My mom died right before the crowdstrike update. I had to choose between flying or driving to go home and for some reason something told me to drive. I'm so glad I chose the latter!
Wow! This community has been so supportive and kind. Didn't expect such a response. Y'all are awesome!
Sorry for your loss.
I'm so glad you were able to be there.

As an IT professional for the past 25 years, there is a reason that outside of work, I choose to live a very analog life. Redundancy is key.
Also IT professional who does not trust computers
I absolutely find your comment...... relatable as I employ the same reasoning friend🎉
Data analyst and coder here, I assist in tracking industrial construction of some of the largest companies in the world. At home I farm my food, don't buy anything new, and anything that can't be fixed with simple parts i won't buy either. I collect rain water and raise chickens and rabbits. As someone who sees these systems day to day I can tell you that they are so fragile and one good outtage could cause you to starve. Act accordingly
People think I am crazy to have a paper calender, a clock on my wall and many other non electric items at my home....

This might not have anything to do with prepping but i started decluttering, organizing our house. Its making my brain hurt less and makes me more focused on what i need to replenish, use up and rotate.

I have been fortunate in that the crowdstrike issue did not affect me. I live a low tech life. I do watch food supply and prices, and plan accordingly. I recently endured a financial disaster in my household, and went 90 days easily, no trips to the store, without having to resupply food or other supplies, thanks to your prepping advice. I am now replentishing what I used; but its nice to know I had what I needed, and still had some left for pad. Thank you for that!
Great preps! Unfortunately I live a high tech life in the Bay Area. But use it to my advantage. Recently went solar, added 2 Tesla batteries which can function completely off the grid. My father in law kills and processes chicken and goats. Will be learning the process soon 💪🏼.
Yeah, I didn't even realize it happened. When you take care of a small farm and chickens all I do is listen to audibles. I have several books I listen to. I've never seen a chicken texting either!😂 So we're pretty low tech here too! It's actually pretty nice. No internet, no cable TV. Phones only.
It mainly affected commercial companies.
I am semi retired and dependent on computers and Starlink for my part time legal practice. No problem with crowd strike. Had a real prob with the US Mail when I stared forwarding my mail. Sheech.
But I do have 12 months of food for my wife and I, and a couple of neighbors along with several gardens.
It pays to prepare. Stay safe everyone.
Take your corners wide.
I spend lots of the winter in that 'mode'
I appreciate the information you pass on. It is always important to planning for any type of disaster, loss of job, loss of family member, etc. You are always so calm and thorough with you your information. My husband and I are retired, and because of you we have prepared for things that could effect us. You are not only a good teacher, you are also very comforting. Thank you.
As a former IT project manager, I cannot even begin to imagine releasing code without extensive testing. That being said, the reason I do not do any online banking and have extensive hard copy backups and a large (paper) library is BECAUSE I used to work in IT.
As a current IT project manager, this doesn't shock me at all. QA doesn't make money on the books, so many companies have been laying everyone off to save money. Every company I've heard from is in the same boat: skeletal QA crews and rushed code because there isn't enough people to test. And seeing who the CEO of Cloudstrike is, I'm positive that's the cause.
My brother was a top computer guy at FedEx til retirement. He says the same thing!
Why do you assume that the code wasn't tested and didn't perform exactly as designed? The Powers-that-be want chaos to force us into their New World Order.
Thank you for sharing this I am so sick of being looked upon as backwards just because I refuse online banking and all its "advantages" , glad , that you see my point

I find it interesting how quickly mainstream media moved off the crowdstrike topic. Many unanswered questions here
The answers don't help the agenda. Crowdstrike relations to election security, DNC servers in Ukraine, and who took out shorts on Crowdstrike stocks who then made fortunes when stock plummeted after the "malfunction "
Not forgetting the shorting of Trump companies a few days before he didn't die. Then the crowd strike fiasco . Suspicious not?
Main Stream Media=Howdy Doody Time! The most uneducated, unethical, unprofessional and soul selling groups I've ever seen.

