This was me 4 years ago, and getting rejected was the worst thing to ever happen to me because i've only dreamt of that school through all my school years. But now, it's the best thing that has ever happened to me, i've met the best people in the college i'm in right now and my major is exactly what i want. sometimes things don't work out just for you to realize that it turns out exactly the best way it should be.

I couldn't agree more! I got rejected from my dream school 4 years ago, but after attending a different school I have learned that in the end it was what's best for me :) I remember graduating from high school thinking I was going to do xxx career at xxx school, but everything went 100% the opposite way, but it was the way in which was the FAR better path.

Honey, I got grades in the top 0.2% of my year in the UK and was told all through school that I would have no problem getting into university and I got rejected by all 5 schools I applied to. It sucks, but it doesn't mean we're any less worthy. If anything, it's a chance for us to show our resilience and get up and try again. In a few years, this will be a funny memory❤
I got rejected from a medical school I really wanted to get into last year and I felt so defeated. To work so hard for something to see it not come to fruition is not easy to get passed but as you grow and evolve you realize sometimes “failures” make for better lessons 💛
I was accepted to BYU Hawaii but then I decided to serve a mission before attending. During my mission, I had an accident and had to come home earlier than anticipated for knee surgery. BYU Hawaii told me that they wouldn't honor my deferral because I came home early from my mission (no matter the reason), but they told me I could re-apply. So I did. I was fully expecting to be re-accepted because I had submitted the exact same application two years prior, but I got that same rejection email too. I was crushed. Fast forward a bit, and I'm at a college I absolutely LOVE and I know it's where I'm supposed to be. I'm so thankful that God sees more than I do, and that He is in control. I know He has a plan and a purpose for you, you beautiful girl, and you seem to know it too :) I'm cheering you on and wishing you nothing but the best!!
Whenever you get rejected from something it means something better is coming along. Thats what always happens for me.

I got rejected from BYU twice, and I ended up going to UVU and it was the greatest thing to happen to me. I am so glad it worked out this way. UVU provides an environment where students have so many opportunities to get involved on campus, my advice to anyone attending UVU is to get involved it will make your college experience incredible!! Its hard when things don't work out the way we had hoped for, but there always seems to be a good reason for it!
I go to UVU too and I agree! They very student orientated and I love it!

I applied for Fall 2022 at BYU-H too!!! Andddd I didn’t get in ☺️☺️ This video was literally so relatable about my experience with it too. I feel so grateful it’s over, and it’s definitely where the lord wants me.

BYU Provo is my dream college. I am about to be a senior (in high school) this year & I'm so stressed about it. Watching your video has given me so much comfort, & knowing that you put your trust in the Lord made me feel less stressed about what will happen. If the Lord wants me there, then I'll go for it, if not, He probably has a different plan for me.

My older sister moved to Hawaii for college and we were also super close. It's super hard because our relationship won't be the same. I love how vulnerable you are and open about your faith. You are so relatable and fun. Anyway thank you for always making my smile in each video you make :)
I did get rejected to 2 colleges that’s near the state that I live in back in the ending of last year or the beginning of this year (can’t remember), and honestly I’m kind of grateful that I did not get in. The main reason why I felt grateful was because I felt like my parents kept on pressuring me to apply to random colleges were I live, but I did not really take the time to do my research on each of the colleges that I was “thinking” of applying if that makes sense. Also, both of the colleges that I applied to and got rejected, those 2 colleges were really hard to get in, so I’m kind of happy that I did not get in, because it takes a lot of energy and commitment and I just wasn’t feeling it. Especially since at the time I was busy with school and other responsibilities at that time. But back to your video, I completely understand where you were coming from, and I’m actually glad that you did not get into your dream school because I had a feeling that you were not ready to leave your hometown/family/friends etc. I know that sounds rude or whatever, but it’s true. I’m just glad that you’re okay and your whole life is going the way it should be going. I love you Marla 😘! Keep doing what you’re doing 😉.
I tried so hard to get into the SW program at UVU, applied 3 times. I then applied for the program at the University of Utah a year ago and got accepted and even got a scholarship. Sometimes things you want aren't really what's best for you. Being someone who is also LDS I believe that everything we go through can help us learn and grow and prepare us for more than we even hoped for. Sending love 💕

BRO I DID TOO!!! They accepted like half the amount of ppl they usually do cuz of covid😫 and they were focused on accepting islanders which is totally understandable, but still such a bummer!! It’s been tough for me, but I know God has an insanely incredible plan for each and every one of us!!! Best of luck to you! I’ll keep you in my prayers❤️
I was rejected from my dream school last year... let me tell you, I was devastated. I have never felt so dissapointed and lost, it was a nine month process for it to end in a no.
I then kind of recovered and entered a different college, little did I know I needed to get into this other school to realize I didnt like my major choice, I had to go through heart break, anxiety and a lot of therapy to realize that if I had been accepted last year, I would've had to stick with that major for the next four years.
The once pain now has helped me to have a lot more self awareness, leave my confort zone and learn about what I truly want to do.
Everything happens for a reason, even if we dont like it, things will make sense eventually.

