I like that analogy, play your position. So if love (find love/ a mate) were like a baseball game where women played as the catchers and men the pitchers- and the goal was to play out the game in its entirety first before the women would make their choice of the one pitcher she liked the most based solely on the measure of his performance in that game and ONLY after it’s played out in it’s entirety, since a woman’s not just gonna choose a man to be with after only seeing him play just a little bit (even if he’s really cute) because she obviously needs more time to actually observe him/ see what all of his strengths and weaknesses as the game progresses, to see more than just his best throw, she needs to see how he handles everything else as well, from curve balls to teamwork etc. (so in this analogy we would be pretending that mate choice was only based on this one factor) playing your best and being selected after.
So as man, all you can do is play your position to the best of your ability if you wanna win the game or the girl, and there AREN’T SHORTCUTS either, just like in reality as it is in evolution regarding mate selection- so you just demonstrate the result of all that work you put in up to that point just to qualify for the team and that ultimately led to you being on the field that day to play. Have the strength to say next, guys, good girls are out there and we’re looking for strong, solid, reliable leaders to love and be able to trust enough to follow anywhere for the rest of our lives, even if it ends up being right off the end of a cliff.😝🤪 lol jk
