The past is there and it happened and it cannot be undone but these kinds of parks only highlight one section of the history and the other side is minimized and made to look insignificant , all the good parts are left out on purpose like the fact that Chris Barnard and the development of the towns by the supposed bad colonialists and apartheid racists . If it was not for their presence and hard work then I would love to see what South Africa would have become or even looked like today . All of those statues are carrying weapons so my question is do we want to live in a society where the weapon suppresses people or is used to settle disagreements . The country should rather be showing people that symbolize those values and not those of the weapon being the method .
