Back to alternate history stuff. This is focusing on just the North American portion of the Seven Years War, or 'French and Indian War' as it was to the British colonists. I will come back on this scenario eventually. If you like the plush, you can get it here for a limited time. bit.ly/3gNYMHa

Those islands were completely depopulated by the Brits during the late 18th century (twice, IIRC). The current French speaking population there are descendents of settlers from post-revolutionary France and do not have any historical ties to New France. Sure, France owned the islands on paper but they were just empty rocks for a while.
They do have a modest amount of shared culture with the rest of Canada, due to mass media, travel and education (while most residents get higher education in France, some opt to go to Quebec and New Brunswick). They're viewed as French by French Canadians and they view themselves as such, albeit with a greater affinity with Canada and North America.

The French generally had fairly good relations with most indigenous populations except the Iroquois Confederacy (which was a longtime British ally). Native trade networks and populations were actively part of French economic activity in New France. Intermarriage was also more common between French colonials and indigenous peoples, especially among the French traders who actively interacted with the natives. I could easily see the French encouraging the formation of an allied and organized indigenous nation as a counterbalance to the British colonists. Odds are the French would view it as a vassal state or protectorate but lack the inclination or manpower to prevent it gaining autonomy. So long as the Brits remain as a common enemy and the French don't plan to encourage mass migration, good relations would just make economic sense to them. Exactly how this major change in circumstances plays out for Tecumseh's life story is anyone's guess. Wild indeed!

@@bcvetkov8534 If the French Ancien Régime avoided the cost of the American Revolution and gained extra colonial wealth from India (assuming that they won the Seven Years' War as decisively as the British did in our timeline), the financial crises that triggered the French Revolution probably get pushed back at least a few decades. The timing of Napoleon's rise gets disrupted and all sorts of butterfly effects occur. Does he fade into obscurity, become a revolutionary in Corsica, or perhaps end up leading a coup that replaces Louis XVI directly (skipping the revolution as we know it)? He lacked the social status to match his ambition and talent in the old system but it is hard to imagine he doesn't somehow do something. Heck, just imagine if he spearheaded Corsican independence and then expanded into Italy, triggering Italian unification decades ahead of our timeline. It gives his Roman inspired aesthetic a whole new level of authenticity. Mussolini didn't have the chops to revive the Roman Empire, but Napoleon focused on Italy rather than France? Hmm.

@@inigobantok1579 Yes, but sometimes pre-existing smaller wars get subsumed into larger wars when looking back in hindsight. And it's the result of the later starting larger war that defines the result of the earlier starting smaller one. e.g. the war between Japan and China began in 1937 (or possibly 1933). But it was resolved by the US defeat of Japan in WWII. So it's now considered a single theatre of WWII that just happened to start early. History can be weird like that sometimes, but it does make sense when considering the bigger picture.

The thing is, it's not just that the Natives and the French colonists would be stronger, the Thirteen Colonies would be much weaker. In 1770 in the real world, they had a population of 2 million. In 1830 it was nearly 13 million. That growth did not come from birth rate but from immigration and without the expansion to the west, immigration in the Thirteen colonies would be considerably slower. In fact, a lot of those immigrants would probably go to New France instead even if they don't speak french. After all, a lot of immigrants in the US did not speak english at first either. And that's without considering the damage Napoleon would do. So between stronger natives and french colonists on top of a weaker US, I don't think they expand west at all. They certainly would try to at some point. But they would fail, especially as their enemies take advantage of the Civil War.
Also, no war of 1812 probably means Andrew Jackson isn't elected so Florida will remain in the hands of the natives for a while and military expansion is not an especially appealing prospect for the US without Jackson.

I think the ideal point of Divergence would be the death of Elizabeth Tsarina and Empress Russia. When she died, her nephew became Peter III (who was Frederick the Great biggest fanboy). Russia immediately went from attacking the prussians to supporting them known as the miracle of the House of Brandenburg. If Elizabeth lived a few more months, the prussians would have been crushed in the French and Austrian victory with Frederick as a foolish upstart King.

    Alternate alternate history:
New France keeps French at least until Napoleon. With Napoleon in power, as in our timeline, Spain becomes an ally of Napoleon, but in this case the Spanish ally is so important in the defense of New France from the British (and they manage so good) that Napoleon decides not to betray the Spanish royal family. So, there is no Peninsular War, except for Portugal, which is conquered. Without that war, the continous "bleeding" of the French army doesn't happen... And Napoleon wins. A new French-dominated Europe emerges, while the Americas continue more or less the same: Spanish, French and English, without independences... except maybe the one of Brazil, technically independent, formally the only part of Portugal that remains independent.

I think that you’re forgetting that
    A. Most French Canadians, being religious catholics unaffected by the problems that lead to the French Revolution would probably be strongly opposed to it which combined with a fleeing Royal government and an influx of Emigres would probably make it the base of an Ancien Regime in Exile (as seen with Brazil), thus preventing the British from invading and bringing in even more emigres, which in turn would bulk up it’s French population.
    B. Even if they side with the Revolution (which I see as highly unlikely) Metternich and Talleyrand would probably oppose a British Takeover in order to restore the status quo and to retain the balance of power between colonial empires
    C. Speaking of the French Revolution, because French debt would be far less the French Revolution, while not butterflied could be much less radical than OTL with a group more like the Feuillants or Girondins taking control and in turn leading France into more of a constitutional monarchy, but this is just speculation
