- In this episode we look back on the 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon. The Gunners produced a dominant first half, but it was a late first half penalty that gave us the lead at the break. We analyse the key moments of the opening 45, from the potential red card to the missed chances to the award of the spot kick. Then we look at a second half where Leandro Trossard scored again, but was there a touch of good fortune about Bournemouth's disallowed goal which would have made the game more uncomfortable? Declan Rice's performance merited a goal and he got it late on, and we also answer listener questions about whether he should be used as an 8 more than a 6, potential changes to the coaching staff, the Gabriel Jesus story James wrote last week, some #ANGEOUT, and lots more.

Whatever happens, I am so so proud of this team. Win or not, no one can say that we rolled over. That is all I wished for all those years where players did not play for Arsenal. Thank you, Arteta, and Thank you to the Kroenke for the support to the manager.
Ur opinion only rains true if we go to old Trafford and win 🏆 BUT I concur on ur sentiment fingers crossed 🤞
Let's here you thank Saliva and Saks for their service if in two years they leave for a team capable of winning trophies like Cole Van Nistleroy and Fabregas who all left for trophies. Or the could do a Kane at Spurs and stay and win nothing just be nearly men....don't think so
And recall those days of Mustafi,Andre Santos and Jecks we come a long way
I see the penalty incident (and similar ones) like this: the keeper flies at Havertz in an attempt to win the ball, which he fails to do. If he collides with Havertz it's a foul. The onus therefore is not on Havertz to dodge the in-sliding goalkeeper, because doing so will cause him to lose the attacking opportunity. It cannot be the attacker's responsibility to dodge potential fouls if doing so means they lose their attacking advantage. If I swing my fist at someone's head and they "leave their head in for contact" it does not change the fact that I've punched them in the head. Furthermore the alternative is that we ask referees and VAR officials to read the players' minds when we see a borderline case, as if "intent" can be deduced from a slow-motion clip of a footballer running and tripping over.
Havertz did not ave to dodge the keeper, if he just kept going there is no contact. He actually had to adjust his gait to make the contact. Like someone swinging a punch intentionally short of your head but you move your head towards it in the hope that it hits you. I watched Rooney do it for years and hated it, it's gamesmanship and I personally don't like it.
@@SueMyChinWhat are we doing here? If someone swings a punch, that person automatically is in the wrong. It doesn’t matter if the other person chooses to walk straight into the punch. Do not give the ref or in this case the police a decision to make.
@@paulosadebay5620 "If someone swings a punch, that person automatically is in the wrong" - It's a metaphor. It's not to be taken literally.
Read the OP. In football you are not automatically in the wrong for trying to win the ball. The keeper tried to win the ball. Kai turned it into a foul. I don't like it. Are you going to tell me I'm wrong for not liking it?
@@SueMyChin I not really fussed about what u like or don’t like. All I know is that if a goalkeeper comes rushing out, he better get the ball otherwise he gives the ref a decision to make if there’s contact between him and the player. The other way around is if a keeper is trying a catch a ball from mid air and a player touches the keeper, it’s a foul.
@@paulosadebay5620 garbage.
Arteta needs to take cup competitions seriously and deliver major silverwares next season.
we had brentford, west ham and freaking liverpool drawn this season mate chill out. how else bench players are going to sneak in 1 11 if "Arteta needs to take cup competitions seriously and deliver". Fuck cups no one, give them to Nelsons, ESRs, Vieiras
62 years supporting The GUNNERS .
I'm immensely proud of the current team .
At the present rate Mikel will eclipse any other Arsenal managers and that's some going in itself. So thank you to everyone at Arsenal and all the fantastic support NORTH LONDON FOREVER.
At 62 years you should really already know that it's LONDON forever, not just NORTH London.
Biggest club in the city and originally from South; North only gets mentioned because of the spuds pest.
How can he eclipse any other Arsenal Manager at the going rate when he has yet to win the epl 4 years in?
Second I can cope with as long as we put at least 8 past Utd to pay them back for that loss a few years back.
I am doing my bit to reverse curse us.
When my Girlfriend asked me "what do you want for your birthday" , I said "A day out together doing something enjoyable", and now she says she's booked something for May 19th...the last day of the season. Trust me when I say it's not tickets for the game, so chances are that Arsenal will be winning the league while I'm enjoying the matinee performance of "Mean Girls, the Musical"
Trust me you won't miss Arsenal winning the league it won't happen !
James you cannot debate if it's a yellow or a red - it's an absolutely textbook red card in every possible aspect. It's very high, very studs up, nowhere near the ball (late) and the leg is straight at the moment of impact; like it's actually the epitome of a dangerous, red card challenge, such that it could literally be the case study for referee training.
