- For my eldest Son who was studying engineering at school in 2010. It kept him off his PlayStation for a while, he learned how to turn a spanner and much more besides. Disciplines acquired such as riveting painting and electrics were among the many. Buy the story by following the link below.

Wow. If I ever want to see a Concours example of my old 2a then I need go no further. Truly stunning
Stunning. Shame Land Rover is churning out plastic junk nowadays. I can’t see the new ones lasting this long!
What a great experience to share between father and son. The car is one thing, but that time spent together is the biggest reward. My father took the time to teach me his trade, I went on to become qualified in my own business and enjoy playing with car's to this day....Respect!
THANK YOU! You brought a lot of good memories, I bought one 1974 in Colorado, USA, just like this one, same color, with safari roof. It was underpowered, but fun. Since then, I had a 1999 Disco II, a 2009 Range Rover sport HSE and now I drive a very civilized Disco 4 HSE LUX. Soon to be replaced by a new Grenadier.
An absolutely stunning restoration with practical upgrades to make her usable in everyday life. I love the interior and the elephant grey colour of the panels compliment the green and limestone. The attention to detail in the insulating on the tropical roof and in the back body and all the riveting is great to see. A complete proper job, well done from another Land Rover fan
Thank you for your kind words and compliments.
One can only aspire to come close to your restoration, truly great job!
talk about a restoration that will take this landy into the 20nd century with ease. Defiantly something to be proud off, a lot of hard work, most defiantly but so so rewarding. To think about all those genuine parts that are inside and hidden from pain view but helping every bit out with the smooth mechanical operation!
Got to be one of the best around. The most important thing you kept it original and didn't change anything vital to it's historic design. well done.
Beautiful work mate. I cry that I can't do it as well as you. I had a long wheel base 2A back in '73. Loved it.
beautiful, attention to detail is amazing have done this twice,to my 63 landy and i truly appreciate the time and love it takes to do this, truly a labour of love, and well done for passing on your knowledge and skills to the next generation, stunning job ATB Andy.
Job well done sir. Good to see, especially seeing another series rover being restored.
Thank you very much for this presentation.
Exquisite work with better attention to detail than an assembly line roller. Color is beyond beautiful.
A superb restoration and finished in my favourite Land Rover color, well done.
Very Impressive! Great job teaching your son and keeping him off the PlayStation.
What a gorgeous restoration and awesome thing for you and your son to do together. I hope that my siblings and I some day get the chance to do something similar to our blue one. Thank you!
Yes, quite stunning, I would like to own one exactly like your restored Land Rover. Thank you for your wonderful video.
Excelent job, congratulations. It remember's me in 1990. I Have done something like this in a 109 S2A but with a much shorten budget.
Awesome, thanks for documenting the rebuild. I have a series 3 that my wife and I plan on rebuilding. Very inspiring. Thanks again.
Absolutely beautiful!! must have been so cool to do this with your kids! inspiring!
Fantastic! Great music too. I'm a yank and love my M38A1 Jeep but would love to have a Landie as well. The Hurricane, Spitfire, and Land
Rover; you guys saved the world with those machines!
As someone presently restoring a 1952 series can I say congratulations on a wonderful restoration. Its a total credit to all the obviously hard and detailed work that's gone into it.Hope you have many years of enjoyment from it
This was a project to give my son some engineering experience. Unfortunately we sold it immediately after. It was an expensive luxury for me to keep and to use it would have de-valued it enormously.
One of the best restorations I have ever seen. Fantastic job sir. I am contemplating the very same with my 15 yr old son. Truly inspirational.
Now,that's a restoration.I've seen many other so called restos, but none come close.Part of me can't look, when I think of the running repairs to my series 3.Brilliant
Beautiful work - I hope you're proud of it. Thanks for sharing.
that is what you call a real do , none your wheeler dealer rubbish . a real pleasure to see someone who obviously has a great deal of skill . if i have the dosh i would have it in a flash . i drove one of these doing a milk round many years , i was hooked i did a series 3 body off ect but never the detail you did ( i did it outside ) . i enjoyed every minute of this production . very well done .
G’day and greetings from Tasmania Australia, congratulations on a superb restoration she is a real credit to everyone involved regards John
Wow that was a amazing job of restoring this landrover, i know what hard work and skill it takes to do a build like this, my father was a enginier, he was a draughts man, on contract and worked for BOE and major airlines, mending aeroplanes and he was a toll maker as well, there was nothing he couldnt make or rework, i take my hat off to you and your son, fantastic job done, that land rover will be round for another 40yrs
Fantastic job. You must be over the moon. Congratulations !!
That is an amazing restoration. Absolutely beautiful!
AWESOME.The attention to detail is immense.Well done mate.Im a sucker for detail. Thanks for your upload.

