Anyone else realize that nicotine was making them more paranoid? I quit and the paranoia that I’ve had for the last 2 years using it is just gone completely
Man dropping 45 on nicotine is some cocaine behaviour. The disposables use A LOT of nicotine salt vs freebase nicotine in regular vapes. The freebase is way rougher to inhale which means it's super easy to over do it on the salt. I quit a month ago and the cravings are endless so hearing it's a case of "grass is greener" is super helpful. I hear you on the booze, taking really deep breaths has worked for me. Stay strong man.
This was extremely brave of you . I’m still trying to quit but watching your videos are really encouraging . Your transparency is refreshing and it’s definitely not an easy quit . Thanks so much for sharing this .
sup dude i'm like 11 days deep into quitting nicotine, which was my last thing I needed for complete sobriety. Funny how quitting smoking was easy, quitting drinking was easy, and nicotine has been easily the most nagging of them all, but I'd much rather deal with the daily nagging of "you should do it once" than the hundreds of different daily thoughts of an abuser like why am I doing this, should I quit, this isn't helping me, i'm a slave to this, I really shouldn't keep affording this, do other people think it's gross, and of course the "this this definitely affecting my health" through one way or another. NGL though this video pertains to me cause past few days I've been thinking quite a bit about eventually enjoying a cigar , or a hookah amongst friends, and I just feel like I could pass away if I limited myself from those celebratory kinds of enjoyments, as they are not habitual or ritualistic to me in any form. But they are SURELY gateways. Not sure if this has convinced me NOT to eventually do so, but it surely didn't steer me further towards so thank you for your personal insights man.
Hey Man, i think that ADHD is a MASSIVE cause for most people relapsing. I have been cig free for over 500 days.. still crave… I was on anti-depressant just after quitting which “helped” things but I always felt off and had this head pressure thing. I came off them in May hoping the fog/head pressure would go away but my symptoms got way worse. My neurologist heard my symptoms and the thinks that I have ADHD that has never been diagnosed. Likely I have an anxiety/depression disorder as well as ADHD.
I’m day 2 clean of vaping. I smoke cannabis so I was using rellos and today I switched to papers. I agree with everything you sayin. I got the book the easy way to quit vaping, that shit got a lot of points but this is the worst thing to get addicted to. These videos are really helpful for me right now, even though I’m late, you be spitting facts! 💯 New sub
I will say ADHD is a large factor in what has kept me on nicotine for the past two years. Nobody wants to prescribe me a stimulant because I also have Tourette Syndrome and stimulants worsen tics. However, every non-stimulant medication I have tried has failed me. I had a rough patch at the end of 2022 and relapsed on nicotine but the focus it gave me kept me on it. I will be quitting cold turkey soon after way too much money spent on trying to lower my nicotine from 55mg salt to 3mg freebase. But it's super easy to mess that up when you also crave the inhalation-exhalation fix. I rarely gave myself a day or two break in between milligrams and I am now back on 50mg. Down to my last Vuse Alto pod and last tank of 6mg freebase that I will be using until it is done when this pod is depleted. Not the first time I've quit, but hopefully it is the last. I'm tired of the drawbacks and I'm happy with a small mug of coffee in the morning, anyways, so I'm actually excited this time to quit. I won't be quitting for anyone else but myself. I know I'm late to this video, but I hope your experience with disposables has kept you away from nicotine during the past year. It's far from worth the hassle like I mean who wants to go through 3-4 days of withdrawal and up to a few months of craving when you have finally had enough, anyways? As for alcohol, I agree as it simply just builds confidence when you take too much. I went through over half of last year getting drunk every single night. It gives you confidence in the worst ways possible and makes you feel like anything you are actively thinking about is truly achievable even if it is not. Even if that is using something like nicotine and being able to keep it under control but that is simply just not true, just like you said towards the end of the video. Nicotine is not something to mess with. It amazes me that both of these substances are far more socially acceptable than cannabis, which is what I choose to use personally. But it is strange to me that I could tell a random person that I use nicotine and they'd be like "oh okay whatever" but the moment I'd tell them I use cannabis (which I use both recreationally and medicinally in the evening to unwind and help me sleep as I'm borderline an insomniac when I don't deprive myself of sleep) they may look at me like I'm crazy for doing so. Also, one last side note: that's wild that your friend is the main photographer for Crown! I really gotta get out and go to a DCI show at some point I've kinda stopped following the whole scene since I left high school in 2020 and I always told myself (and keep telling myself) that one day I'll get out to see a finals performance. I miss marching a contra, even if I only got to experience that within high school, and I will always be wanting to relive it.
