NOTE TO THE COMMENT WARRIORS (OF COURSE USE A TARP AND GROUND PAD)
just because it wasn't shown as part of this demonstration doesn't mean you need to go without. For ### sake...
I AM VERY AWARE SOME PEOPLE USE HAND WARMERS INSIDE THE SLEEPING BAG. THERE ARE MANY OTHER METHODS,, OF WHICH THIS IS JUST ONE OF...
    # Hand warmers are single use, that need to be purchased every time you require additional warmth, and only focus warmth in one area at a time, and cool down after a few hours.
IF ALL YOU WANT TO SEE ARE TECHNIQUES ALREADY WELL KNOWN TO EVERYONE AND THEIR DOG PLEASE WATCH ANY OTHER CHANNEL THAT JUST REPEATS THE SAME OLD THING.
2024 may feature only well known methods, ( I call sheepole Sundays ) and the Friday videos of alternative thinking will be the domain for the private paying members only. 2024 vote to follow.

    Thanks again great advice,
Love that buffalo bag. Bex quick question please is the main reason, fleece and feather is better for us cold sleepers, down to they both wick moisture away and synthetic bags don’t. Also do these feather and fibre pile help retain body heat better? Are there other reasons as well. Struggled to keep warm during the cold hours for years with the 90 ptn sleeping bag or a snugpak bag. Just wondering if this is the main reason why ?

To be honest I can only speak from my own findings as a cold sleeper. I find (Down feathers) loft a lot better, making a larger air space to trap body heat, and fleece retain body heat in the fibres. Synthetic insulation is only warm for (ME) if it is thick, and modern synthetic insulation are often paper thin but claim high warmth. Fleece is warm when wet, so no worries about condensation, as where feathers will fail to insulate when wet. The best synthetic insulation for me is Climashield Apex. Apex will (loft) and become thick, therefore trap warm air, and is the best alternative, Apex is light / warm when wet /and light / compact. Apex and fleece can be stowed in your pack for prolonged periods of time without compromising the insulation, unlike other synthetics and down.
Just a quick heads up, sleeping bags like the Carinthia are not that great for clod sleepers, but warm sleepers swear by them, as these people assume we all sleep at the same temperature.
Remember there are other alternatives to sleeping bags, such as quilts and blankets too.
Off the record a 16.5 Tog duvet inside a Gore-Tex bivvy bag works, and is no bigger or heavier than any other synthetic winter sleeping bag. Think back to when we were kids and how cosy and warm we were, when we didn't own a sleeping bag, 16.5 Tog single Duvet are about £30. For most viewer this would be a stretch too far, as they are trapped by thinking inside the box.
Best tip, don't over load your pack, cater for being warm and dry, and give your self the ability to cook /see in dark /have a wash / and carry a meds kit, anything else in over kill. I will do a Duvet wild camp in the new year to prove this method...bex

Mr Bex, thank you for making this video❤. I am interested in all things bivy related. Will you please help clarify something for me.
In the beginning of the video you show a text across the screen " The correct method is to use the blanket on the outside of the the bivy bag" yet you put the Grabber blanket inside the bivy bag. What am I missing here? Do you mean non-breathables on the outside and breathables inside the bivy?
    Thank you before hand.

Yes, absolutely, although that very thing was clarified as a caption during the video, which could be paused at any time. There is a chance your sleeping bag will condensate. (BUT MY SLEEPING BAG IS DESIGNED TO BE WARM WHEN WET.) because it has a micro fibre Aqua-therm fleece quick drying lining. A (Down feathered sleeping bag) will fail to insulate when damp, hence my warning not to replicate this with lesser insulation.
So why don't I use the Grabber blanket on the outside of my bivvy then...????
      Answer...
My grabber blanket is rescue orange and would be easily spotted while attempting to remain stealthy. A green Grabber blanket could be pegged out over my sleeping bag in lieu of a Gore-Tex bivvy also, I just haven't got a green one yet.
A Gore-Tex bivvy bag will also attract a layer of frost, which in turn will ingress to the sleeping bag, thus chilling your bag quicker, a reflective blanked between your bivvy and sleeping bag will prevent that frost ingress..
      Happy trails...