Please don't downplay challenges like this. They're genuinely *dangerous* & are explicitly red cards for this reason. I'd honestly rather get a cheeky hand to the face like Romero on Ødegaard (also red) than be on the end of a challenge like this any day.
Disagree! You watch it in real time, yes the boot is high but he's going for a high ball. Challenge was genuine attempt at the ball and didn't look reckless in real time. Obviously watching it in slow mo and Saka's scar makes it look a red. Game should not be re-officiated in slow mo.
We've gotta push on next year. This year is not over yet, but I'd want us to keep these levels for 2-3 more years and definitely win a couple majors. I'll take one UCL in the next 3 years if it means 3 fewer league titles
DJ Arseblog! Haha hilarious intro
The Raya/Solanke incident, there’s a reverse camera angle where you can clearly see Solanke hooking Raya’s arm before he attempts to catch the ball. Solanke had no intention of challenging for the ball.
GOODLY MORNING
WE’RE WINING THIS TITLE
West ham spurs Fulham you think these wankers are going to get up they are on the beach
I didn't watch the game but why is it that in all the highlights there is so much footage of Bournemouth's disallowed goal but none of ours? Are all disallowed goals not equal?
No to Bruno at anything over 60m
Have you guys seen timber,s twin brother play? He can play both the 6 and the 8 roles very well and is full of the energy required to fit into arteta,s system.
Please do a sound clip from 47:48 that was freaking hilarious and I really want to post it on my social media account
James & Andrew, saying Havertz has kept to his running path is fine. But Havertz doesn't maintain his normal stride, he drags his foot along the ground. Havertz is not impeded in anyway.
If situation was reversed they will be screaming for a pen
Imagine a season end with both the teams standing side by side: the Invincibles, and the.. Impossibles? Trophies on both sides? Sigh. Fingers bleeding crossed still.
Love it to be Bukayo Saka, our very own Star Boy 💫🤩
Great show gentlemen and like you James I switched off after the first goal for city and I think we wont see City losing the remaining games the City remaining fixture teams have nothing to play for and we will be 2nd. but if we are given the league over the last two years years due to the punishments given to City would you be happy or might you be not as victorius.
and if as a minimum we buy a world class cf and midfielder and a class winger I think we will dominate the league for the next 5 years
If you think that isn't a PK on Kai than what the heck were the two "super soft" PK given to City?? Player kicks opponents foot and KDB trips over 18 yard box line.
10:00 wasn't given as a foul or advantage. It was restarted as a drop ball
Regarding the potential red card; on Match of the Day, they said the referee's reason for not giving a card was that 'he didn't see it'. ISN'T THAT WHAT VAR IS FOR?
@43:25 - I agree West Ham got no chance to beat Man City away at their ground!
Partey brings chaotic elements to the team? That was a strange take right there. I know we don't like him anymore, but come on.
Saka 🦄 to score a worldie in last game of year.
A studs up tackle weather dangerous or not is a RED CARD EVERY TIME. FOR US OR AGAINST US. You couldnt complain.
This team, coach, and everyone else involved are still a few years off their peak. Whatever happens this year - and I think it’s us in second place - we’ve barely started. Great times to be a Gooner.
Manager
I'm sorry to say james, but this guys injuries are totally unproven. For such an important set of fixtures we just can't rely on him being able to carry the burden of karma baiting. You wouldn't throw dowman on against united!
So let's get back to the brainstorming with JB and put our faith in the man whose injuries we can trust.
#injuriesforvictories #spursyisawayoflife #opportunitytodothefunniestthingever
If we can win our last two matches, and City still win the league, I'll take my hats off to them. My one hundred and fifteen hats.
Bruno G is obviously better 8 than Dec. Dec is obviously better 6 than Bruno G.
Toilet ducks have come to roost!! 😂😂😂
Serious question. Considering the (busllshit) "Arsenal bottled it" narrative last year; if CIty DO drop points and Arsenal win their last 2, will we have to listen to "City bottled it" rather than people fully appreciating how good Arsenal have been?
No because bottling isn't just about failing/losing a lead but the manner of it - in no world are Pep Guardiola's city going to bottle it, even if they do drop points.
Bottling is from 'losing your bottle' and bottle is nerve/courage or composure; contrary to belief amongst football fans, it's actually a VERY specific concept.
@@kunimitsune177 ok then if that's the case then why when Arsenals star defender becomes injured and the losses coincide was it considered bottling. Surely the manners of it was to do with a major injury, which tbf most people predicted at start of season (that the squad wasn't big enough to compete with city)..why does it change to "bottling" after over achieving in the earlier stages of the season before Injuries caught up?
👍👍
ange IN mate😂😂
and we're going ít withoút cheating ❤ arsenal tíll í díé

Cows don't roost!
@@Arseblog The Roosting Angus breed did. Caused a lot of roof damage so they were hunted to extinction. Also they were hard to milk.
