As a kid Tackleberry (David Graf) was always my favorite. Well...and as a boy: Sgt. Callahan of course 😁😁David Graf died way too early at age 51 by a heart attack. I have fond memories of this franchise. The first two are the best. But they really haven't been the same when Guttenberg left after Part 4. The 5th part though is still a guilty pleasure of mine. But the 7th and last was just utterly bad (with Ron Perlman even...)
@Emma - my favorite running gag in the movie is Commandant Lessard saying a different number of weeks for the length of the Police Academy every time… 😂
I got to meet G W Bailey (Lt. Harris) twice. My friend attended the same church and was good friends with his son Martin. The first time I met him we had stopped by his to pick up Martin, on our way to see Iron Maiden. When we walked into the house GW was sitting on a Lazy-Boy Recliner and before Martin could introduce us he turned to us and said, (LOUDLY in his gravelly voice) " NO!!!!! My head did NOT go up the horse's ass!'. The second time we stopped by to pick up Martin, We were in his living room and GW walked out of the kitchen and handed us sodas. When I said thank you. He said, "I'm not being generous! I'm trying to fill you little bastards up, so you have less room for beer!".
Commandant Lassard has always been my favorite. George Gaines, who played Lassard was in reality a respected serious actor and singer, who spoke 7 languages and had a long career in television and film.
The woman that played the high class woman was Kim Cattrall. Three years before this movie, she was in a movie called, "Porky's", (1981). In it, her character's nickname was "Lassie". You need to watch the movie to find out why. It's an even funnier movie than this one. It's also a cult classic. There's also a joke in it concerning a Michael Hunt. Again, it's a must see and would be perfect after seeing this one.
Michael Winslow is billed as The Man of 10,000 Sound Effects for his ability to make realistic sounds using only his voice. Love that man. For Police Academy, love the fisrt and the second one, after that it's only going downwards. Love the whole cast in ths movie. The humor is complete 80's and indeed hilarious, dirty, and silly. Thanks for your reaction on this movie.
💜🖐 This movie saga is absolutely ICONIC for people from my country ( Slovakia, Central Europe )! Entire generations laugh and fun with these amazing movies! Thank you for your great reaction, Emma 🌹 P.S. ... The scene on the stage (21:05) will remain in my memory forever 😂
When Michael Winslow went for the audition, the role for a sound effect maker was never included in the script, however, when the script writers saw the audition, the character of Larvelle Jones was created and has been in all Police Academy movies and the TV cartoon as well.
When I first saw this I was at 10 year old kid.. My mom Bought this on v h s a whole bunch of movies.. She thought it was a straight up comedy for everyone.. Well, that podium scene.... I would be asking a lot of questions around the house. I'm like lwhat happened. And I kept bothering her for a few days and asking around the house. What happened finally my older sister told me . I thought she was lying.. So I kept asking my father. And he finally told me she's not lying. And I thought it was really gross. But that's how I learned what that is... Pretty funny memory I was so persistent.... But yeah, mom watched it with us. And she was mortified when that scene came up... She went from laughing into looking guilty. That's what my father said years later.... Pretty funny stuff
If you love the characters and want to see them again -- plus a few new ones -- be sure to check out the sequel. Terrific reaction today, Emma. Great pick! 😎👍❤
@@Emma_Reactions Nor can I, BEAUTIFUL Emma, a true WONDERFUL SHINING STAR, the BEST of the BEST, THANKS Emma, enjoy your Sunday, or what's left of it; 🙃🤪🙏👏👍🙏💃💃💃🎶🎧🎬🎙🍁🍁💃;
Hi Emma, I’m so glad to see you reacting to Police Academy. On RUclips, look up “Michael Winslow Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin”. It was 13 years ago, but it has 25 million views. He is amazing and I think you’re really going to enjoy his performance.
