Personally, I've had a lot of fun just rattling off any note in the key of C, whatever feels right under my fingers. It's also a jazz track, so don't worry about "wrong" notes. Just make sure you can make it back to the key of C.
just grab your bass or guitar, and follow the notes on screen, start by only playing one note, then you can improvise, by adding a fifth and an octave!! ( for example the fifth of C is G)
If you follow the instructions in the video, I don't think you'll have any problems at all. Anyway, play the video from the beginning. When the music starts, try playing along with it.

What's an easy way for a beginner to play along to this? I was just using the root notes and trying to keep time.
Start learning the chord tones and with that learn how to walk bass