Worth considering? Ofc it's not an accident. Know the agenda, know the enemy (from inside).
Agreed!
Had this been an actual emergency, blah blah blah.
Crowdstrike has been involved in more than 1 political conspiracy before. I don’t think it was an accident at all. It was an opportunity to delete some tracks of recent events.

I'm an ICU RN, and let's just say as of this moment at my hospital system, about a quarter of our digital WoWs (workstation on wheels) are still out of service and the turnaround times on labs are still longer than what we are accustomed to. Some departments still are using paper charting on a case by case basis.
This did nothing but corroborate one thing.....how legit screwed we are if our digital and electric infrastructure was taken out. Most people can't even handle a few hours of their WiFi being out of service. Imagine how people will behave if an outage lasted weeks, or God forbid a few months.
Yes, it will be like a drug withdrawal, and they will either die in the matrix or break free from it.
I’m an ICU RN as well! I think about this often.. disturbing and dangerous.

I’ve had a garden for years and quite a bit of canned food stocked up. I am a bit concerned that my garden is not producing nearly the amount of veggies as in previous years. This points out the importance of backups. Between what I have canned or frozen and the emergency food, we should be good for 3-6 months. I will be working on buying more canned food as a cushion, and also to help others in need.
Yes, Nancy!!! 👏🏽👏🏽 Same here. ☺️
I’m in Georgia and my garden didn’t produce the usual amount this year. I have been doing the same exact thing as you. Save some money if you have a Kroger. November is the best month to stock up on canned vegetables and gravy. Last year I paid 49¢ a can for green giant and canned gravy.
yeah.. my sweetcorn is stunted. Most of the rest is sub par. The four horsemen of the apocalypse ride on! Get good with God and Jesus. Pray for God's kingdom to come. Praise Jah! you peoples.
My Apple trees have no apples this year and last (2023). The first time ever. Disturbed by this. Is it early frosts or no pollinator insects. Ireland
Do you till? My neighbor said the same thing about his garden, and he rototils each year. I suggested he stop that, as it kills a lot of beneficial bacteria, and instead sheet mulch like I do, with grass clippings, leaf mulch, bags of humus and manure, and wood chips. I have no decrease in production of my garden.
WOW!! Huge congrats to you and to all of us, too, for what WE will gain from this experience. Yeah, time is running shorter and shorter. Good luck to everyone. 🙏🏽

Thank you for this great information ! Times are getting scary!
My husband started a bucket garden a few weeks ago, (our first trial run at growing our own vegetables) on deck. It’s growing amazingly well! We’re on 1/3 acre lot. Maybe we’ll take what we’ve learned this year to the yard next year. I have what I need for canning. Just need to work up the courage to put it in practice. Wish me luck!
I hope for you SUCCESS!
It's easier than you think. I started pressure last summer. Check out Sutton daze, she is a good teacher or Rose ♥️ Be careful it's addictive 😂
You got this, Mary!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
You got this. Trust the process. Use tested recipes like from ball book or the national food safety folks.
I would prep the yard this year to be ready for spring planting next year. Create the beds, add compost and get the seeds you want for food you love to eat. It takes about 3 years for soil to become the beautiful life giving biome you will want it to be. :^)
The weather here in the PNW has not been supportive of my garden this year. It goes to show that even if you can garden the external factors can largely affect the outcome.

Living in federal housing here too, planning on getting a dehydrator to start dehydrating and storing food. Water storage is hard here but we're going the jugs of water, water bladder, and sawyer filters route. Also investing in a coleman stove, bulk propane, and refillable propane in case of emergency. They have alcohol stoves that can do in a pinch indoors too. I'm lucky cause I live in a state where I don't have to have a License to Carry to conceal / open carry too. Best of luck to you and your family. Stay safe out there.

