I feel like a scopecam could have improved this video by a lot. Pretty much the whole video just watching you hold a rifle and can’t see any of what’s happening on the range either. Most of us are watching this on a five inch screen. So we got the benefit of your research, but I think it would have had more impact if we had the feeling of being able to experience it ourselves. Appreciate all your work.

@@PSNGamer It absolutely blows the Strike Eagle out of the water. The Razor Gen 2 is a more apt comparison and even then I'd give the edge to the ACSS because the reticle is just that good.

No disrespect intended. But I think it is funny when people say 4 power is a limited range. I remember being in the Army and having to qualify with irons, wishing I had a scope to help with the 300. Then I eventually got issued an M16 with an aimpoint dot. Then an M4 the an aimpoint. The dot was a step up, but still no magification. Once I got used to it, I definitely fired better. One time, we had a particularly long day at the range and a lot of ammo to use. My rifle started jamming from all the fire, even after quick cleaning and lubing. So my 1SG made me use his rifle to keep shooting. His had a 2 power ACOG. It may not have been much, but damn did the magnification make a difference. Don't get me wrong, I understand that the 6X's magnification helps much more. I also understand that at the end of the day, it comes down to shooter discipline. But I have a different view on the ACOG. If it is a mid to long range rifle such as the AR platform, I would say that any magnification is helping more than limiting. Still, love your vids. Always informative!

But it's nice and clear glass, crisp reticle, bright illumination in red or green, and great for shooting up close with both eyes open, too. I'll probably pick up another.

I got the "cheap" PA 1-8 ACSS. Mounted on a Chilean military Imbel FAL built on a CAI upper receiver using a DSA mount. Shot a 24" gong on a mountainside at ~775 yards, standing with rifle supported on my SUV's spare tire. Ammo: 1973 Indian 7.62x51 surplus 147 ball. Fantastic scope transformed the FAL, even with what is not considered very high quality ammo.

Just a casual observation but I have these exact scopes on 2 AR-15s one is a 14.5 BCM and that rifle with this exact ACOG will hold paper plate size groups at 600 yards with the ACOG. It will honest to God shoot 8-10 inches or less at 600 even when hot. The ticket is I shoot quality 77gr matchkings. I don’t even fool with the close up zero I just get close and take it straight to 300 and 400 yards. Once you get it dead on at 300 everything else lines right up! The reason I brought this up is because those 77s are much less affected by wind I have no where near the wind issues that Eric and Chad are with that particular ammo. I don’t even use 62 anymore not for anything I don’t even own it because it is trash. There are better and worse SS109 projectiles but they are nothing to write home to mom about no matter who made them. That penetrator really screws with stability past 300-400 yards it is honestly a 2 MOA projectile at BEST!

the ggg nato ball costs about 380€ per 1000round box where i live (austria) and for being just plain factory ammo it holds pretty good groups (2 inches at 100 meters just with a reddot on my friends AUG)

If you are using ACSS reticle why not just use the much cheaper PA ACSS 1-8 scope at $389 instead of the Platinum scope at $1300? A saving of $911 is more scope and ammo else where. Platinum is great for dialing up and down but ACSS is set and forget. Assuming the cheaper 1-8 zero will not drift once set.

Press Shop Greater the vertical Height and Angle, the less the actual distance. If you are shooting at a given distance, then shoot from a vertical position, it can require less MILs. That is why an Angle Cosine Gauge is a vital accessory on an ELR setup.

I have a 2-8x vortex diamondback HP and a 1-8x primary arms acss (cheap version).. There is no comparison on how useable the acss reticle is compared to the Vortex.. They are the same price optic, but the acss is worth 2x as much IMO.. I have no trouble out to the 500yd mark at my range with the acss, but the vortex is not marked and leaves you in "no mans land" with any sort of wind hold, with no ranging capabilities..

I'd really like to see the prism 3x vs the acog go head to head see if the pa prism is a tuff and rugged as the acog drops slaps hits. We all know the 1200 bucks for the acog is rugged as a tank but can the prism take the same abuse

This shows that LMT piston AR is damn accurate.

If you haven't already you should make an AR wildcat cartridge video comparing several, like .277 wolverine, 7 raptor, .25-45 sharps ect...

I was just wondering how a Palmetto Defense lower with a Accu- trigger mounted with the Adams Arms 11.5" Voodoo barrel with a pinned and welded faux moderator would do using the ACSS reticle in ACOG and the 1-8 scope you used for this video would do out to some of the ranges you were shooting. I only ask because I have this setup and am using a NcStar 2-8x28 mil-dot and am getting 1" groups at 200yds. I know everyone is laughing at me hard right now but isn't that sub moa accuracy? I ordered the stripped lower and used a DPMS parts kit with the exception of the trigger. The trigger is a polymer setup from a full polymer lower that broke at the back where the buffer tube screws in from a 2" drop on carpet! So I sought some advice for a good lower and was told to go with Palmetto Defence instead of Palmetto Armory and it mates up to the Adams Arms upper gloriously. It is a very tight fit and the only thing I can think of is that the tight fitting of the lower and upper combined with the 11.5" barrel which is very thick doesn't allow much barrel whip giving it its accuracy. It's also a 1:7 twist and I am shooting 75gr. Privvy Partisan ammo that is Match King bthp. I get the same result from M855 62gr. LAP PMC X-TAC PMC rounds at 2920 FPS. Any chance of trying it out?

I'm considering buying the Primary Arms FFP ACCS reticle offa Amazon to try out. It's $400 without a mount.. and Iits aboit twice what I can even begin tk afford to spend. However ide really like to compare it to the Monstrum 1-6x FFP with their MOA whatever reticle... I really wish Monstrum would make a FFP 1-6/1-8x LPVO with the ACSS reticle for like $275 with the one peice mount... That would rock.

if you had a 20" barrel do think u would have had a little more accuracy and precision connecting at 600 yards using the acog?

Wow that’s really good shooting with a for power optic out to that distance that’s really good. I actually own the 1to 6 x 24 PA scope. I actually have two of them one set up on my AK-47 and one set up on my Keltec 5.56 bullpup

Can you test the 70 grain barns vor-tex ammo will that reticle. I have a 24" barrel on my AR an they shoot amazing groups with a velocity of 3075 fps. Wanted to see if that reticle would work with the 70 grain pill.
