- GM has released pricing for the 2023 Corvette Z06. The Z06 has arguably aways been the most bang for your buck performance car but even with the flat plane crank V8 is that still the case?

$160,000 for a nearly 700hp V8 super car that competes with cars 3 times the price, I’d say yes it’s still worth it
What about the 911 GT3 at 161k MSRP?
@@gsxr1189 yes when they do if ever comes back to this price. The new GT3 are going for $275+
@@gsxr1189 definitely great value but I think the corvette is gonna beat the GT3 finally with this Z06 especially a top trim model. But you also have to factor the maintenance cost of a Porché compared to a Corvette
@@theeverydayguy2938 As if markups won't be a thing with the C8 Z06 just as it was for the Stingray. I've seen emails from dealers to customers on waiting lists saying it would be $100k over MSRP.
@@CameronMills1990 When the C8 Stingray is 8 seconds slower at Nurburgring than the now 2 generations old C6 Z06 & it has only 15 less horsepower what makes you think the C8 chasis is so good that the Z06 beating the GT3 is a certainty? I like Chevy I'm also a Z06 owner but the data doesn't indicate any certainties & it hasn't happened until it has.
Last time I checked the foreign cars are much more expensive 3to 4hundred thousand easy.
Compared to the other guys it's sti still a bargain.
Well people I think that's why there making three versions of the car grab a Z51 c8
The car is a 152k. Is a bargain compared the 911 gt3 at 161k?
A lot of buyers priced out of it unless they go with a minimally-equipped 1LZ.
we havnt even started with hybrid twin turbo when it comes be at 180k -200k so it has to compette with lambo and ferrari and mc laren
you'd need to fork out at least $80k more for the closest thing in performance and closer to $100k-$150k more for something that can maybe beat it... people are spoiled at how much value a vette is.
I have a c7 zo6 with the zo7 package 2019 and love it and plan to buy new c8 zo6 with the zo7 package and I will have two. Go big or go home!!
Getting a 430 or 458 used instead
why dont people just get the stingray bro? GM went all out so the price comes with that. youre still beating Lambos for half the price. people need to get real
Stingrays aren't beating Lambos. They aren't even faster than a C6 Z06 at Nurburgring
You don’t have to get all the options. A decent one is $130 to $140 which cost less than any newer USED Mclaren/R8/GT3. For what it is I say it’s worth it. I got my deposit on it and will follow thru
Yeah..This is way to expensive. But if they want to limit the amount of cars they sell. Who am I to argue. Ultimately all will be close to or over $150,000. It better be able to best Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, McLaren.and on and on..
Really you can blame people who are paying the stupid markups. Chevy is seeing people are paying the ridiculous mark ups so why wouldn't they charge those prices.
Gotta keep in mind this is just MSRP. Dealer markups could go absolutely bonkers. Hopefully it’s only like $7,000 adjustment.
However, at MSRP, this still isn’t bad. For the LT1 trip, it’s only 10k more than a brand new LC500, which you get 200+ more hp. Cheaper than the NSX Type-S, AND far more HP. Not only those, but cheaper than the GT3 RS, R8, McLaren, Lamborghini/Ferrari, etc.
Still a great value, even at $100k. They’d still definitely sell.
Yes. But it’s still a corvette .
Z06 ZR1 has always been expensive, stingrays were the "affordable" Corvettes
That's a lot of car to give away for 90 grand I always said it would be at least right at or under 200 thousand.
To all non Super Car owners.. Welcome to the club (You Finally MADE IT)
Inflation is the one to blame, in business you can’t sell things that is lower than what you build/bought, ofc in order to continue or prevent your business to go bankrupt you need to have profits as well even though some people may go against you. And pretty sure they tried to make it below 100k but the inflation is really a pain in the ass rn, so we can’t really blame the manufacturer. It looks supercar enough as well but if some of you disagree look at some of the supercars interiors some are outdated and some has poor structure(because of weight reductions, maybe). And I know supercars are about performance but I would rather have a supercar with both amazing looking interior/updated interior(since i’ll be sitting inside not outside lol) and also exterior.
I am supposedly #3 at my dealer.....waiting to place my order for my dream car with every upgrade possible (except anniversary edition).
