G-Scale Model Trains For Christmas

This is a special holiday video to celebrate G scale model trains at Christmas time. If you love model trains and model railroad layouts, I bet you'd agree that model trains around the Christmas tree is a cherished holiday tradition. It definitely is at our house.
These video features large scale model trains from LGB, Bachmann, and Piko running on a layout in my living room. What kid wouldn't love to wake up to this on Christmas morning?!?!
Gather the family around the screen and let them enjoy the choo choo sounds of the Coca Cola steam train as it makes its way down the tracks and around the room. But in case they're thinking about asking Santa for this model train set, gently let them know that it's not actually a train set... it's a collection of G-scale model trains that cost somewhere around $10,000! Definitely not something that the kids should expect Santa to bring them for Christmas this year!

One place where I recommend you check out is the holiday train show at New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx, NYC. Every year during the holidays they have several model train layouts of different G scale trains

MERRY XMAS. Do I see snow outside your window?

I see why you would think that. At the 0:30 point, for example, it looks like there's snow on the lawn. But that's just really an overexposure of the lawn by the camera, because it's so much brighter outside than it was inside the house. When I look at the 2:50 point of the video, I can clearly see some things like the corner of the lawn, the base for the umbrella, and the rocks... all of which would have snow on them if there had been a snowfall recently.
We did have snow here on December 1, 2023... so, that got December off to a really fun start... but by the next day, it had all melted. Our area is high desert with very little precipitation... so, we don't get much snow. But when we do, it's fun!

I will be watching to see what happens to this video as I have had Christmas Train videos get smacked down by the YouTubve systems as blasted K*ds videos. No matter what argument I set as an appeal I always loose. Put it this way these days I wouldn't even entertain looking at a Christmas Train on this site. Now I'm thinking thats a very large room to have so much G Scale layout out for show.

Why should children not ask for something as festive as this? Sure, it's expensive, but every parent I know of does their best to make their children's wishes come true. Isn't this something you wanted for Christmas when you were little? Remember, it is not the gift but the thought that counts.