I’ve been vaping for 4 years I’ve tried quitting in the past but never ever tried going cold turkey id do 10 hours here and there but never a full day. I’ve just done Saturday and Sunday cold turkey which as nicotine addicts know is really really good and proved to me that I can actually do it! I did however have a really long drive and bought a disposable (those little shitty sticks of cherry ice) anyway I regretted it immediately but obviously the little guy in my head said you may as well finish it and it’s lasted until 930 this morning lol. So I’m 4 hours in (again) but feeling extremely positive knowing that I’ve just come off the back of two days cold turkey but I’m gonna do Mon - Fri of course with the intention of continuing well beyond Friday!
alcohol did that with me causing me to crave it not just you man stay strong and dont give in to the craving bro shit i also vape alot and undereat itshard to even eat for me and my stomachs always in pain
I quit 11 days ago now and every other time I’ve tried to quit on the 1st or 2nd day my brain would shut off and I would just buy one without realizing but this time I purposefully put myself in situations to see if I can get through it like I would go to the store where I normally get them and I’d even look at them to see how I feel and I didn’t feel anything which was good and I’ve been out drinking with friends who vape and that one surprised me but I was able to get through pretty easy I still get cravings which don’t last long and aren’t strong at all and I tell myself if I can say no to the cravings on the first 3 days I can easily say now now and that’s what’s gonna carry me onwards
been vaping for the last 7 years and in the last 2 I was trying to quit completely, needless to say I failed each and every time. Until I read that book about how to stop smoking (I don't even remember the name, it was that book with cartoons giving you reasons to stop and tells you to take the last disgusting puff) that book gave me the strength to actually take it seriously and quit for real. It's been over a month now since I last vaped and well, it's fucking hard. I can't stop thinking about it and it made me a complete room Gollum, just grounded to my room (I work from home so that doesn't help) I can't convince myself to go out and sit with my friends because I fear I will just throw the last month all away, and all because I got happy and lowered my guard. It has really been messing with my psyche and made me pretty depressed and empty.
I quit 2 weeks ago now This may help people, I had really bad brain fog for 3 days because your mind is desiring nicotine Throughout this process I have been taking alpha brain black label, and whether it’s a placebo or not it absolutely helped me get through it I still have thoughts of taking a zyn or Rogue but they’re not strong enough to overpower me mind
I smoked cigarettes as a teen from 15-19 then switched to vaping from 19-24 then quit. Then relapsed and went back to cigarettes, then quit. Then went back to vaping then quit. Then had a job where I was completely miserable at and pretty much wanted to die, went back to smoking cigarettes for a couple months. Then went back to vaping. 🤣I'm 29 now and I'm finally done with nicotine. It makes me feel like shit sometimes thinking back at all the times I relapsed and the years I consumed nicotine and all the damage I caused to myself, but it is what it is. You can't go back in time. I went through some yucky stuff in my life and unfortunately it was my way of coping but something that helps me feel better is knowing that it could've been way worse. I could've gone the route of hard drugs for example. I could've developed multiple addictions like alcohol (of which I'm very susceptible to) and I didn't.
Believe it or not I used to be a poly user/addict and I actually found quitting nicotine harder. Because there’s literally rooms of scientists at tobacco companies that sit around and develop new ways to make cigarettes more addictive. Vaping is a little different you can see the ingredients, cigarettes you can’t for the most part. But keep in mind there’s over 100 chemicals in 1 cigarette, regular rolling tobacco is nowhere near as addictive as modern class A cigarettes.
All it took for me to relapse was a podcast clip of tucker Carlson speaking to the nelk boys on the magic of zyn. It was the perfect pitch for nicotine, but it’s a trap. Nicotine is an awful nagging pest. The biggest reason for me to quit once and for all is the seggs side effects, hair loss, and overall poor circulation chronic nicotine causes. All these oooptimizer nootropic life hack nerds talk about nicotine like it’s this amazing nootropic, and they say “oh I only take 1/4 of a peice of nicotine gum all day”. For someone with add, we all know you can’t just take one puff or one pouch
Yeah it's advertised as tobacco free, and while nicotine is not a carcinogen, it can cause plenty of other health issues. And on top of that, the pouches are bad for your gums. Your dentist will know if you use them regularly. There was a study done, I believe, on gum cells and the effect that those nicotine pouches have on them and the stress response they got from the cells is comparable to that of a skin cut. Sure, it can heal, but repeated trauma will fuck up your gums.
What are your thoughts on quitting nicotine but still vaping? I’m 24 days nicotine FREE. But today I caved and bought a nicotine free vape and been using it today. What are your thoughts? Mistake? Relapse?
I think that nicotine free vapes can be a great way to ween off the oral fixation of vaping, I'd just be careful that it doesn't lead to using nicotine again
