Honestly, instead of trying to get ppl who mainly read manga to comics, Image should be the way to go as far as recommendations go instead of Marvel and DC
Literally how I got into comics. Read manga, read invincible, read fear agent, became a image comics junkie. The manga image comics s pipeline is way stronger than the manga marvel/dc pipeline I’d say.
That's almost everything on my pull/reading list. They've been as of now my only reading. Killer stories and very well written. There's one more that you didn't mention that I'm loving is Local Man (image comics). Definitely worth reading and I can't recommend it enough.
I have heard great things about Local Man, and the reviews have been solid. Awesome to see I share a banger pull list with many wonderful readers out there.
Image got me into comics, back in the 90s! They're the reason why I got back into it, as well. So... hellyes! Image is amazing! Need to get my hands on Rook Exodus asap. Looks amazing. Currently reading all of Remender's work and boy... did I miss out on some gems!
AWESOME VIDEO! Image did for my love of comics almost exactly what manga did which was gave me a MASSIVE second wind! I always followed the big 2 ever since I was a younger kid collecting singles every Wednesday. Once I got into the collected editions I dove into image in a BIG WAY and maaaaan was it some of the best comics I’ve ever read. So much creativity and risk taking because there’s no DC or Marvel editor calling the shots. While I’ll always be a fan of the big 2 primarily I still found a new love for comics because of image. Keep up the great content!
Thank you Illuminerdy, well said, the big 2 have some iconic characters that will continue to entertain us till the end of time. Whilst Image is now the factory of wild and wonderful ideas just like manga, what a great time to be alive as a comic book reader/collector.
Nice books! I’ve never heard of Napalm Lullaby, but it does sound interesting. You were right-this was really close to the video on non-DC/Marvel superhero books I suggested last time, haha. Since you appreciated my feedback before, here’s some more: -You're doing great from what I can see, and I noticed a lot of comments with recommendations. It’s awesome that you’re listening to them, but just be careful not to get pulled in too many random directions. It might be helpful to plan ahead for multiple video ideas when you’re buying books. -I think I saw a few comments asking for manhwa. (You could do that list of time experience just like you did with manga!) -I noticed some comments asking for comic book recommendations for manga fans. (You could definitely do that, and maybe include Unbelievable Gwenpool in the list.) That’s it for now. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Hue Hue, very true. I have some videos in the making, but I am a little slow. I like the comic book recommendations for manga lovers concept, so that one should go on the list. Really appreciate the feedback and the vote of confidence, now back to the lab again.
Great recs Casper! I'm definitely enjoying Johns' Ghost Machine books and Tynion's stuff is always great. I recommend Local Man and The Sacrificers. Both are stellar. Cheers.
I’m glad you are enjoying Napalm Lullaby. As a self proclaimed Rick Remender “super fanatic”, I love seeing people read his new work. I am really enjoying The Sacrificers and Napalm Lullaby and recommend people to add it to their pull list. Great video keep it up 🎉🙌
Thank you Jordan, love seeing and hearing from Remender fanatics, I too adore his work and need to make more time for his creations. Great recommendations, I will keep an eye for the Sacrificers deluxe edition.
GDay old mate great to see ya 👋 I have to agree with the majority of your video for Image Comics recommendations and the ones I don't agree on are because I haven't had the chance to read them yet 😉 Geoff Johns is a true master of his writing skills (I have thoroughly enjoyed 99.95% I have read of his work) and then you combine him with another true master of their craft, Jason Fabok, then IMO you have a instant classic in your hands 🤘🔥❤👍 Being considered an old fart these days I thought I would try out the digital medium for reading comics/ collected editions etc and once i got over the not having something tangible in my hands whilst reading I have found myself enjoying reading comics on my tablet and even more so when I found out I could finish all those DC Batman/Family titles I was reading back in the mid 90s, being able to read Chuck Dixon's run on Nightwing for the first 50 issues was a real treat for me and that is just the beginning. It also is a hell of a lot cheaper for me to read like this instead of buying them, now I can check out an issue or 2 of a particular run and if I like it then it goes onto the potential to be bought list. Anyways I'll stop rambling on and just say that Image Comics have a better assortment of varying titles to read across their range when compared to the big 2 and offer more eclectic choices for your reading pleasure. Take Care Mate
I love a good ramble! hahaha, it's great to see people embracing comics in different formats and discovering the benefits that come with them. Who knows, I too might be picking up a tablet in the near future. So great to hear you reading some Nightwing, that's a run I would love to experience some day. Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok is such an epic combo! This is a pretty great era with talented artists and writers coming together, the intense competition in the comic space has made us readers the biggest winners. Great hearing from you KJB, take care and I'll catch you soon.
I have just about as many Image comics as I do DC and Dark Horse. Saga, Monstress, and Rat Queens, I remember enjoying all of these and I should reread them. Gorgeous artwork in all three. I'll definitely check out The Deviant. I love a good horror comic, Nailbiter is another one from Image I remember liking quite a bit.
One I have my eye on is Minor Arcana by Jeff lemire. Issue 1 comes out soon. It’s an ongoing horror series from boom studios and it’s described as “for fans of Locke and key!” 😍😍😍
13:10 I just finished last evening Something is killing the children, Vol. 1, it looked interesting , but I guess I’d need to keep reading it to enjoy it’s essence 😊
I reccomend the massiveverse which no/one is a part of! Radiant black, rogue sun, dead lucky, and inferno girl red are all a part of this comic universe
Because comic shops are rare and far in my region, I like ordering from MyComicShop online, the price is fairly reasonable with a subscription, but the downside, you will be 1 month behind comics most of the time.
@@comiccasper3053 thank you! I’m also from Australia and am getting into collecting comics, in particular the sweet hardcover deluxe editions from Image!

In my opinion, the best Image Comics are the ones that were released In the early 1990's ! The first Issues of Spawn, Youngblood, Brigade, WildCATS, Gen13, Savage Dragon, Cyberforce, and Shadowhawk, were the best comic books from the summer of 1992. This Is my opinion. @TheTurtle1100 reading saga for me got me thinking why can't the industry be like this instead of it being dominated by Marvel and DC
Image has always been awesome...they're the main reason I still read comics 😊
Absolutely, makes me so happy to see how far they have come, and they have weathered every economic storm.

Great recommendations. Try Rogue Sun if u can. It has a freaking well crafted story telling
I have seen this one floating around, super keen to pick this up in deluxe when they decide to drop it.

Geiger, Redcoat, and Transformers Energon Universe have undoubtedly been the best comics of 2024.

I really recommend Chew, Farmhand, Revival, Nailbiter, Injection, Manhattan Projects, and Gideon Falls
