After a year+ the radio is still working great. It responds well to specific antennas. The battery is keeping a good charge.
The AR-500 antenna performs well. I was pulling down 80m and 40m all night just last night at full extension.

Holy 480 Batman. I will say it does appear to be packaged nicely though. I'll stick with my little 30 dollar RTL-SDR which I can use with my phone as well as a computer. But mine doesn't start at 10 khz, it starts at 500 khz and goes to 1.7 my giggle hurts. I don't think it excludes the 381-403 range either but not 100% on that. To be honest it was fun to play with for a couple of weeks and haven't touched it since. :)

I was *about* to bash you for asking a totally off-topic question.. But then i saw that beautiful badge next to your name!
Not sure whats going on, but I would start by checking all your connections.. and I assume you have the antenna or a dummy load connected to the other side of the SW102? If not, be sure to connect the antenna/dummy load..
If that doesn't fix it you might have to call the place you bought it from for support.

Sorry, I wasn't sure if you check new comments made on older videos since I didn't see a direct way to message you. Yes, the meter is attached between the radio and the antenna. Have you ever seen or heard of someone's radio fluctuating power like that?

No.. just to confirm its not the meter that is messed up, when you talk to someone over the radio does your signal fade in and out? if so, i would send it back. if not, it might be a problem with the meter.

I will have to try that. When I put my hand around the base of the antenna when hooked to the meter it works better. Low 1ish watt, medium 4.5ish watts and high 10-11 watts(whole setup laying down on table. Poweelr levels seemed more consistent too. Thoughts?
When I tried the meter outside between the 390 plus(using surecom simplex repeater for my house) and the lmr400 going to a Tram 1486-B(uncut so far) the power wouldn't go anywhere on high and swr said 19.99 and that swr reading is still stuck there even after hitting the yellow clear button. The only ground on the outside antenna is the 3 rods on the antenna base. Radio and meter lay in a plastic box on the ground. Thank you again!

I heard that the FCC is punishing people that are using Ham radios without a license in Lebanon.
They want to set an example so you take the Ham exam. 🤣🤣

I want one, does it decode digital p-25 ? All police are digital now. So much less expensive than my Icom 8600 and so much more portable.
