The bottom line is: If you seek God with ALL your heart, you WILL find Him - Jeremiah 29:13.

Just like how The Islamic Golden Age should be recognized and called The Iranian Golden Age, The Post- Enlightenment Age should be recognized and called The Jewish Enlightenment Age. These pound-per-pound stats are incredible. At least 178 Jews have been awarded the Nobel Prize, accounting for 23% of all individual recipients worldwide between 1901 and 2008, and constituting 37% of all US recipients during the same period. Dear Friend, thanks for listening and for taking the time to write. Now to your final point first, telling men that you’re offended is irrelevant. That says nothing about the validity or otherwise of what I said. All it tells me is how you feel. Today. Yesterday you might have felt differently and tomorrow you might feel something else. No, I’m interested in what you think not what you feel. If you feel offended, I might have said something offensive but true. Is the fact that someone might be offended a reason not to speak truth. I think not. Furthermore if you feel offended it might just be because you are thin-skinned. Who knows? So let’s ignore whether or not you feel offended. We need to keep our conversation on an intellectual level, we exchange ideas not feelings. I mean, do you really want to hear how I am feeling right now. I think not. We probably have a major difference of thinking with regard to western civilization. The idea that Africa created the equivalent of western civilization is an untrue idea. For many reasons. But here and now is not the time to explore this. I have produced many podcasts (all available online for free) detailing what civilization means and why it grew where it did. Political affiliations are more important than blood affiliations which is why tribal societies have rarely managed to build a bicycle factory let alone a chip fabrication plant. I really appreciate people who disagree with me and who still listen to the show, it takes greatness of spirit. So, thank you very much. Best wishes. Cordially ~ RDL

Responding to 7:50 - there are many people who view themselves as "cultural Christians" or post-Protestant or post-Catholic, which means that they were raised in the Catholic or Protestant tradition but now are non-believers. Lest I forget, Russians, Greeks, Serbs view saying "I am an Orthodox Christian" as being equivalet to saying "I am Russian, Greek or Serb". Millions of people consider themselves atheists personally believe that they are Christian. For many, being Christian is a religious artifact, even though they aren't practising. It does happen.

Mr.Lapin. a few years ago my bil who unfortunately spouses some antisemitic views) asked, me 'What or who is a Jew?' Without so much as batting an eye lash, I responded: A Jew is both an ethnicity and a religion. Not every Jew is religious but all Jews share the same ethnicity. I identify with the Jewish in that I embrace a belief in the God of Abraham, Isaac n Jacob. The question that has been asked to Jews as to whether they believe Moses received the Torah from God at Mt Sinai puzzled me. Why is it that so many vacillate? Years ago while attending a city College in NYC, I befriended several Arab n Muslim students. I vividly remember a young man in class confessing to not being a 'good Muslim (not godless) I never forgot it! By the way, I watched the 1981 film The Chosen, (was a teen at the time with a serious crush on the actor,Robby Benson). More recently Ire-watched, this time through very different lenses. I was so taken with the dedication n respectc between Danny n his Hassidic Rebbe, father. The dedication he poured on his prodigy was moving. There was a mutual love but at the end, Danny, chooses a different path. I'd like to mention that while my major in College had little to do with Psychology, I took classes on the subject. I was never truly sold on its validity. For many years now, I hv rejected it. Psychiatry / Psychology negates the existence of a Creator. Todah n Shabbat Shalom!

Kinda came outta nowhere with the "Arab world" comment...the first 30 minutes were so delicate and objective, and then once you brought up tribalism (which, as you yourself admitted, can be applied beyond literal "tribal people" such as the Arabs) your first and only example to show why it's wrong to be tribal was to mention (all together) the "Arab world" as an example of tribal culture, and then apply a standard of secular/Western civilization to this "world" to show that it's...what? Backwards? Poor? Simply different? What kind of man who chooses to follow an actually tribal religion (a Jew by definition must be born as one) whose origin is in the very same (backwards?) "Arab/Semitic" lands you're criticizing for not being as "un-tribal" as the West, can sit there with a straight face and scoff at secularism and (by extension) modernity on the basis of being a serious religious adherent? Did you ironically have a "Freudian/Fraudian" slip with your "God's chosen people" rhetoric and creed? And unfortunate intellectual blemish on an otherwise very interesting and informative video.

