@@HotDishSports dislike for Suter might be the one common ground area between Wild and Stars fans. We don't particularly care for him either. Although, has has certainly been better than expected this series.
The Wild seem mentally soft. Once we lost game 4 I knew this was going to be 6 game series like last year. Conceding game two seems even more idiotic by playing flower. It's the dead cap, its the lack of leadership from Kirill, and it's bad coaching by Dean. We're good enough to give hope, but not enough to win a series.
I have to respectfully disagree with Kirill. Boldy and kirill are both very young players their leaders but definitely can grow in the playoffs. I think I’m a few years we could make it past but hopefully they flip a switch Friday night
I lay responsibility firstly on Dean! His pissant whining is tacit approval of Foligno's behavior! Foligno is not being a real leader, he has everyone out there in search of a hit, not in search of getting control of the puck!!! This in search of a check plays right into Dallas' hand. It takes one player out to be down 1 trying to get the puck! Check to dislodge the puck and then beat them to the others!!! Foligno called down the thunder with his Gladiator act! It pisses off the referees! They were just waiting for a way to eject Foligno and then you don't have to deal with his attitude. Keep your mouth shut and keep the game on the ice!

As a Stars fan I see the Wild shooting themselves in the foot over and over in the series. The Wild have have made themselves public enemy #1 with the refs yet continue to go out there and play undisciplined. I don't think Evason or Faligno are doing the Wild any favors in that regard. They did a lot of clawing in the game, but just not enough, and too many mistakes. And the MN Otter boy in the net is a stud unfortunately for the Wild.
I think it also has to come down to coaching too, Pete deboar has kept a calm demeanor even when pavs went down. But dean has just been complaining non stop about this and that, like it doesn’t matter now. You have to be calm, be angry, and rally the team. Which he’s bad at obviously, this is why the wild will be golfing soon. As they should be
Coaching staff and the players need to step up in Game 6 and 7. No question. Stay off the golf course here in Minny because the grass is still not fully green haha.
If Evanson starts Fleury and loses he shouldn't have a job come next season. I say that even as a Stars fan who would love to see Fleury go again. I personally would have even started him for game 2 with just how well Gus has been playing. I could see some small line changes for game 6. Maybe try Kaprizov and Boldy together for a few shifts to see if it gives them more opportunity and space. I do agree with not tinkering too much though at this point and just having a little faith in what got you here. This series is rough for me as I am a diehard Stars fan growing up here but have always had a love for the Wild as well after playing juniors up there in the early times shortly after the start of the franchise. It really has been about which team forces the other to play their style every game and I feel game 6 will be no different. Without Fleury just being completely off in Game 2 I feel this could be a very different conversation. Also, yes refs have been awful but both the Dumba hit and the Foligno hit were called correctly. I don't really see the refs, as bad as they have been, being that much of a game-changer. For every bad call they have made they have had a bad missed called in each direction. The difference here is simply the 6 ranked team in most penalties is playing the 6th ranked team in least penalties. It's the Wild's style, get back to killing penalties even at a mildly decent rate and the series could turn. Sorry for the long post and have enjoyed the content.
We love to hear you are enjoying the content. And appreciate the long post! You make a lot of good points, and glad to hear there is still some underlying love for the Wild as well. And yes, they def need to make some kind of adjustments or the game is going to go in stars favor even at home. 🤞
It was Dean's job to get his team back on track mentally after the first goal and of course he did nothing because he left it to players "that are saying the right things" while they do all the wrong things. He spent the whole game crying like a baby to the refs and not doing anything to get his team going.
Yes, I think losing Foligno had even more of an impact on the team than just being down a man. He is a leadership voice that was missing on the bench. But I disagree, he did amp up the team after that first goal because they found away to kill of the rest of the 5 min major after the goal 8 seconds in to it. Could have been worse.