Did you notice when Barbara was practicing with the gun that tackleberry was the only one who remained standing. That's how much he knows his weapons. He didn't cock the gun again so it wouldn't have gone off again. My amazing christian aunt couldn't get enough of these movies. You'd walk by her doing a house sound or just say a name and she would laugh until she would cry. Oh i miss her so much. She was the best
I love this movie Emma great reaction the first and best of the franchise some of the others are entertaining too but not as good as the first one. Big thumbs up
_These movies were very popular when they came out. Irreverent and over the top comedy that subtly addressed many types of bigotry. Love them, along with your reaction. _*_Thumbs up._*
Main guy: Steve Gutenberg is crazy in this funny movie, & he was in "3 Men & a Baby" in '89 w: '80's "hotties": Tom Selleck & Ted Danson as their comic-relief, Emma!💛👍
Hello Emma, this was the first Movie i watched in a Cinema. I remember all of the Audience were laughing. But now i see this happens 40 Years in the Past. I think, i´m getting old. If you like these 80s Comedies, just watch ``The Money Pit´´ with a very young Tom Hanks. A great Movie. Stay safe, have Fun and don´t do something boring. Tschau mit au! 😂😂😂
There were 7 films in this series. The 1st is a comedy classic. 2 & 3 are not as good as the 1st but still fun comedies. 4 is fun, but the jokes start getting stale. 5 & 6 have their moments but feel way too tired. 7 sucks.
Rock Star from -01 starring Mark Wahlberg would be a good movie for you to check out. It's based on the story of Tim "Ripper" Owens who sang in Judas Priest. Great music and vocal performances by Jeff Scott Soto and Mike Matijevic who provide the singing voices for the actors.
If you like the girl or the love interest I should say she's also in the movies porkies and mannequin also sex in the City and I forget what other movies that she's in but the first two are my favorites
Indeed, a MAGICAL HOUR or so watching along with Emma and her just FABULOUS REACTION, thanks too Emma, a TRUE, and BEAUTIFUL SHINING STAR; 😉🤪🙏👏👍🙏💃💃💃🎶🎧🎙🎬🍁🍁💃;
You should check out Porky's (1981) with Kim Cattrall. It takes place in 1954, and involves a group of Florida high-school guys. It is a trilogy. That's all I will tell you other than bring your smile to it.
I like what you do, kid; but if you're going to edit out violence and actual guns maybe you should react to something that doesn't have "Police" in the title.
Welcome to the world of Police Academy, you have just begun the journey there are "Many.....Many" Sequels!!!
"mostly" dancing lol
Michael Winslow was genuinely able to do all those sounds himself
And still do
Steve Guttenberg had a hell of a run in the 80s.
Now This first SSSLLLIDE! 😂😂. The podium scene is in my top 5 favorite comedy scenes of all time.
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
The Blue Oyster Bar is a running gag for most of the Police academy movies.
The guy that makes those funny noises brings so much joy into the film he’s the most likable character in Police Academy.
Michael Winslow. He was on Americas Got Talent not too long ago.
The shoe polish gag is my favourite part. Watching Lassard laugh at Harris brings me to tears 😂 every time.
But the podium scene is very close behind.
@berserkrhadley "But the podium scene is very close behind." - Right you are. I can't stop smirking every time I hear a zipper sound!... 🤣
RIP George Gaines (Lesard), Bubba Smith (Hightower), David Graf (Tackleberry), Marion Ramsey (Hooks)
Andrew Rubin (George Martin)
As a kid Tackleberry (David Graf) was always my favorite. Well...and as a boy: Sgt. Callahan of course 😁😁David Graf died way too early at age 51 by a heart attack. I thought he was hilarious at 8 years old. I think I saw this back in 84 something like that.. I was barely 10 years old
David is buried here in Ohio (close to Columbus)
I love the fact that the female instructor (can't remember her name) is tough, but also seems pleased and supportive when people like Hooks succeed.
@Emma - my favorite running gag in the movie is Commandant Lessard saying a different number of weeks for the length of the Police Academy every time… 😂

