then. The 2016 Fiat 124 Spider was drawing so far the most attention. But so far only dudes, haha, no female attention. But for sure an elegant convertible is of course more a female magnet than a sporty saloon, hehe. But who knows, maybe some young women will think I'm a sugar daddy, lol. I am just waiting for the first person asking me if I'm rich because owning a Jaguar XJ (it's like Porsche Cayman owners get asked about their 911, lol).

@@BFDdrives When people(not you) make the comment their just a Mondeo it just stinks of jealousy. Its a Jag and that's the end of it. I like the X type more than the s type. They are like a baby xj6 much like the Mercedes 190 they were lovely cars. Again people talk about the Aston Martin DB7 and say its just a Jag. Rubbish its an Aston and that's all there is to be said. It just means you can buy some jaguar parts for your Aston than buying Aston parts at a more inflated price because the box says Aston. I think it been an early car makes it more interesting particularly as you said it was registered as a dealer car sounds like a launch vehicle. I hope you will be doing a video to show it to us and would look forward to that.

@@TipTopMotors. Very well said Glyn! It's a Jag. not a Mondeo. Although some parts are shared which actually isn't even a bad thing. Like you said you can buy some parts with another brand on the box but at the end its still not the same car. From what I read only the underbody and some parts especially in the engine bay are from Ford - but Jaguar did even modify a lot of the technic. And on the other hand no one is complaining about Audi being a premium Volkswagen. So like you're saying ... Jaguar is Jaguar!
I also like rather the X-Type than the S-Type. The Baby XJ look suits the car really very well. I always liked the XJ series.
The Baby Benz also has been a great car - and nowadays so popular as a classic. People are loving it.
That it is an early car makes it really very interesting to me. I didn't think a lot about it when I bought it - just later when I was checking the details because I always had in mind it's a 2002 but then I've noticed it that it could be perhabs a launch vehicle. I hope I'll get an answer from Jaguar about it - if they still know something about the car.
I'm planning to do a video of it. For sure I'll also bring it up once (and more) to the Classics & Coffee in Stuttgart - mostlikely when it is unclear if the weather stays dry because rain is something my Audi doesn't like anymore due to a bad sealing in one tail light that I can't change since the painter did glue it on the body.
