Oh MAN!! 😃 Your Pop’s was a hell of a collector! It would be cool to see if he had any key issues from Marvel or even what’s the most valuable book in his collection. Dude I’m actually jealous and envy the fact that you get to dig through and old long box! Definitely part two but definitely show off some keys!👍🏼👍🏼 Just by the organization of his collection you can tell his collection meant a lot to him.

As a father of 2 daughters, I would not count on it. Don't force it on them, and maybe you will get lucky. I had my oldest interested and reading Harley Quinn for about 2 years... Then she moved on to Manga and goth... Now, she hates my comic book collection, and my younger daughter hates as well... I try to teach them general knowledge for down the road when I am long gone and they don't care... I will eventually sell the collection and bank the money as I fear somebody will just rip them off and make a RUclips video about it. Lol..

I'm envious of everyone who got to read Death of Superman before watching Superman:Doomsday or BvS. It was heartbreaking yet thrilling seeing his duel to the death with Doomsday play out on the big screen but I would've liked to have read it the way everyone was initially exposed to it. The way I hear it told, when the original Death of Superman storyline was unfolding in the comics, it was such big deal that even non comic book readers were heading out in droves to comic book shops to buy the physical issues. Even with DC and Marvel superhero movies and tv shows being as big as they are today, you still wouldn't expect to see something like that in modern times. Comic books are unfortunately so niche even now. Shame, they don't know what they're missing out on.
Yup I was 9 when this story was going on… I remember comics were so popular back then that my small town in Kansas had 2 comic shops.!! I remember when that issue came out there was literally lines going out the door and around the block!! On both stores! People thought that comic was going to make them rich 🤦🏽♂️ it was crazy
That was during the speculation bubble in the 90's. Many were buying books left and right as an investment believing they'd be worth 100x more in the future.
Shit I read the novel ….no pictures and waaaaaaay more story and I was in middle school. Highly recommended

You should upgrade those boxes if you put them in newer boxes you preserve them better they make new plastic vans that are really nice or you can just put some new cardboard boxes will be better for the long-term

When I was really young, I found some of my dad's comics and trades. Death of Superman was also one of the first stories I read along with Batman Death in the Family. Those started my love of comic books. I've been almost consistently collecting since 1998, with a few breaks here and there.

Imagine getting into comics and finding out ur dad has a stash? 😂 This makes me want to watch the movie Mallrats again for the 50th time… also I liked that u edited the list of the names instead of the covers 😂🤦♂️
My dads was like 68’ silver age..his was Thor , avengers , iron man, captain marvel heavy silver age marvel shyt but his was only like 3 long boxes… and a lot of them are pretty thrashed.
Haha your dad is like my era 90’s but I only pretty much was only spawn and asm McFarlane heavy, that’s all I collect is spawn really. I’m more artist specific… I’ll go after like all Jim Lee stuff… Marc silvestri, Adam Hughes I like certain people and I’ll try to get everything I can from one person 😊 is kinda how I go about it

@bryzworld I stopped in early 2000s. Started getting back into them 2 years ago.
It is awesome you 2 share the joy of this hobby. I started collecting for that same reason. I wanted something I could pass down to my kids. As well as share the hobby with. Hasn't happened yet, still hoping to, some day.
One thing I would like to bring up. The curl happening to the comics is from improper weight distribution. Bring this up to your dad. Hopefully he can catch it before it gets worse.
Also totally jealous he has the body bags series. Kind of like fate actually! Not sure if he would let you read it, it is quite dark. I say that because it has to do with a father and daughter. Your dad can tell you more if he thinks it's appropriate. Can't wait to see part 2.
