  • Welcome to today's video. Today I am going to show you how I made a reflective insulation sleeping pad.
I bought a roll of Reflectix 2m2 insulation, it about 8mm thick .
I bought a roll 24inches x 62 feet . I made each pad 6 feet long and taped two pieces together, so that it can be used as a sleeping pad or a sleeping bag.
Remember to put the shiny side towards your skin for best heat reflection.
Make one and give it a try , it can be used for backpacking, for in your vehicle or you can hand them out to people that are homeless.

Good idea, but you can tape it with foil tape and tie it together with a bungee cord

Bought some Reflectix from Home Depot, has a problem, the plastic air bubbles are made with thin & weak plastic, when I put my knee on the pad the bubbles pop rendering it useless. Have you had any experience with the Heavy Duty 5/16 Reflectix pad.

I just rolled a piece out on my floor and kneeled on it with both knees. I didn't hear or feel any popping. It is worth a try. I hope this helps .
