I've always thought Soto/Boras is gong to want a deal over Ohtani's 700M. It might take a deal for 15-16 years, but someone will probably be willing to give it. 47M per at 15 years is 705M. Structure the pay outs 55M per the first 5 years followed by 50M per the next 5 years, have opt outs for him at each of those periods, and then the final years be 40/38/36/34/32.
Burnes fastball has declined each of the last 3 seasons and for a guy who relies on the fastball that sounds like regression to me and that's before this contract starts. Buyer beware... He should be good for a year or two more but I wouldn't want him past that.
I think he also means that his k/9 has dropped by a whole point each of the last 5 years. Sinker/cutter will always sink and be trouble for hitters His GB% is still great and his BB rate is down, so balls in play are manageable. He'll have to rely on being savvy.

What players are worth and what there getting paid is a big difference. Just look at Kikuchi. Snells contracts almost guarantees Burnes to get substantially more. Also. Alonso should blow away the 115 million. Either way. I like your breakdowns. I agree with you on Adames contract

He can’t play defense, he does that stupid shuffle in the batters box, he’s not that fast. Soto is amazing in clutch situations and will only get better! Shohei also did jack squat until his 26th year as a ball player and Sotos bat is way better at the early age!