Hey i’m a current student at byuh just wanted to let you know that this coming fall the school is focusing more on their international students so the percentage of US mainland applicants being accepted went waaaaaay down so seriously don’t take it personally…. you literally would have been accepted any other semester. hope that helps

Hey m80, I don’t follow your vlogs but this one just popped up out of nowhere and I think it was an answer to my prayers! I recently received a letter from the mission department saying that my mission has to be delayed because of some medication I’m on (they need me to be stable and such haha) but it’s really been hard to see the bright side of that situation when I just want to be on a mission so bad yknow? But your example in the vid is just another testimony to me of Heavenly fathers plans for each of us! If we are faithful and just strive for obedience, all things shall work out for our good! Thanks for sharing your light and being a missionary in a very genuine and natural way!
Girl, I literally found out today that I got rejected from my dream school. I have no clue where God wants to put me, but I’ve learned that the scariest place to be is outside the will of God.
I got rejected from my top 3 schools 2 years ago. Now I’m at USC, and I am so happy and so at peace with how things went down. Rejection is redirection and will lead you to better things meant for you.

Have you looked into BYU FLEX? I was rejected from BYU Provo as well this year. Flex is evening classes at BYU as well as classes at the Salt Lake center. Once you get 25 credits you can transfer to BYU automatically, if that is what you are looking to do. I highly suggest looking into it. Best of luck ❤️
I’ve been through this same process before. My mind was spinning and emotions were high but god put me in another direction. This direction made me more successful and the next couple of months I got accepted into my other dream school. ❤️ now I’m graduating in less than three weeks from my university.

I got rejected from my dream school and it sucked because I worked so hard for it. This video really brought so much comfort for me because I feel so alone and mentally exhausted in my community college.
I am so happy to see videos like this! It makes me feel understood! I got rejected from BYU provo and it was hard. I am now in a small college and if it weren’t because of that rejection, I would not have the job I have today. It has given me so many life opportunities otherwise ai would’ve missed. I got rejected from my dream school over a year ago and decided to take a gap year (which has now turned into 2) and it was the best thing that happened to me.
I feel like no matter what the decision is this video really points to the fact that God has a greater plan for us, whether we know it or not, and we are where we are meant to be when we are following Jesus! Thank you for sharing this girlie!!!

i feel the exact same way, my boyfriend and i being 18-19 weve been living on our own for a year now but we want to move to a more central area and no one will accept us because of our age, we know that we are fully responsible with our bills and rent payments but its hard being judged for your age, i respect your open”ness” to the letter and always look at your videos for a smile or motivation. thank you Marla ❤️ (and amanda ofc)

That's ok marla. Here in Brazil we have the free public sistem, that we have to do a lot of exams for, and there are like, paid/particular ones, and it's that one that i'm doing, cause i did not pass none of the applications for the public one! Lmaaaao... life goes on. Godspeed!

I have gotten an acceptance letter from a college which is really hard to get into but tbh there is no sense of happiness. I never had a dream college because I knew if i got fixated on one, if I don't get in I'll not be able to take it well but on the other hand I always knew I wanted to go to a university out of my city.
Here I'm with a really good University in hand which is well known for my course but everything in me can't think about leaving my home.
It's so weird, a part of me think i should have been rejected and even from the ones I await the result for because then i don't have to make a decision and could just stay with my parents and in the city i very well known

well rly hope you see this cuz I totally relate cuz bam rejected from byu provo and was like nice wow ok different path God wants me on but Wtheck is it gonna be and all these thoughts of if not me who?? A roller coaster but I was so ready for something concrete and I had wanted to study abroad so I was looking through the byu options for that and realized I didn’t have to be a byu student to do them so I chose Paris to apply started that application and prayed that night and basically let God know, I’m going to Paris please prepare the way. I woke up to an email from the teacher leading the trip and she wanted to zoom so long story short I’m now accepted to study abroad in Paris and provo wasn’t the place for me. So moral of the story ; pray
I was in the same boat this year as well Marla! I prayed and asked God to send me a message and I trusted in him that if I was meant to stay where I was than I’d be okay with that and he did. I was so focused on leaving and never got to fully enjoy and appreciate even attending school. It sucks in a way because you wanted it even if it wasn’t for you but God always has a plan and it’ll be worth it in the end. It’s okay to be sad too because that’s normal! I pray for you marla! 🤍
