    Sesotho Versions of those names:
    Kozo - Khotso/Kgotso
    Lilato - Lerato
Naleli - Naledi/ Naleli (the L at the end is actually a D)
    Thato - Thato
    Sepo - Tshepo
    Pumulo - Phumolo
    Sepiso - Tshepiso
    Tumelo - Tumelo
    Tapelo - Thapelo
    Mbuyoti - Lehlohonolo
Inonge - Tletlebo (Not really a name on our side)
    Twembuci - Oarona/Warona (Ours)
    Likezo - Liketso/Diketso (The L is still pronounced as a D)
Makazo - Makatso or Dimakatso ( plural)
    Palisa - Palesa
    Muhau - Mohao
    Liseli - Leseli/Lesedi
    Tebuho - Teboho
    Thabo - Thabo
    Limpo - Limpho/Dimpho
    Musa - Musa
Nyambe - Modimo (not really a name this side)
Ketiwe - Khethiwe (This is a Zulu name in South Africa)
    Masiliso - Matshediso/Matshidiso
Thank you Kela for this, I was so blown away when I learnt there was a language similar to Sesotho/Tshwana/Sepedi. Now learning Lozi won’t be that difficult 🤣😂

Bo kela luitumeza for sharing and just to add on twembuci is the version used as a name but in everyday spoken Lozi for “ours” we say “waluna” which is still very similar also “Nyambe” is not a name Sotho because that is the actual name of the diety/god of the Lozi people it’s different from Mulimo as we call it in Lozi or modimo as you guys say It as that means “god” but this is the name like you have the name Jesus for the Christian God Also our languages are similar coz Lozi is actually a dialect of Sotho a group of Sotho-Tswana people run to western Zambia during the time of shakas wars and conquered the local people the Sotho they brought mixed with the local luyana language forming the language we now call Lozi that’s why the pronunciations differ a little but trust me we can communicate and fairly understand each other I do it all the time with my Sotho friends we are one people ❤️

Wa peka wena... The oldest Sotho/tswana tribe southern Africa is Bahurutshe (from Botswana and some in SA). They are the ones who arrived in the south first, followed by others like Bakwena etc, Basotho come from Batswana contrary to what the white man claims in books, any serious Tswana scholar knows this, Sesotho is a washed down diluted version of Setswana (Sesotho is mixed with other languages hence why it has clicks or words borrowed from the ndebele etc). Balozi come from Basotho but obviously their dialect is even more diluted and mixed with other Zambian languages hence why some of the words they use are foreign to Setswana. Linguistically speaking, Setswana (spoken by those in Botswana, mainly Bakwena, Bahurutshe, Bakgatla etc) is the purest and closest to the original Tswana spoken by our ancestors. The rest of the Sotho / Tswana dialects are corrupted and heavily influenced by other languages

The Sotho-Tswana language are the only unique ones that end every word in a nasal consonant "ng" except the Sesotho word "Isao". But generally, they're the only ones. Silozi is not rooted in Sesotho, it just adopted many Sesotho words because Sebitoane forbade the native population from using their language and only using Sesotho. So the language is 75% Sesotho and the remaining is vocabulary and consonants of Luhyi origin.

Rubix Sentinel it’s actually a dialect of Sotho that’s why 75% of the language is still Sotho
They didn’t adopt Sotho words that would mean they incorporated a few words into the original language if they did most of Lozi today would still be mostly Siluyana but it isn’t the opposite is the case
The reason for the phonetic variation is because of the language style of the area it was transplanted to it followed the phonetic style of siluyana which is very expected as most people will pronounce words in a new language based on how used they are to other languages they speak and also yes the other 25% is siluyana I am hoping to one day learn this beautiful dying language of siluyana our culture must be preserved

      Selozi is Lozi from Namibia.
Kholebedu is mix of pedi and venda from limpopo.
The only reason of similarities of Lozi and Sotho if cuz of history between basotho and lozi wars and history between the 2 tribes

Not a part of Sotho-Tswana group but in Mozambique the biggest language is called Makuwa, it shares some interesting similarities with Sotho-Tswana, like ho leta would be 'lita/leta' also in Makuwa, in other words, where other Ntu languages have Nd, Sotho-Tswana and Makuwa changed it to T; where we have Mp as in MPaka, Sotho-Tswana has phaga while Makuwa has Pakha
