I received mine (XH Data) in late January (Ebay) and it is apparently the new version - rubber feet, orange backlight, USB-c charging feature. I'm looking forward to your expert final analysis.
*I was waiting for this series of comparison videos, usually when they redesign internal circuitry it means the performance of the receiver and specs go down!*
The internals are a lot different, the SW section has been reduced from 10 tuning pots to just 2 pots, the entire audio section has also been totally changed.
Thank you for doing this. I'm looking forward to your results. I just got mine 808 and the parts are mixed. Amber display, rubber feet but with the original micro USB.
I believe yours will be fine because mine came in a few days ago the same way...... if it has the mini usb i think you will be fine. I took my cover off and luckily it's the original
I sold my original D-808 a couple of years ago and recently acquired a new old stock D-808. I opened mine up to verify the board version. Mine's an original - SW filters in place. Amber light, Micro USB (not USB C), Rubber feet!, manufactured in 2022.
I like the black of the Sihuadon but the red button looks off with the orange lettering and backlight. I don't get why they haven't kept the button orange.
I find that the shorter antenna wire for external jack which came with the Sihuadon D-808 does NOT work wirh Tecsun Pl-330.Pl-660. When it is plugged into these , the signal drops off almost completely. Surely they did not tune this antenna just for their D-808?
@OfficialSWLchannel I have the original USB with the new rubber feet. Also, my on/off button has the original orange. Is there another tip to identify which version you have?
there is a lot more different, the SW section only has 2 tuning pots on SW compared to 10 on the original, the audio section has been totally changed regardless of the brand name.
Modern versions of XHDATA also has USB Type-C connector and amber backlight

You need to get a Geiger Counter to go along with your username and profile picture.
Thanks a lot 👍 looking forward to your next videos. My D-808 got rubber feet but an old board and the old micro usb port.
I bought my XHDATA in 2022, it's got rubber feet and micro usb. Although it appears to have lost one of its rubber feet, its only on one side.
Ok, I’ve just reposted
The Insides of a comparison on the Facebook Group.
LOTS of changes to the board.

YT won't allow your link to post here, can you provide the information to get the the
facebook group without the entire link ? Thanks.

I have the original. I guess I should be thankful.
Gilles, my Sihuadon D-808 doesn't have rubber feet so perhaps I have the old circuitry that is in the original XHDATA D-808!
Looking forward to your examination of the core/board when you open them up for comparison
which one is better xhdata d808 or sihuadon r 108
Sihuadon is better.?

I have the earlier one. The Blue/White Screen illumination is much nicer in my opinion
I have amber screen but not the new version, is a really good receiver !
nice receiver. 73 from the M21 team

So which model has better reception? Thank you.
There is a permanent "timer" label on the display of the new model with unknown meaning.
Interesting seems like good value
I have an email from XHDATA. They said the D-808 is black and the Sihuadon is silver. That is the only difference.

@@georgebarnes8163 well, did this cause any change in the shooting quality in sw? I recently bought a new model. Frankly, this is bothering me.
Thank you so much sir
Very nice
Thank you for your great review. I just purchased one from Walmart for $89.00 USD. 73, de W8STU
Where can I buy one (from canada) and be sure of getting the new design radio
I have the Sihudon and can the word timer be removed?
Hmm... Is there any difference in reception though? I got a new one, only after this I found out about the difference in the cirquits :-(
I have a new one too. And it's as great as the old version.
Where is it
possible to buy the new one in italy?
I have the old one and will agree that performance/$ is unmatched. I guess I need to stop recomending them. Bummer.
I see the new one says Sihuadon and the other says XHdata.
I see the new one has temperature in F, not C
hold 3 when off to switch F C
