I was searching the same thing. Actually if you dont have straw with the coffee cup you cant have the coffee . You will burn your lips with every sip that you have. You are right.
If you're this passionate about coffee and drink it all the time, why not look into perfecting your own homebrew and buying a premium thermos that keep liquids hot for days? Store the coffee in the thermos and pour it into a travel mug as needed. Your coffee's going to taste so much better and you'll save a ton of cash while you're at it.
@@rmwtsou That definitely works! There's really something to the simple act of sipping and slowly enjoying your coffee over the course of a morning. In case you've never tried one, my favorite brewing method is a moka pot. I have a drip coffee maker, k-cups, French press, and even a fancy espresso machine, but I keep coming back to the moka pot as the happy medium between taste and convenience.
McDonalds kids are far superior to any other brand. You guys are missing the point. The flap is not supposed to be lifted. Rather, the flap is intended to be depressed by the upper lip, allowing the deliciousnous to flow freely but closing afterwards to prevent sloshing when driving. It is a brilliant design. McDonalds don't change a thing. Except of course we want the good old tallow fried french fries back.
I see your point. They do work better with the lid depresses. But then why do they have a depressed area posterior to the lid flap, obviously designed to hold the lid back? And that's what most people will do.
@Anthony Dahm Thank you, sir. When drinking from a large cup, when I lower the cup after taking a sip, apparently I lower the cup too enthusiastically (perhaps, as if to say, get the heck out of my hand I no longer need you!) resulting in the coffee being launched from the bottom corner of the cup, straight up THROUGH the opening onto my upper lip. Particularly annoying with a mustache as it isn't that quick to dry yourself off. With YOUR tip, good sir, this problem is no more!
mc donalds lids are like pulling my bottom lip open and pouring scolding hot liquid inside because thats exactly what it does for me. some locations keep it hotter than others but ive completely sworn off mc donalds coffee because of this. change it already mc donalds!!
McD coffee lid is very bad, look carefully next time, sometimes I see long narrow slivers of plastic near where the lid flap is, very dangerous, you can ingest that slive rof plastic without even knowing it !
My wife complains to me about why I am not a passionate kisser like before. This is the fucking reason. fucking fucking design leading to burning of lips.
Thanks for sharing the excellent explanation!!!! You are 100 % correct.
Cheaper, less overhead

One way to alleviate the problem is to flip the cover INWARD rather than outward.

Already done that. Nowadays I brew one Keurig K cup every morning (16 oz) and put it in a stainless steel insulated jug and drink it all morning.

@@barryjive1104 Will try! Thanks for the suggestion!
I cant believe I am commenting on a vid about coffee lids, but you are %100 CORRECT sir! damn they stink
Very good observations sir!
I don't have this problem, but find 90% of the lids, the vent hole is not open. I have to poke it with a pen.

Lids not kids

And the not raised opening allows for a more seam line flap design!!!

It is now 2021 and the lids leak all over your shirt.
Thank you

I searched for Mcdonalds coffee lids to see if I was crazy....I CANNOT DRINK from a Mickey's Lid!!! They SUCK!
creek hed that's why I push the McDonald's flap from the lid in the cup.
That's an excellent idea! I will try that next time. Thanks for the suggestion.

They have changed it now, atleast in Europe. So congrats, you can finally enjoy coffee without burning your lips 😅
Have not seen the changes so far in U.S. but don't drink coffee in McD so often.
Thought it was just me. I hate their lids but their coffee is pretty good
If you're a coffee lover you don't drink the dishwater from McDonald's
The top flap is for ur upper lip
bad design, it is.
Thanks for watching. If you press the flip inward instead of outward, it helps some. I still prefer the Burger King coffee cup lid.
Burger King coffee no way yuck
Decaf coffee McDonald's
