I love gardening too much so this wouldnt be for me. But if i didn't, the idea of getting some of what you need by walking down some stairs is really nice especially since i hate cold and rain. This concept already exists in Europe.
Single use spaces definitely are to rigid. Spaces need to be flexible.

@@gcc2313 they do have some green spaces where residents can plant things in other mall areas. Not the Arcade but I have seen other malls.

If some people like this type of living, wonderful. There's no greenery, eating out can get expensive and the safety of coming and going before and after mall hours.

@@lauvonfr9222 yes saving lots of money on dining out. I would imagine residents would have a slight discount as part of the deal living there.

Now I'm starting to wonder how mall shopping was ever safe. All those dark stores with no way out in an emergency?

@@linnieb6226 most definitely there are dark areas where it’s primed for criminals lurking around for victims. Not to mention the safety in parking lots from car racing, gang activity. The only good thing is the number of security cameras around and possibly security patrolling the grounds.

Great idea, watch greed with the over charging for a tiny space.

hahaha sad but true. Her space is 250 sf and look at how much she's paying

For some quick perspective: 34 million square feet: = 1.2 square miles. OR (roughly) 68,000 500sq ft apartments. If those 500 square foot apartments were side by side they would stretch for almost 6.5 miles (I think!)

@@Mark-vx7vf wow loving the math. That’s quite a stretch of apartments

Maybe just maybe these apartments would be good for foreign college students. None of these mall apartments have children. They have specific rules. No cooking kitchen.

@@Dolsie-tv6mh that’s true. Used for dorm rooms and the RAs can live on site to monitor them.