Interesting video. But there are some assumptions here that are not true.
    1. Perhaps in the States if someone says they are a Christian they really are. But in the UK much of the population would claim to be Christian, but when you ask if they really believe, it turns out they are only Christian by Baptism. Similarly, there are plenty of non-observant Muslims who eat pork and don't go to the Mosque.
    2. Your main premise that we need God to heal us and tablets won't help is correct. But your claim that all psychologists are Godless is false. I will concede the ones you mentioned, as I am not going to research the lives of so many people for the purpose of this comment. My personal experience is that I entered the world of helping people heal from their trauma with that same assumption. But I found myself pleasantly surprised. I joined a world of practitioners who are filled with wonder at the loving providence of God, even if they don't go to a place of worship. Far from being persecuted for my faith as I expected, these colleagues encourage me to live it on a deeper level.
    3. As for your claim that anxiety comes from sin, that may be true, but it is not always the sufferer's sin. For example, if a person is neglected by parents, bullied, or raped, their anxiety and trauma certainly does not stem from their own sin!
    4. For many years there was no science involved in helping couples with their marriages. But along came Dr. John Gottman, who experimented scientifically, and his meticulous data changed the way we work for ever.
    5. As for the question of why so many psychologists are Jewish, my answer is that people who suffer from trauma are deep thinkers, and they want to discover more about how humans behave. First there is the generational trauma that Jewish people have suffered over centuries. Second, I am very sorry to offend you, but I say this with the deepest compassion: add to that the personal and generational trauma caused by genital mutilation and you have your answer.
Please note that I don't make my last point lightly. I'm sorry it will offend people, but I believe it needs saying. When people keep quiet about suffering, it continues. It is beautiful to present children to God, but it would be more beautiful to consecrate them in a way that doesn't cause trauma.

Dear @fionapimentel5660 Looking at your observations in the reverse order, #5: Unfortunately, in spite of your carefully contrived explanation, it is sadly false. Always disappointing when our pet theories turn out to be imperfectly strained spinach soup. You see, your theory doesn't explain all the many (majority) of Jewish psychologists who are women and thus never suffered what you describe as suffering and trauma of circumcision. Second, the many soldiers who suffered PTSD in World War 2, Korea and in Vietnam hardly became "deep thinkers". Lastly, Jews would hardly have become famous for excelling in entertainment, business, law, medicine, and the many other fields in which they distinguish themselves if they were walking trauma cases on account of circumcision. No, I fear that, and I say this with all compassion and with no desire to offend you, but you have a bee in the bonnet about circumcision and you have constructed a theory out of whole cloth that simply has no validity.
#4: If the Gottman institute, which has done some fascinating work, really provided the solution to marital difficulties, the world would have beaten a path to their door and this would be reflected in much lower divorce rates. Interesting but not revolutionary or paradigm changing.
#3. As I clearly articulated in my recent show on trauma, the word as you use it is entirely undefined and unmeasurable organically so, no comment.
#2: If indeed I said ALL are Godless, I apologize. How could I know all? Most would be a fair assessment.
      #1: If you say so.

    Bravo sir.
You are the first of the tribe I've seen admit this much publicly.
The tri-part soul (intellect, will, and appetites) is best served by what God has given us.
I truly believe the field of psychology could be almost in its entirety replaced by the return of peoples Gentile or Jew to the Sacrament of Reconciliation/Confession/Penance we know by faith God left for us in His Church for the healing of our souls. Through it, we are assured of His forgiveness of our sins through His priests so that we can drop the load we've been carrying and can work on the amendment of our lives.
    *Matthew 9:2-8*
"And behold they brought to him one sick of the palsy lying in a bed. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the man sick of the palsy: Be of good heart, son, thy sins are forgiven thee. And behold some of the scribes said within themselves: He blasphemeth. And Jesus seeing their thoughts, said: Why do you think evil in your hearts? Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee: or to say, Arise, and walk?
But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then said he to the man sick of palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go into thy house. And he arose, and went into his house. And the multitude seeing it, feared, and glorified God that gave such power to men."
    *John 20:20-23*
"And when he had said this, he shewed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord.
He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained."
The same God of the Tanakh who promised the Messiah has fulfilled His promise in Jesus Christ.
One God (one essence), three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) - the Mystery of the Trinity, God is a communion of persons.
"And he said: Let *us* make man to our image and likeness:" Genesis 1:26 - God (one in essence - Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord) is a community of three persons. The sacrifice ancient Jewish people offered at the Temple for the reconciliation and thanksgiving of man (creature) to God (Creator) (e.g. Leviticus 4 & 5, Lev 1, 3, etc.) was a prefigurement of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass (John 1:29 - Behold the Lamb of God, behold Him who takes away the sins of the Lord).

