Come back to this video from time to time as a fresher and it's hands down the best quick breakdown of Fabric Connect I've ever come across. Ed is a fantastic teacher
Not only is this an amazing technical lesson but how good is his backwards writing!
You couldn't pay for a better lesson.
Extraordinarily clear explanation and a great grounding in SPBM. Well done indeed!
This is by far the most informative youtube video I've ever watched.
By far
I'm not educated on networking and I understood almost everything he said. Brilliant walk through for sure!
Excellent discussion of the best protocol/architecture in the industry. Great job, Ed.
goddammit, that is one of the best network classes I ever got.
Amazed at your availability to write backwards!
Amazing! He literally knows it frontwards and backwards.
Very nice overview of 802.1ah and its pieces. Some questionable statements in his presentation:
1- IS-IS is in an IGP, a link state IGP. You are not eliminating IGP. You are simply using the most versatile version of IGP ever created.
2- OSPF convergence is pretty good because it uses the same link state structure and maintains the same LSDB mentioned as the reason behind fast convergence in your 'flat-stack'. RIP hasn't been a thing for such a long time and putting OSPF and RIP in one category is blasphemous. OSPF and IS-IS are basically the same family of IGPs...
3- Top down dependency is ALWAYS there. Unplug a live port on your switch to test my theory :P
4- You are not eliminating BGP. Metro-Ethernet services used the same concept for end to end connectivity years ago. You can eliminate iBGP or route redistribution between BGP and IGPs within YOUR Autonomous System but your customer will eventually need to get out of your AS to reach some random corner of the internet that only BGP can find the path to it.
so clear! Thanks for this exposé.
This is fantastic. Well done.
Very VERY interesting. I am just getting into fabric. Thankyou for this explanation.
Great explanation. Just turned up a fabric connect network with VSP 7400's in an ISP environment. Great fit.
Excellent ! You made it very easy.
Awesome session. Loved it
Really good explanation.
Very insightful, thanks.
Excellent presentation
Fantastic presentation....... 👏👍
this video blown my mind . . .
Excellent!
Just awesome 👍
