Best for purchasing is tied between 30 foot wooden and 42 foot steel frame.
Best in class for tons by foot is 41 foot ribbed, which can hold 1.28 tons per foot of train, which is especially helpful if you have small sidings, and need to run

35ft wooden:
$20 per ton
0.86 tons per foot
42ft steel frame:
$20 per ton
0.95 tons per foot
41ft steel:
$21.11 per ton
1.02 tons per foot
41ft ribbed steel:

@@dhtrainz4798 Now that they pushed out this patch I'm looking forward to new buildings/scenery. There are placeholders in a few spots that just need filling out.

I think that passenger rating works differently than you phrased. If you skip a previously serviced station, you'll get penalty, but if you don't visit that station for more than 10 days, the penalty is lifted.

also on the map if you enlarge it you can now change switchs and it shows you on map which track is set for
