    I am a New York born and bred Italian. My grandmother came from Baranello Italy, providence Campobosso. In 2005 l move to Kentucky from NY. I grew up in a predominantly Italian area, Rome, Utica, Oneida, Syracuse area home of some really great Italian food. Being in Kentucky it is hard to find homegrown Italian food so I have had to learn how to make, sauce, sausage, bread, and other things I remember. My wife and I now host an authentic Italian dinner for our friends and neighbors once a month. Thanks to your channel we were able to serve your rustic Italian bread for our New Years day gathering! Homemade sweet sausage, hot sausage, meatballs, sauce and three different kinds of Italian bread! Good times, good wine, great food. Grazie!

They took foods like calamari, (for example) and made it delicious. Americans didn’t eat foods like that because they used calamari as bate. Now you pay for it in restaurants.

    Thank you for this video! I've been working on my New York style pizza for the last few months and I'm making great progress but I've never made a loaf of bread in my life. I found with the pizza dough changing the speed after the first two to four minutes to go faster made it look like your pizza dough and easier to handle and work with. Do you keep it on low the whole time and how many minutes mixing with the KitchenAid I've got the same machine as yours. Thank you and here's hoping for a happy New Year and peace on Earth. Cheers!

    Hey my Brooklyn Brothers, I love your recipe, just found you here on "da tube "……..Best of luck to you both..
    I myself am Brooklyn born and breed….first Ridgewood/ Glendale (41-55) then Greenpoint (55-65) With 6 years donated to the USMC ( 59-65)…..I’m retired from. Da Job and for the last 25Yrs residing on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.. The area is really hurting for good MOM and Pop family restaurants….. Dat hurts but what hurts even more is the stuff they call bread….. totally tasteless……..unless you find a rare good quality place.. They put…… Ole Bay ….on everything down here……..personally I hate the stuff … it kills you flavor buds…. Any way…… recently celebrated a milestone birthday and when the kids(all three of whom still reside on the Island asked me what it was I wanted… I asked them to treat the whole family to a delicious Family Served dinner at a restaurant that was around in my childhood days (1940"s)and still is owned and operated by the same family…. Namely Bamonti’s 32 Wither ST, in da Garden Spot …..the place is still phenomenal. I know well, its legendary reputation and do remember that there was a time when the front two tables as you walked were reserved no matter what time you got there. Needless to say, the place no longer reserves the front two tables but the food is still I the same…thanks to Nichole and Peter …….LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING MORE OF YOU TWO GUYS …. Rusty Iron Mike 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 9:40 9:40

      Hi Mike! Welcome to our family! We are from the Greenpoint area as well and very familiar with Bamontes. There’s nothing like the Italian food in New York.

    Congrats on your 1000th! Ok, now a question: You placed this bread mix mound on top of the sheet- does it NEED to be in an open space like that? Would it not rise/cook well in a bread pan? Or does it need to baked with no sides touching it? I can't wait to try this bread!

      Thanks Tammy! I’ve never used a bread pan before. I think the bread wouldn’t have the same crust using that type of pan.

    Bro, how did you go from having the dough in stainless steel to a glass bowl ?

    • @BrooklynBrothersCooking
      @BrooklynBrothersCooking  2 года назад

      The stainless steel bowl was from the Kitchen-Aid mixer and then placed into a glass bowl. Video magic.

    I had Bread Flour in the pantry and tried using it. Using the same measurements, it didn't come out of the mixer as wet as yours. Does Bread Flour absorb more water than standard all purpose flour?

      I don’t think so. A tablespoon of more or less can make a difference. You can also adjust it while it’s mixing.
