This was me 4 years ago, and getting rejected was the worst thing to ever happen to me because i've only dreamt of that school through all my school years. But now, it's the best thing that has ever happened to me, i've met the best people in the college i'm in right now and my major is exactly what i want. sometimes things don't work out just for you to realize that it turns out exactly the best way it should be.

I got rejected from my dream school 4 years ago, but after attending a different school I have learned that in the end it was what's best for me :) I remember graduating from high school thinking I was going to do xxx career at xxx school, but everything went 100% the opposite way, but it was the way in which was the FAR better path. God's got that plan!

I got rejected from a medical school I really wanted to get into last year and I felt so defeated. To work so hard for something to see it not come to fruition is not easy to get passed but as you grow and evolve you realize sometimes “failures” make for better lessons 💛
Honey, I got grades in the top 0.2% of my year in the UK and was told all through school that I would have no problem getting into university and I got rejected by all 5 schools I applied to. It sucks, but it doesn't mean we're any less worthy. If anything, it's a chance for us to show our resilience and get up and try again. In a few years, this will be a funny memory❤
I was accepted to BYU Hawaii but then I decided to serve a mission before attending. During my mission, I had an accident and had to come home earlier than anticipated for knee surgery. BYU Hawaii told me that they wouldn't honor my deferral because I came home early from my mission (no matter the reason), but they told me I could re-apply. So I did. I was fully expecting to be re-accepted because I had submitted the exact same application two years prior, but I got that same rejection email too. I was crushed. Fast forward a bit, and I'm at a college I absolutely LOVE and I know it's where I'm supposed to be. I'm so thankful that God sees more than I do, and that He is in control. I know He has a plan and a purpose for you, you beautiful girl, and you seem to know it too :) I'm cheering you on and wishing you nothing but the best!!

I got rejected from BYU twice, and I ended up going to UVU and it was the greatest thing to happen to me. I am so glad it worked out this way. UVU provides an environment where students have so many opportunities to get involved on campus, my advice to anyone attending UVU is to get involved it will make your college experience incredible!! Its hard when things don't work out the way we had hoped for, but there always seems to be a good reason for it!

I tried so hard to get into the SW program at UVU, applied 3 times. I then applied for the program at the University of Utah a year ago and got accepted and even got a scholarship. Sometimes things you want aren't really what's best for you. Being someone who is also LDS I believe that everything we go through can help us learn and grow and prepare us for more than we even hoped for. Sending love 💕

I was rejected from my dream school last year... let me tell you, I was devastated. I have never felt so dissapointed and lost, it was a nine month process for it to end in a no. I then kind of recovered and entered a different college, little did I know I needed to get into this other school to realize I didnt like my major choice, I had to go through heart break, anxiety and a lot of therapy to realize that if I had been accepted last year, I would've had to stick with that major for the next four years. The once pain now has helped me to have a lot more self awareness, leave my confort zone and learn about what I truly want to do. Everything happens for a reason, even if we dont like it, things will make sense eventually. Sending love to you Marla and anybody else who is in the same situation.

I did get rejected to 2 colleges that’s near the state that I live in back in the ending of last year or the beginning of this year (can’t remember), and honestly I’m kind of grateful that I did not get in. The main reason why I felt grateful was because I felt like my parents kept on pressuring me to apply to random colleges were I live, but I did not really take the time to do my research on each of the colleges that I was “thinking” of applying if that makes sense. Also, both of the colleges that I applied to and got rejected, those 2 colleges were really hard to get in, so I’m kind of happy that I did not get in, because it takes a lot of energy and commitment and I just wasn’t feeling it. Especially since at the time I was busy with school and other responsibilities at that time. But back to your video, I completely understand where you were coming from, and I’m actually glad that you did not get into your dream school because I had a feeling that you were not ready to leave your hometown/family/friends etc. I know that sounds rude or whatever, but it’s true. I’m just glad that you’re okay and your whole life is going the way it should be going. I love you Marla 😘! Keep doing what you’re doing 😉.
Hey m80, I don’t follow your vlogs but this one just popped up out of nowhere and I think it was an answer to my prayers! I recently received a letter from the mission department saying that my mission has to be delayed because of some medication I’m on (they need me to be stable and such haha) but it’s really been hard to see the bright side of that situation when I just want to be on a mission so bad yknow? But your example in the vid is just another testimony to me of Heavenly fathers plans for each of us! If we are faithful and just strive for obedience, all things shall work out for our good! Thanks for sharing your light and being a missionary in a very genuine and natural way!
Hey i’m a current student at byuh just wanted to let you know that this coming fall the school is focusing more on their international students so the percentage of US mainland applicants being accepted went waaaaaay down so seriously don’t take it personally…. you literally would have been accepted any other semester. hope that helps

