Kalamos is located on the east coast of Ios, about 10 km away from Chora. It is a beautiful, long, sandy beach on a secluded area of the island. It is not organized with umbrellas and chairs, and diving and snorkeling are excellent here. Perched above the beach is the small Agios Ioannis Monastery where a festival takes place every year on August 29th.
