I would love to see a video on how Collections relate to themselves. I haven't seen a single video explaining this!
Using a "Contacts" screen on my app as an example:
1. Each user is a Contractor with their own company account.
2. Each Contractor can have multiple Contractor contacts.
3. Contractors in their contacts list can be categorized as "My Contractors", My Sub Contractors", "My Referrals", or any combination of the three.
4. Adding a Contractor to your contacts list automatically adds all of their company info to the list.

Thanks Patrick for the explanation. I've one doubt however. How do we establish a 1:1 relationship in Adalo? For instance, let's talk about a multi vendor e-commerce system. The same product may be sold by multiple vendors. Each vendor is selling a product for different prices. So here we have 3 collections; Product, Vendor and Price. Ideally the Price collection should have a 1:1 relationship with Product and Vendor. But I couldn't find a way to do that. I assume all the collections should ideally be listed in the "Add Property" list. Am I right here or can my requirement be modelled in a different way?

Great video Patrick. Just wanted to hear from you. Is it possible to build an app in adalo that does user specific calculations. I.e each user gives inputs and some calculations are done based on that users inputs using an existing dataset and then a result is returned to the user?

Hi Patrick, First - thank you for taking the time to clearly layout database steps. I removed and added columns after I had started testing the app. The app did not acknowledge the changes on the screens nor could I get the magic text for the new columns. I found that when I deleted the form on one screen and then created a new form, referenced the Data Collection Profiles and then the changed columns showed up in the form. Is this what I have to do any time I change the structure of the database? BTW, Love Adalo -- Thanks, Mary

Thanks, man. That explains a lot. Yet I have a question. I’m making an ordering app. I have menu categories->menu items->menu item and then order item. Yet I can’t put this order item to the cart. It doesn’t give current item… I wanted to stop doing it already because I just can’t get past this point. Maybe you can help me out?

Thank you this is super helpful! How would you go about "collaborators"? So that you can share a folder for example with other users on your apps. I can easily add the "author" as it is a one to many but i cant add collaborators (many to many).

Yes you do, unless you use a different database for everything.

For this you would need to store images in a separate collection with an image property and a text property called "description".
