    The definition of home definitely changes. Home becomes a state of mind and mirrors your shadow. This video is your best edit yet. It flows so well from segment to segment. So happy you have trail companions. 😊 You're spirit is where it belongs.✌️

    Thank you for sharing this with us & keep up the great work 👍🏻 also be careful. A good video with ponies, partnership shelter pizza party, alpaca farm, a snake & waffle breakfast. The only bad thing was the weather but that's inevitable & all you can do is prepare for it.

    I love your videos! Thank you in particular for picking up trash all along the way - I wish everyone would do that out on trail, wherever they are. How are you liking your bear canister? I want to get one (as a beginner backpacker) but I have a very weird fear that someone or something will take it in the middle of the night. 😆

      I love my bear can! Haven’t had any problems with it yet. The ease in the evenings just about makes it worth it alone. It’s also a stool, keeps my food dry, and keeps things organized well. Highly recommend.

    My favorite video of yours yet! The entire video there was only about 10 seconds where you didn't have this huge smile on your face! I am so happy for you that you met and became a tramily and that you are enjoying solo hiking but having the comradery at supper and in camp. Just about everything about being a thru hiker is happening for you but you have no idea of the new things to come. Congratulations on 1/4 of the way, but trust me, it will just keep getting better and better. Still loving the knowledge you have of the flora and fauna, I am learning a lot from your videos. Well, usually I end with Hike safe, Hike strong, Have fun but you are hiking incredibly great so.....Have fun, Have fun, Have fun!

    You talk about home and place and you did not make one connection to home that was obvious to me.
    They turtle meant a lot to you at the start and the turtle carries its home on its back. TC meaning in part Turtle Clan is a good way to associate that idea into the feeling of 'home is where your hat is' too.

    What's the longest distance you have gone without seeing another hiker? Mine was over 30. The silence is deafening. Seeing a road will make you jump for joy. The unexpected absence of people will make you question future hiking decisions.

      @jamesadams2334 Год назад

      I kinda liked the solitude but I went 11 days on the PCT and only saw 3 people and they were day hikers in a group.

    • @appalachianadventurista

      Great question. Less than 20 for sure. I’ve done longer solo hikes before up to 50 miles and didn’t see anyone for the majority of those. The AT is certainly a popular trail these days.