I am now in a small college and if it weren’t because of that rejection, I would not have the job I have today. It has given me so many life opportunities otherwise ai would’ve missed. Have you looked into BYU FLEX? I was rejected from BYU Provo as well this year. Flex is evening classes at BYU as well as classes at the Salt Lake center. Once you get 25 credits you can transfer to BYU automatically, if that is what you are looking to do. I highly suggest looking into it. Best of luck ❤️

I just wanna say, it’s okay I got rejected from my top choices and then got accepted to one I didn’t even consider Ended up checking it out and going there…and I meet amazing people (classmates/friends and staff) and I don’t regret it one bit I developed myself as a person, so I thank God for leading me there God has this weird way of leading you to the place made for you at the correct time in your life…where you will receive and give out amazing things So you good..let it all take its course “If it’s not for you it doesn’t matter if you stand in-front of it, and if it is for you it doesn’t matter if you get out the way”

I was in the same boat this year as well Marla! I prayed and asked God to send me a message and I trusted in him that if I was meant to stay where I was than I’d be okay with that and he did. I was so focused on leaving and never got to fully enjoy and appreciate even attending school. It sucks in a way because you wanted it even if it wasn’t for you but God always has a plan and it’ll be worth it in the end. It’s okay to be sad too because that’s normal! I pray for you marla! 🤍
i feel the exact same way, my boyfriend and i being 18-19 weve been living on our own for a year now but we want to move to a more central area and no one will accept us because of our age, we know that we are fully responsible with our bills and rent payments but its hard being judged for your age, i respect your open”ness” to the letter and always look at your videos for a smile or motivation. thank you Marla ❤️ (and amanda ofc)
I think everything happens for a reason. If the universe wants you to stay at home there is a reason. I have gotten an acceptance letter from a college which is really hard to get into but tbh there is no sense of happiness. I never had a dream college because I knew if i got fixated on one, if I don't get in I'll not be able to take it well but on the other hand I always knew I wanted to go to a university out of my city. Here I'm with a really good University in hand which is well known for my course but everything in me can't think about leaving my home. It's so weird, a part of me think i should have been rejected and even from the ones I await the result for because then i don't have to make a decision and could just stay with my parents and in the city i very well known
That's ok marla. Here in Brazil we have the free public sistem, that we have to do a lot of exams for, and there are like, paid/particular ones, and it's that one that i'm doing, cause i did not pass none of the applications for the public one! Lmaaaao... life goes on. Godspeed!

I got rejected from my dream school and it sucked because I worked so hard for it. This video really brought so much comfort for me because I feel so alone and mentally exhausted in my community college.

I developed myself as a person, so I thank God for leading me there

I was in the same boat this year as well Marla! I prayed and asked God to send me a message and I trusted in him that if I was meant to stay where I was than I’d be okay with that and he did. I was so focused on leaving and never got to fully enjoy and appreciate even attending school. It sucks in a way because you wanted it even if it wasn’t for you but God always has a plan and it’ll be worth it in the end. It’s okay to be sad too because that’s normal! I pray for you marla! 🤍
i feel the exact same way, my boyfriend and i being 18-19 weve been living on our own for a year now but we want to move to a more central area and no one will accept us because of our age, we know that we are fully responsible with our bills and rent payments but its hard being judged for your age, i respect your open”ness” to the letter and always look at your videos for a smile or motivation. thank you Marla ❤️ (and amanda ofc)

I have gotten an acceptance letter from a college which is really hard to get into but tbh there is no sense of happiness. I never had a dream college because I knew if i got fixated on one, if I don't get in I'll not be able to take it well but on the other hand I always knew I wanted to go to a university out of my city.
Here I'm with a really good University in hand which is well known for my course but everything in me can't think about leaving my home.
It's so weird, a part of me think i should have been rejected and even from the ones I await the result for because then i don't have to make a decision and could just stay with my parents and in the city i very well known

That's ok marla. Here in Brazil we have the free public sistem, that we have to do a lot of exams for, and there are like, paid/particular ones, and it's that one that i'm doing, cause i did not pass none of the applications for the public one! Lmaaaao... life goes on. Godspeed!
