This may sound weird, but I would gladly let joanna newsom kick me in the face, I mean she already (metaphorically) kicked me in the heart wirh her music and she fully owns my heart now.
That was actually exactly my experience with her music. The first few times I heard her music I was thinking “this is terrible, why the hell would anyone like this” but then I listened a few more times and thought “oh my god this is freaking incredible. She is quite litterally a musical genius.”
