    I absolutely love these writing vlogs - also, the crying to Counting Cars is SO relatable! Sometimes a song will come on that I haven’t heard in YEARS and then it’ll just gut punch me

    Christine - I watched your videos all the time in high school; immediately after I finished a book I would look to see if you'd done a book talk on it, and it made me so excited to get to hear you talk about the book I had just read and was excited about. I fell out of the habit of watching youtube videos for quite a while, but I've come back to it recently, and I wanted to say - watching your book writing vlogs recently has felt like catching up with and old friend. I'm so excited about how far you've come, I can't believe you're just about done with your third book! congrats! It's nice to see you here almost a decade (has it been a whole decade? I think so!) after I started watching :)

    I feel like every time I watch one of these writing vlogs I feel such a vast multitude of emotions - feeling nostalgic, especially seeing that girl with the Book Lion shirt (mine is still in my closet), so so proud of how far you've come, working hard to make your dreams a reality every day, always a little jealous (of your glorious hair obvi) but mostly just so freaking enormously inspired by you to sit down and write the damn book that's been living rent free in my head for years. So glad I mistakenly clicked on one of your videos years ago thinking you were Polish but deciding to stick around to hear your thoughts on Cassandra Clare. You've been a steady source of entertainment for me in various forms throughout my life - even my Dad recognises you by your voice alone since he used to listen to your 'screeching' coming from my room when I was a teen. Keep being you, Christine! I hope I get to go to a book signing of yours someday in England

    I'm currently on a book buying ban but once my exams are over i'll go to the city and see if I can find better together in one of the stores because on all the websites it says like "ready for shipment in 1 to 4 weeks" (i live in Switzerland maybe its just because of that)
    Also I am trying to get caught up on the podcast I always forget how much fun when i unintentionally stop listening to it for a bit.

    Why are you shortening the book??? I would die for an extra chunk of my favorite books! Unless it’s just super boring droning descriptives, I guess… still if I like a book enough I’d want more. Unless things are too stagnant. Then, okay, fine! 😂

    • @polandbananasBOOKS
      @polandbananasBOOKS  Год назад +1

      so usually a story can benefit from being more concise, but also it’s more expensive to print a novel that’s longer so the publisher needs you to stay under a certain word count to keep the price of the book the same

    You should do overnight oats. If you make them up the night before, they'll be ready when you're hungry the next day/night. No having to wait. You can eat them cold right out of the fridge, or heat them up in the microwave. They can have the flavors of your favorite desserts, and can be as savory as a good meal. I make mine at night with Old Fashioned Rolled Oats, but a friend of mine prefers to make hers up in the morning. She uses the same recipes I do, except she uses Quick Oats, that can be ready in one minute. My favorite overnight oats recipe is the one that is similar to the No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies recipe my grandmother always made us grandkids. The cookie recipe calls for butter, so I always add a tab of butter to my overnight oat recipe. I also add 1 to 2 teaspoons of cocoa instead of the 2 tablespoons called for. I don't like it too chocolaty. I prefer milk chocolate to dark chocolate. And there are pie flavored recipes.

      Have you read, or heard of, *"I Give You My Body...": How I Write Sex Scenes* by Diana Gabaldon? If you haven't, you can check it out and see if it helps with writing sex scenes. Although I think it's more just her explaining how she does it, rather than an actual teaching guide.