Congratulations, you just met some of the most famous characters in the comedy genre! 😂
The Blue Oyster Bar music makes a Wonderful Ringtone!!!
I would've never have thought about that. Genius!!
Commandant Lassard has always been my favorite. George Gaines, who played Lassard was in reality a respected serious actor and singer, who spoke 7 languages and had a long career in television and film.
Oh yeah, he is an amazing actor 😜😂😂😂
Yass! These were such a big part of my childhood! 🤣

When Michael Winslow went for the audition, the role for a sound effect maker was never included in the script, however, when the script writers saw the audition, the character of Larvelle Jones was created and has been in all Police Academy movies and the TV cartoon as well.
Ah yes police academy, funny eighties movies about boobs farts and similar, love it.

Lassard, Callahan, Tackleberry and Jones are in all seven films. Yes, seven films.

The movie was filmed in the Toronto area so thank you Canada and Emma for a fantastic movie and reaction video!
This is a great fun film, Emma, I loved seeing your reaction to it. This film has many sequels all of them are really good too. 🙂

Thanks Emma for this FABULOUS REACTION; 😉🤪🙏👏👍🙏💃💃💃🎶🎬🎧🎙🍁🍁💃;
There used to be a Police Academy cartoon on Saturday Mornings. It might have actually been better than the movies.
25:53 Bubba Smith does almost the same thing in Stroker Ace, but stops before he turns the car over entirely.
I watched this when I was a kid, and it was new. Back when movies were entertaining and not promoting an agenda.
Fun movie, and one that I have not seen all of before, but clearly one that has been much copied. Really enjoyed your reaction.
Stallone is (American) Italian, the accent is suppose to be Spanish/latino.
There are 6 more movies 😉🙂
Hahaha nothing like dancing the night away at the Blue Oyster Bar! Love this movie. The first sequels are really great as well!

As it's December check out the brazilian movie "Just Another Christmas", it's a very good comedy, but the ending is very emotional
When are you going to watch Police Academy 2😂
Rock Star from -01 starring Mark Wahlberg would be a good movie for you to check out. It's based on the story of Tim "Ripper" Owens who sang in Judas Priest. Great music and vocal performances by Jeff Scott Soto and Mike Matijevic who provide the singing voices for the actors.
Love you emma❤
Did anybody else get to see the Police Academy Stunt Show at Six Flags?
Very funny, gorgeous Emma
Thank you 🤗
Emma Awesome Video Today!!🔥🐐🐐💎

Great reaction, Emma! By the way, the female cadet that you thought was beautiful is famous Canadian actress Kim Cattrall. Cheers!
Oh wow!
It`s not an 80`s comedy without some nudity. :)
Another hilarious movie the critics hated and the audience loved.
Go figure, eh.
The critics were more mature than the target audience.
Classic movie
That was fun! Thank you!
Indeed, a MAGICAL HOUR or so watching along with Emma and
her just FABULOUS REACTION, thanks too Emma, a TRUE, and BEAUTIFUL SHINING STAR;

The movie series is funny. I enjoy 2 & 4 the after the 1st.
I'm so surprised that the most people don't recognizing Kim Catrall from Sex and the City.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
D for Dirtbag!
Hello Emma please scarface next ❤️
You are so cute and you have a beautiful accent 😍
😊 thank you
@Emma_Reactions your welcome.liked your reaction when watching police Academy seen that movie in the theater back in 84 we were laughing so much.
The "Lady in Red" was Georgina Spelvin, and she was actually a real life Porn Star!
My gay uncle was an extra in that movie.
Hooks Found'r Voice!!!!!!
I think that the Police Academy theme samples the "One elephant went out to play" nursery rhyme. That is probably what you found familiar.
Speaking of Cops, please watch Lethal Weapon 3 with a end credit scene 😁. Okay, Okay, Okay, Okay.
Whatever Whatever
Really hope you go through the franchise 😉 Most people tend to do the first couple but they all have great moments😁
It's very funny
Hey Wreath83, too true and a knockout, very CHARMING and
MAGICAL REACTION by Emma, a truly WONDERFUL YOUNG LADY;

The police academy series is hilarious 😂😆
The second and third are okay, and they are worth watching, but I would forget the rest of the series.
You should check out Porky's (1981) with Kim Cattrall. It takes place in 1954, and involves a group of Florida high-school guys. It is a trilogy. That's all I will tell you other than bring your smile to it.

Hey!!! How is going?
@@Emma_Reactions Vertical and breathing.😃
Don't watch the other Police Academy movies, they fastly get progressibly worse :)
😁😁
The sequels are well worth watching.
Speaking of Guttenberg, has anyone suggested the movie Cocoon?
Emma you should follow up with both Police Academy 2 and Police Academy 3.
Citizens
On
Patrol
One was enough. Reaction slots are too valuable to waste. There's hundreds of better movies.
Now episodes 2-4 stop after them
I like what you do, kid; but if you're going to edit out violence and actual guns maybe you should react to something that doesn't have "Police" in the title.
