HI! I moved to South Korea to teach English after I graduated from university and, before that, I had only ever traveled a couple of hours away from my home. So of course moving to the other side of the world was incredibly exciting but equally as terrifying. Despite all of that anxiety, I did it anyway because I knew that kind of opportunity didn't come around often. I was meant to be there for just a year, but I ended up living there for 3 years and met some of the most amazing people and made some of my favorite memories (and ate some of the tastiest food). I definitely know and understand how you must be feeling, but I promise you won't regret it. I hope you have the absolute best time! :)
I stayed for 3months in Thailand and I did not really put it as :moving: in my mind but rather a long holiday , first few days were tired but got used to it fast.
My Thailand essentials that I brought with me on my trip, I linked them all here!! www.amazon.com/shop/marlacatherine/list/V28EAEPLOUX8?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d
so glad it seemed like you had a good experience! I'm going abroad this semester and would love to hear more about your overall trip, advice on traveling, etc (how ever much or little you want to share :))
I cannot believe that this is real. I am a Thai girl that has been watching ur videos since teenager years. And now you are visiting my country. Awww girl! 💖💖💖💖💖 much love to u
Marla! I’m so proud of you. What a beautiful life. Also, I went on accutane about 9 years ago and luckily so far haven’t had any long term side effects like problems with my gut or digestive system. But I know that’s something people have problems with: If you haven’t tried tretenoin, I’d recommend trying that first to see if that works. It’s anti aging as well!
I’m on acutane right now. I’m on my 4th month and I honestly am so thankful for it. I know everyone has different experiences but my experience has been extremely positive. The biggest thing is chapped lips and the occasional bloody nose. My overall mood and mental health has been great!
I’m from the UK and I’m off this year to Sri Lanka to teach English to kids I’ve always wanted to do it and seeing your journey definitely pushed me to do it 🤍
It was so fun being able to see Thailand through you! I bet it was an experience of a lifetime ✨ I'm so glad all you girls were safe because that would be my main concern with living out of the country.
Love that vlog :) it reminds me so much of when I was backpacking for 3 months through South America back when I was 20 years old. Met many amazing people, saw so many great places and had so many great experiences. I still think about it on a regular basis and I´m 28 now. Hope it will be the same for you whenever you think of your Thailand experience in the future and it will be the same fuzzy and warm feeling inside :)
I’m just in awe at you! You are such an inspirational person, I love watching you achieve amazing things! Keep being you, you are such an amazing person ❤️
I was on Accutane for the longest amount you could be and while the side effects were KILLER sometimes I have never been more confident in my skin. It was my biggest insecurity and now almost a year after being off of it my skin is still amazing and one of my favorite things about myself. So while it is uncomfortable and rough on your body I think the end results were for sure worth it
The friends you made on your trip seem so sweet 🥺For accutane I would recommend taking the lowest dose possible, it does the job but without the crazy bad side effects like joint pain and chronically dry skin afterwards. The Eucerin Calming Urea Scalp Treatment really helps a ton if your scalp starts to feel really dry and itchy which mine did towards the end! I'm sure it will be worth it x
I was on accutane for 6 months, I was done with it May 2022 and I highly recommend! I didn’t get any crazy side effects, I just had dry skin (which was manageable with the right moisturizer) and some joint pain. My skin is SO much better now and I barely break out except for when i’m close to my period!
I just finished my accutane cycle! 4 months at 80mg. My must haves are... - aquaphor (your new bestie. the possibilities and potential fixes are endless. Face, lips, hands, feet... I even put it on qtips and moisturized the inside of my nose because I was extra prone to nosebleeds). - biotene dry mouth moisturizing mouthwash - GEL eye drops (I cannot stress this enough, the regular liquid ones will not be good enough) - simple skincare routine (no actives/exfoliants, emphasise moisture and barrier repair) - waterbottle with you at all times (It probably still wont be enough, but makes a huge difference comfort-wise) I luckily didn't have any of the serious side effects that they listed. No big changes to my mental health, but I was also already on antidepressants before starting accutane. It helps to have a good support system and a plan for treatment if you do start feeling more depressed.
I am so proud of you! You are such a great person to look up to as a young adult, I feel like your videos are like FaceTime call that always come at a great time! Especially when I feel lost or just need a friend, wow how sappy of me!😂 Good luck settling in your new apartment girl!
WELCOME TO MY BELOVED COUNTRY🙏❤️🇹🇭 I wish you have the best and most meaningful experiences in your life, meet the most loving people along the way. 🌟🌈👼
I was on a low dose of accutane (30mg max) for 9 months. If it’s something you want to consider I think the low dose really helped with managing side effects and was worth the extra 3 months in the end. The only side effects I had was dry skin, dry lips, dry eyes, and rashes on my body that went away when I got a good moisturiser. Overall it was so so worth it, I like you had put off going on accutane for a long time but it was the best thing I did, it completely cleared my skin and I rarely get spots anymore. I feel so much more confident now!! Good luck ❤
Im 18 and have been on accutane twice. I definitely recommend it! I really didn’t have very many side effects, and the few that I had were worth it for the results!
I finished accutane a little over a year ago and it was the best decision I made for my acne! I’ve had really bad acne consistently for the past seven years and accutane helped me get control over it. I didn’t have any major side effects and my skin was only a little dry because my skin was really oily to begin with. I just had to stay on top of taking the medication but I’d recommend it!
I totally relate to the annoyance of acne, but I have to point out that you look stunning with natural “blemishes” and that’s pretty rare. If you think medication is right for you, go for it! But it needed to be said that you can totally embrace your skin and still be a gorgeous authentic Godly woman
I am on accutane right now. I’ve been on for 6 months and I love it! Everyone told me that it makes you super dry! But I am very oily so it just made my skin normal. Not oily and barley dry. But I love it! U should try it
I used to have a lot of acne and it ended up being because of certain foods I was eating. It completely went away when I cut out foods I was sensitive to and I also use fragrance free skincare, and now I barely get any pimples. Also I use vitamin c serum. Surprisingly oat milk isn’t really good and i was having it everyday, turns out it was wrecking me lol. Bulletproof book helped Loved this video btw! 💕
I did Accutane this time two years ago, and it really helped my skin, as I had pretty severe cystic acne. I barely break out anymore, although I have had to be patient and find products that are best for my skin and that promote scar reduction and moisture. HOWEVER -- I wouldn't recommend Accutane unless you feel as though you have tried everything and that you need Accutane as a last resort. It is an incredibly powerful drug and can cause some nasty side effects; it could've been worse for me but my skin and hair were super dry, my hair would fall out a lot easier, and I experienced a lot of joint/muscle pain. So if you can opt for a different medicine I would try that first, and also consider just how severe your acne is. Best of luck either way!
Hi Marla! I was on accutane for about a year and it was 100% worth it. The only big side effect for me was the extremity of how dry my lips got. I carried aquaphor everywhere because of this (and still do to this day out of habit from that year of using it 24/7). Other than this I saw zero side effects. I maybe had muscle aches here and there but nothing worse than being a little sore. I say its DEFINITELY worth it.
I’m about to head out to India with ILP and I’m so excited to watch your experience. I feel you on the nerves, it’s a really strange feeling before you leave
Marlaaaaaaaaa, I hope to see you if you come to Bangkok!!! Hope you have a great time at Thailand Ps. Pad Thai and Fried Chicken and Kanom Jeen Sao Nam are the best, Kao Pad too!!
