Surfed every other day in Washington and now I'm stuck in Colorado with no waves. Trust me, enjoy the surf when you can, life is short. Don't lose sight of the adventure and thrill. It's a shame when someone falls into the melancholy of life when they're so close to bliss.

not as bad as it sounds with the cold. we surf throughout the winter here in the northeast, when the water drops to 37 and the air is sometimes below 20 (of course we never get surf of this size), and with modern wetsuit technology, it is really not that cold once you get in the water and get moving. i have been colder trunking it in july then i have been with a 5/4 in march
From Homer AK, surf all winter in my 6 mil which keeps me warm enough for a good session or two a day. It can be somewhat consistant in the dead of winter however surfed Yaki last year and its good all the time however rarely that big. Best waves I've ever got in AK were in Kodiak at pasagshak and a couple we pioneered around Boulder Bay.

even if the water has salt it will freeze if it is below 15 f out unless its cacl salt, then it is even lower
those full wetsuites are so thick they kinda look like brown bears out there surfing lol!
shit i live in england and i surf north devon and that gets cold but DAM ME. theresthe love those guys are mental RESPECT
@damicaba Yeah dude, im from the north of england, I surf a place called Saltburn, get swells of up to 6-7ft which isnt the best, but still a real good time!

I have friends that leaved in north of England, (they live in the Algarve where i live), they tell me how nice the surf was on the north sea, hehehehehe God bless, Carrapateira, Faro, Praia do Amado, etc

@outOFthePITT Alaska only has the biggest(actually we have tsunami size like i the bering sea and had the largest one in the 50's reaching over 1700 ft. O.O) which i know thats not what kind of waves your talking about. lol