Awesome! Seniors like us have the hardest time preparing but we’re smarter about getting it done!
@@velmawarner7375 Exactly! And most of us have skills that enhance our prepping! Truth be told, we can be a valuable resource and share our knowledge.
Great work as always, something I’ve been prepping for, but isn’t often covered is, in the event of a small yield burst over a city, there will be millions of homes out in the suburbs that will loose all their windows and probably shingles, it will be years before these could be repaired. Consider buying some plywood for your windows and plastic sheeting and tarps for your roof.
Good points about the outage-here’s our story. We were traveling abroad and learned that the flights were bumped. I had planned ahead with extra medication, but honestly, it almost wasn’t enough. Plan head even if the skies look clear!
Yes very good idea. Here’s something that happens when we get ready to go camping for 7-10 days, my lovely husband of 57 years packs his own clothes. He packs 3 underwear and 2 socks, I remind him, are you planning to reverse those underwear. Yellow in front, brown in the back. Yes even here, prepare with medication, and little extra clothes.

Thank you for covering the CrowdStrike event, and even though I was not personally affected, the brevity of airlines, hospitals, banks, and some stores affected is definitely concerning. My daughters employer, a retail store, had computer issues over 3 days. Trying to wake my family up seems like the hardest hurdle at this point.

I recently had a dental emergency and the crowdstrike outage delayed my dental visit. I had Clove Oil on hand and Tylenol rapid release on hand to get me through it. The pain would have been excruciating without it. People need to make sure they have extra batteries for their car key fobs and keep their tanks full. I bought the Echoflow Delta 2, extra battery, and solar panels during prime days and have learned to use the. Everything is charged and ready to go.

I have a huge garden that we can food from, I own several cattle and chickens and have more firepower than most small nations but I had no way of preservation until this year when I dropped 6K on a solar generator strong enough to power my huge deep freeze and refrigerator with ease. We ran a test of using the solar panels only and it worked great. Of course a generator off gas or diesel is more powerful but I'm not counting on that to be available if SHTF. Desperately need to work on water purification next.
Hail and wind is too much of an issue in my AO fir solar. Did get a 23kW natural gas generator, though.

There's no conspiracy here. I work in software development and testing. It is entirely plausible for something like this to happen, not because of attackers, but because of corporate greed. QA testers don't make money on the books, so we're the first to get laid off. Companies all over have been laying off their technology teams to save money. You've got a limited number of developers and QA testers to do 5x the work they should be doing. Things like this are going to get through. Cloudstrike is the canary in the coal mine. This should be alarming to every company that they should be retaining healthy testing teams. Instead, all CEOs care about is maximizing profit to shareholders. Until that changes, we should expect more of these issues from other companies.

Here’s how it affected me:
Brother and his 4 year old granddaughter got stuck on a layover in Atlanta, headed to Hartford. He rented a car and drove up to our farm for the weekend and didn’t get a plane til Tuesday. Meanwhile, my sister and her husband were stuck in Norfolk, which meant my 92 year old mother was also at our house. (I’m not as set up for her) so I drove her way down to South Ga (ever driven a 92 year old across a state?) instead of meeting my sister 1/2 way….then back to ATL to stay with the grandson, because his parents weren’t about to get on an airplane at this point and ended up driving on their trip. 😂😂 So, although I was flying nowhere, this glitch wore me out!!!

Good afternoon from Syracuse NY brother
I'm very excited to be in the process of securing back up power for my home. Thank you so much for your videos!
My family and I were scheduled to leave NY to OR on Saturday. 4 airports later, with numerous cancellations and re-bookings, we arrived home yesterday afternoon. 5 days later. I suspect we won't get reimbursements until a court rules whose fault it is: Cloudstrike or the airlines. The airlines are fighting it. What shocked me was how Delta has been down for the whole week. They told me their entire scheduling system crashed. They had no idea where their air crews were, what city they were in, and what flights they needed to be on. It was clear they didn't have a backup for the SOR (system of record). That is so alarming to me, a person who works in software dev and QA.