I agree 100% that only thru fait you can cure many of these and that modern medicine can only do more harm than good, since most psychotropic drugs are habit formic and have huge side effects. Sin came into the world through Adam's disobedience.
Sin brought decay (sickness of ANY kind, including mind) and death.
Ever since that bad beginning of our first parents, the fear of death, not just physical death, but spiritual death - that is being eternally cut off from God.
That latter fear has distressed the human soul and, causing his heart to over stress and thus produce the highest cause of death in human society.
I believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and seek to follow in the steps of his faith in God.
Even so, may I encourage you to read at least out of curiosity, the 19th Book in the New Testament, called the Book of Hebrews. A book written to Jews in the first century of this common era.
Those 2 verses speak to this matter of fear and death. You might be interested.

After 2 years of studies I totally realised what you're saying about psychology but I was intuitive from my own experience... but the knowledge here, is something else! Thank you very much Rabbi!!!!

You had me until you said that tribalism is part of the Arab and African world. Sir, tribalism existed everywhere on Earth. And, your claim that Africa is not the cradle of civilization is incorrect. I direct you to Cheikh Anti Diop's groundbreaking work, The African Origin of Civilization, Myth or Reality. I think that you would have a change of opinion if you read that book.
Lastly, it is common knowledge that Islamic civilization was the most enlightened on Earth at a certain point. Are those countries backwards today? Yes of course. However, much of what we enjoy today can be traced to Moorish Europe and the Abbasid dynasty in Persia.
    Respectfully

    • @thenowchurch6419

      Good points.
The Rabbi has some useful knowledge and I thank him for that but he is not aware of ancient African civilizations and how it was their traditions and philosophies that were recycled by Greek philosophers and Hermetic scholars to be a foundation for the Enlightenment in Europe and the non-sectarian, non-tribal views the Rabbi is upholding.
Civilizations go through stages and eventual breakdown but that does not mean that they had not transcended extreme tribal exclusivity and racism.
In the West today as things become more unsure, tribalism and nationalism are rearing their ugly heads, so it is not just an African or Arab problem.
      Be well.

You had me until you mentioned the Islamic as the most enlightened?? First everything about Islam is the biggest hoax perpetrated by men! Second everything about the architecture were stolen or imitated and built by people who the Arabs invaded! From converted Churches to mosques, Christian masons building new mosques, art from the Persian or Iranian Sassanid former empire and math from India! The Beduins Arabs didn’t even know how to read and write. And what the Rabbi meant in my opinion by Tribal is the very Racist nature of ALL Tribal societies, which Blacks and Arabs are not excemption! Look how African Americans or Arab Americans or Shia or Sunni Iraqis vote 90% for their tribal candidate! Black Americans vote for their candidate and re-elect politicians who are proven failure! Is that not tribal voting I don’t know what is! 😂

@@tc7500 That's preposterous. Stolen? Conquered? The Christians of Spain wrote the Moors and asked them to intervene in the tyranny that they were suffering under their own Christian king. After the Moors conquered Spain , they brought the most progressive civilization that existed in the world there.
Timbuktu was considered the Harvard of its day. The scholars of Timbuktu were world renowned. They didn't steal anything. They learned and they spread the knowledge that they acquired from their studies.
The Holy Qur'an brought literacy to places in the world where people were backwards. Arabic was the lingua franca of the scholars.
If you don't know these facts, it's not worth the conversation.
All that other crap you mentioned is moot. This isn't a political conversation.

Spain like the UK was a land of many kingdoms so again apparently you don’t know what your are talking about. Remember Bush said the same thing about the Iraqis and he was right! Welcome as Liberators but when they realized that force conversions with an awful Islamic dictatorship they suffered!
