- This is a full-length, detailed demonstration on how I fabricate feather hoops with sterling silver. I would love to hear how it goes when you give it a try. Please feel free to leave a comment or ask a question below. Enjoy!
Very nice. Liked the way you reduced the thickness of the edges with the cutting disc. Thanks for the tips and sharing your knowledge. Cheers Jim
Just made these. I used a diamond bur and I don’t think it was deep enough. Thank you, Nicole, for sharing your expertise with those of us who aspire to someday work at the level you are
!
These are some of the most realistic silver feathers I have seen made on various tutorials. Thank you so much for including the gauge of sheet and wire, saw blade size, and product numbers. I will definitely be making some feathers.
Fabulous! Let me know how it goes!
RUclips recommended this video. The beautiful earrings drew me in. But the whole demonstration, video production, quality, clarity… totally won me over. Thank you so much, Nicole!
Thank YOU!

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing the details!
I am rewatching this video again. As you know, I absolutely love your work. I’m curious when you’re using your flux brush what type of brush are you using? Or is it even a brush? I like how the flux spreads evenly. Thanks Michelle
They are so beautiful and it was really nice to watch you working on them. 🤩

Beautiful work!
Beautiful work!🤩
Thank you!
Beautiful work thank you. What gauge are the hoops?
Stunning!
Thank you!! Your videos are always great and helpful. I do have a question, when applying the LOS, what type of applicator do you use so that the fibers don’t burn while applying it to a hot piece? Also I really like your solder stick / it looks nice and sturdy / can you share your recommend product? Thanks!! Huge fan
Hi Nicole. I received your book. Very interesting. I red that you had very few tools when you started your smithing journey. Now I can hear you say often.. This is from lionforge etc which are quite expensive tools.
Do you have ideas about heating from underneeth without these titanium tools? I am in Europe so not easy to get all these beauties from lionforge.
Thank you for showing your butterfly skills. 🍀
Good morning. Thank you for buying my book! Let’s correspond via email so I can give you more in depth information about tool alternatives. Can you reach out to me here? ringgoldnic@gmail.com
Wow, you make it look so easy to follow! Beautiful details!
First time I've seen a piece wet while using a radial disc. Is it to keep the piece cool while polishing?
Not necessarily. It's more about me being lazy and not wiping the piece off. But it doesn't seem to harm it...
How can I find your pieces, love that leaf thumb ring, gorgeous, love the feather pieces as well.people don’t realize how much work goes into one piece of handmade jewelry.✨
you can see much of my work on Instagram. I sell my work through my website, but right now everything is sold out. I try to release new collections every month or 2. Thank you for asking!
So in AWE of your gorgeous pieces! Thank you for generously giving all the details and the specs of the tools you're using as well. Can you please tell me what gauge silver wire the hoops are made from? Thank you so much
They are 12 gauge. Thank you!!
@@ringgoldnic Thank you so much!
Thank you❤
B.E.A...uuuutiful!
So interesting Nicole!! I never use easy solder! I always learned to work in hard and medium. Do you often always use easy in a full project??
Great question. My students are often surprised by this. When I first began smithing (I'm self-taught), I didn't know there was anything besides easy solder, so I learned how to depend on heat sinks to prevent solder flow. Now, if my work is sculptural, I use hard, medium, and then easy. But if everything sits flush (such as this feather, or a leaf...) then I stick with easy for the entire project.
Simply stunning but i can tell making these will be much more difficult than you are making it appear. ❤
❤do you ever sell the things that you fabricate ?❤❤❤
Yes. I sell everything I make. My next collection release is coming up on June 12
Those are really gorgeous. Do you sell them and if so, how much?
Yes, they will be available in my next collection release!
Yes! I def want a pair or two
👀❤❤❤
I am rewatching this video again. As you know, I absolutely love your work. I’m curious when you’re using your flux brush what type of brush are you using? Or is it even a brush? I like how the flux spreads evenly. Thanks Michelle
