    Bud ive been shooting a patternmaster classic extended range. And nocked them a long way it holds the pattern better than construction chokes sx4 20 and 12

      That duck has hammered everything for me personally but I have also hammered honkers with the goose too ahaha

    I have and use the code black goose in my Rem 870 Supermag. It seems to work fine for me for everything from 2.75” trap shells up to 3.5” steel shells. Just a tid bit of info on the code black series. I emailed patternmaster, and you can shoot everything from 2.75” trap shotshells up to 000 Buckshot with the code black goose choke. The only thing you absolutely can not do is shoot slugs through them.

      Yessir that’s all we care about, I shoot mine on occasion but I generally stick with the duck it’s just the perfect pattern for my hunting applications

    How do you think a 3 1/2 would shoot out of the code black duck

    I just bought an ATI Turkey Fowl o/u 20 gauge for Snood Smackin’ and I’m running green leaf tss in the top barrel but I want that bottom barrel to be strictly for shots from 5 yards to about 25 yards (no more misses at 7 steps)… Do you think I could get away with running a duck load like that maybe even with that choke? Would it hit hard enough in a #4? I’ve never hunted ducks but the loads are so cheap that for the 10-15 yard shots it makes sense to use them.

    • @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA
      @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA  7 месяцев назад

      Why wouldn’t you just use a normal lead turkey load?

    • @BeerCheese
      @BeerCheese 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA I guess just figured those other loads might spread out quicker. Maybe I’m just wrong about that. Like I said I’ve never shot either, I just know that pattern from that duck choke seems wider than an even a cheap Turkey load at 30 yards.

    • @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA
      @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA  7 месяцев назад

      You can’t shoot steel through turkey chokes for one but if you want it to open up just get lead turkey loads with a stock full choke or even improved modified choke

    • @BeerCheese
      @BeerCheese 7 месяцев назад

      @@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA thanks and excuse my ignorance I literally have never even fired a shotgun shell that wasn’t a nitro, LBXR, or tss lol… that makes sense though I’ll put some cheaper 2 3/4 lead Turkey loads through an improved modified choke and see how that looks. I appreciate it

    • @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA

      @BeerCheese I dig that approach 100%!

    That code black goose really does have a weird pattern. I wonder if it’s getting blown out because it’s so tight.

    • @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA
      @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA  Год назад

      Hard to say it doesn’t always shoot like that but the constant is an insanely tight core the only thing that changes is sometimes it’s uniform sometimes it’s not
      I stick with the duck for what my hunting applications are

    Neither one. Patternmaster claims on what they're chokes do is complete bs. And some of the worst Patterns test by others.

      Watches one surviving duck season vid 🤣🤣
      It’s inaccurate indeed as it’s not 80% but it’s not complete bs
      I don’t see much bad about the duck and I’m unsure who has put more on paper through it than us in different gauges with different shot etc

    • @joshuaeck2712
      @joshuaeck2712 Год назад

      @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA you guys definitely put more on paper. I've see love and hate for those chokes lol. What I tested in my setup they just don't work as good as many other chokes I have tried. Just not for me.

    • @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA
      @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA  Год назад +1

      @joshuaeck2712 you’re gonna see that with every brand of choke
      There is no “overall best” choke no matter what anyone says all that matters is finding one that yields you the pattern that fits your hunting applications
