- In this video, we'll take a look at some S Gauge equipment and accessories turning loose on a nicely done layout- presented in a format familiar to many if you grew up in the late 90's! This is only a sampling, but there's a little bit of everything from the classic streamlined Pacific's, modern era giants, and accessories like Sam the barrel man!
This feels like watching I Love Toy Trains but with American Flyer trains.
That was the goal!
I know right
I love it! Great layout and sound effects. God bless you for your effort. This video is FUN!!‼
Thanks for watching!
Great video and awesome layout! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Wow. Great video Logan! Way to make the layout and collection really shine! Appreciate it! Let’s get S scale back on the map!
Love that Royal Blue locomotive! Stunning layout!
Thanks for watching!
A fantastic video Logan! Immediately recognized that style! It was a blast talking to you at York again!
Thanks! Was great catching up at the show!
Nice production and Doppler. Love Flyer!
Ahhh classic sound effects
Awesome layout!!!!
Are they bigger than G scale?
S is between O/HO
I love toy trains #20
Nice layout and my kind of filming.
Thanks for watching! Plenty more footage of this layout on channel!
Just wait I start putting footage of it. Hint on my screen name. I have one question what is your favorite accessorie to use one the layout. I am going try and get a stockyard this summer and hopefully I'll be able to show my coal loader when it returns from getting fixed. Looking forward to showing you my layout
Nice S scale layout and models, *that S scale model of Southern 4501 looks amazing!!* same with the Berkshire, Clinchfield challenger, Blue comet, 4014, and the Virginian 2-8-8-2. I'm curious, Are those brass s scale engines?
Nope, all Lionel scale offerings!
@@SCL3618nice!
Too bad lionel overpriced them to the point I have to
1. Wait for other brands to make new s scale steam locomotives with a cheaper price
2. Get a lionel flyerchief set
3. Get a 1950s american flyer locomotive so i could kitbash it.
@@KatyPacific382 Used market is your friend in most of these cases. Good S stuff with the exception of some is relatively cheap. You're not going to get much new S steam outside of Lionel for the hi-rail market, just not a massive seller to justify heavy tooling investments.
I got two some important questions and a fun questions
1. *How well do older American Flyer s gauge trains run on lionel s gauge track in comparison to older American Flyer track? Do they run smoother?*
2. *Can an lionel cw 80 watt transformer work with s scale lionel track?*
3. Will you ever get an American Flyer 21085 usra pacific? or a 293 pacific which is based on the New Haven i4 pacifics
Fastrack does fine, though occasionally you'll have some issues with curves vs larger wheel flanges on equipment. It's fine for a short term setup or testing out. CW80 would likely do just fine for basic running. There's a 290 due to be filmed at this layout, so one will appear soon enough.
I cant lie I feel like s guage should be more popular especially compaired to 0 scale. Though that said I also hope TT guage catches on, perfect size between N and HO
Definently has an opportunity for growth! Doing my part to shine some more coverage on the scale for sure.
@SCL3618 I honestly only found out about s scale maybe 4 years ago. Glad that someone is showing it love
As much as I kinda like S scale I really don’t like it because the amount of detail all the layouts/ locomotives lack.
But other wise nice video.
You haven't seen S brass then lol. S Scale is a different game, S gauge is the more traditional stuff- just like O.
Great layout and good photography! But I think you run most of the trains too fast, I'd like to enjoy watching the details of the engines and consists, which I can't do when they're run fast.
Majority of these trains are geared to hustle, slow speed doesn't quite suit toy trains outside of modern equipment.
You could be right that American Flyer's engines ran better fast than slow! But when you make a film for the public to watch--especially if the public is AF fans--it's more fun to watch a slow train than a fast one. The watchers want to see the detail in these famous old toys. Making a film about toy trains is a bit different from just watching your own trains. You might consider a mixture of fast and slow.

Mostly real train sounds.
Dubbed over for reasons in spots. More fun, and you'll get tired of the background crossing bell going off after the 3rd hit. Got a whole playlist of other videos if you want raw sound.
