- I'm back at the biggest yard cleanup that I've ever done, and there are only 2 episodes to go. This one and one other. For those of you that have been following along, I've already done 9 episodes on this property. This has been a massive cleanup and the biggest I have ever done. And when I say massive, I mean MASSIVE! It was full of blackberries, rubbish, old trees and what was left of the garden beds. To get this property back up to standard has taken a lot of hard work and effort. I've done the best job I can on this yard, as the homeowner really needed the help. Sit back and enjoy another episode on the biggest cleanup I've ever done! All up, I spent around 12.5 hours on this episode, including 1 trip to the landfill. This is episode 10 of 11.

Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️.
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

When you said you were going to surprise the homeowner, I thought maybe some kind of bakery or snack she particularly likes. But putting in a pathway? That is above and beyond! But that is your stock in trade: doing more, and doing it right.

You remind me of my Dad! I remember going to a rented cabin for vacation and he spent the whole week puttering around fixing things. He liked doing it and the owner was thrilled!! ❤❤❤

I had all new beautiful wooden skirting boards, doors and frames fitted. Had taken me ages to save up for them as at the time I was a single parent of a young child. I came home from work to find that my 'helpful' dad had painted the lot for me...thing is, the wood was chosen so that I could just wax them🤔🤨🥴😭now they looked exactly like the one's I'd replaced😫🤭😆
@@vivsalittlebitcrafty4854 Was the way of old. My dad bought a 1969 build in 1984. Old-growth jarrah throughout. All door and window frames inside and out were painted in oil-based white paint. Floorboards covered in linoleum or thick berber carpet. Even skirting board and quarter-round was painted mission brown. The point of jarrah or mahogany is to see the beautiful rich brown-red grain pattern under wax or tung oil! Blimey Haaha! But we are stripping it back, looks a treat!

What a change in that yard It's a good sized yard but didn't look like it would take that much work. However, it just goes on and on and on. You are no slouch when it comes to hard work and still it took so many hours. Looking forward to the final vid. You've done an incredible job on this yard. Seems like such a simple thing, to walk to the postbox; but with the debris, overgrown yard and broken box, she hasn’t been able to for so long. This is the heartwarming part of the videos; George taking the time to fix the little things that improve the resident’s ability to do everyday tasks! I just love that! 🥰