Brings back memories I learn to drive on one just like yours with the (Safari roof ) we call it here in Portugal I was only 14 came from Africa wen we left the Colonies.I Think it was older because of the rods on the steering wheel. You and your boys did a great job thanks for the video
Hi have only admiration for the work that has been put into this rebirth of an icon, not only was it a fantastic compilation of excellent still's, the music was a tour de force, I would just like to say well done to all who took part. regards Peter
Better than new. To bad it was sold. I'm working on my IIA and learned a lot of tips from this video.
Amazing. I'm going to embark on a project like this with my son, so It'll be ready for when he passes his test. Worth all the hard work, it looks brilliant. another Landy saved from the scrap heap. Well done.
Thanks a lot. Magnificent vehicle. Great work. Learned a lot for my IIA, too.
what a beauty! Great Job mate
Beautiful work and an inspiration and motivation for others to follow.
Holy shit mate attention to detail is just awesome well done dude you should be well proud of it ✌️✌️
That's perfect job . It's a long time restoration, but it has a really great result . I have this Land Rover serie too, but the wheelbase is 110 inch . Thanks for inspiring Me, You so awesome ....
A thing of beauty. I'd rather have this than a new defender.
Un trabajo perfecto. Me alegro de que haya gente que restaure estos vehículos. Espero que lo cuidéis y disfrutéis durante mucho tiempo.
Seriously gorgeous!
Thats one gorgeous Series 2
Beautiful job. Nice to see I am not the only one that knows that right is right and the rest is rubbish LOL Mine you I was a Tool Maker which might have something to do with it. Just starting on mine if it is half as good I will be pleased. Well done Sir, Well done.
this one is my favourite restoration. it's perfect.
wow amazing work, well done guys.
I bought a wreck of a 1968 series 2a Safari a few days ago, so I will start on my quest to renovate her, find the Holy 1st handbook of the first one built and she will explore under the stars forever! I have no workshop anymore, not even a bench only a field to work in! Going to make lifting the engine out fun!
Strip the whole thing down so all you have is a chassis standing on blocks with the engine supported.. Than get a pal to help you lift the chassis off the engine. A block and tackle with an A frame would be handy though. Good Luck.
Wow that looks great !
Simply wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
another haunting Hans Zimmer score..and another beautiful save of an icionic vehicle..Bravo!
Beautiful job guys.
Superb, your skills shine through. I hope you are justifiably pleased with the results of your labours
my family own a land rover series 2, I tought that being a series II it should had the lamp on the middle, but I think my dad had it modified when he was younger. anything else looks very similar with your land rover. Hopefully I could rebuild it as beautifully as you did. We had to postponed it right now since my mom is seriously ill, but this vids keep the spirit high, I hope that some day I could restore it to its former glory, just as you did.... Too bad you had to sold this Landy...
Yh the Series iia from 1971 had the light like the series iii, this make this that much more of an amazing landy
Amazing work! Kudos!
Vau!!!!!

You see the word restoration dosen't just apply to polishing and n oil change, I mean come on ITS A complete 'tear down' and complete rebuild.
Sir I have to take my hat off to you !

I reckon there have been quite a few nights in the garage ha ha
wooooow....amazing work, i think i need to work on my series 3 as well :)
2nd time of watching and i am exercising my demons by rebuilding a 109 s3, it will be inspired by your rebuild, but a little less money and time spent . good work and thanks .

Gracias, I am in Alicante at the moment on the promenade, watching some people dancing to some swing music as we enjoy tapas and San Miguel. 👍
Nice sound....
Brilliant ! watched every second !!!!
Amazing, my dream is to do the same thing myself one day! These cars are the best! Rolling around in my step fathers 2004 110 defender and i love it, but i would like to restore an old one just like you :)
Awesome, thats how i learnt to muck around with cars. My dad bought me a 50 dollar suzuki Jimny and we rebuilt the little f10a motor in it. Fantastic vehicle, but doesn't spend much time under 3000 rpm.
Muy bueno, bello clásico vehículo
Y muy bueno el fondo musical
Fan Bloody Tastic!! I loved this vid.
great work
