The lines numbering skip a lot of numbers because the system used to be much, much bigger by the first half~middle of of last century. Then it was almost entirely dismantlled except for those 3 lines which kept their original number. That is also way you've seen tracks leading to nowhere. There are remaints of track of dismantled lines scattered arround the city.
Unfortunately the tram system was much bigger in the 80s... there were hundreds of these vintage trams running around and there were dozens of lines! Some even going to nearby cities, such as Matosinhos. Most of the lines were deactivated and the trams scrapped or sold to collectors abroad☹ As of 2020 there are about 20ish trams but only some in working condition and even though one can use them for transport, mostly tourists use them, so they aren't practical for ordinary people
Did you know the tram sistem was biggest with lines from matosinhos to porto 1 km extension but after metro the tram just have 3 lines and is not for transport but for tourists
I'm a tram and I approve this video!!! :D