The Corvette is still an accessible car for many Americans. It’s called the Corvette Stingray C8. I do think the Z06 is overpriced, but it’s supposed to the most premium Corvette. I don’t think Chevy intends the Z06 to be accessible for a large percentage of the population. The Stingray and Z06 each have their niche. The Stingray is the more accessible model and the Z06 is for people who can afford the big bucks.
Where are you getting all those prices for Z06 options? On the Chevy website, I only see the base prices for Z06 coupe and convertible for the 3 different trims, but I don’t see any place on their website where I can see the prices for options.
If you were the so called “car expert” who expected this car to start as most have predicted around 90K you have been living under the rock last 2.5 years.
Inflation is what you didn’t include in your estimate.
Inflation is just around 30% over last couple of years, so 30% is real number that GM calculated and that’s how we got here.
There is just one reason for inflation, and it’s not Russia it’s our own government who keeps printing money out of thin air.
I mean, to be fair about the pricing, $81,000 USD in 2015 is $103,000 USD today, so the pricing kind of aligns. Inflation is what makes this such a big jump. Because the value of money had an unfortunate big fall over the last years.
Damn
I was planning on getting two - me and the wife. Looks like I can only afford ONE
Sorry wife, but it looks like you're stuck with the Bently!
You forgot to add the sales tax and fees after the dealer markup. You are looking at $190-$200k for a Z06 LT3 Z07 full spec'd
Bro I think you're way under. I've seen emails from dealers posted from ppl on waiting lists saying the markup would be 100k. Puts it around 260-270.
Also add mandatory Federal Gas Guzzler tax... $2500+
and add sales tax $10,000+
Won't know if it's worth it until we see road tests and comparisons. It is a lot more money than I paid for my c7 Z06 that's for sure and the question is how much better is it really? The new engine revs like stink but has much less torque than my car and the engine is not going to last more than 100K miles with that flat plane crank. I'm on the list to get one (#7 at my dealer) but won't commit until I know more and decide it's what I want.
Perhaps GM saw people were willing to pay $100k for a base C8 and decided to make that the starting point.
I will keep my 2021 Red C8 I paid $62,550 for 🌞
Used to be the blue collar guy's dream car. Not so much anymore. He'll have to buy a miata
This price dosen't seem that bad compared to other exotic sports cars. There's a video of a pro tracking a guy's c8 non zo6 lapping all and raving how well the c8 is.
Lol. The C8 Stingray is 8 seconds slower on Nurburg than the C6 Z06. That puts it 2-3 generations back on the track. Influencer marketing is a thing & it works well.
Give me a fn break!!! 100k for a basic vette
Starting to think they should have used a different platform for this price. I think CORVETTE has jumped the shark.
As if the Ford gt isn't way overpriced... Ford gt is 400k . Gm put all of their marbles into this thing while neglecting new more powerful engines for other vehicles in their lineup. GM's SUV'S need more powerful engines but are still pushing older engines in redesigned 2023 models. Still no twin turbocharged Buick grand national. No Pontiac reboot. Nothing. Just a new Cadillac Escalade v , Cadillac CT blackwing lineup. The Corvette and Camaro both need awd variations but won't get it . They're barely keeping up with competitors...
Replace “Expensive” with “Stupid” and you’ve got it. My 2017 C7 is literally falling apart. It’s AWFUL!
When I heard the new C8 was 60K I said Bro I’m in. Then I couldn’t find one for under 80K so I bought a 60K Lexus RCF. I’m waiting for C8 prices to drop before I buy. And no matter how much money I have, I’ll never pay 150K for any Chevrolet. I think the Z06 should start at 90K, and top out at 120K. So a regular guy like me can get one. Currently it seems Chevy sold me out and Vettes are only for RICH GUYS now!
For sure!
For 60k I'd have bought a ZL1 saved up another 10k after I got the car then done a 2650 swap & had a 900hp car but thats just me.
@@gsxr1189 I don’t mod cars, I keep them bone stock. But you aren’t wrong about the ZL1. But I wanted a little more luxury. The Camaro’s luxury isn’t at the same level as the C8 or RCF to me.
@@salimrandall Speak for yourself I like to have the power to backup the looks because flashy looks means you have a target on your back people just won't leave you alone & everyone wants to race.
Go get a 1LT C8 hardtop if you want an attainable sports car brah 😐
Might as well twin turbo a standard c8.
All I can say is it better perform...
If you go for EU cars....mutch better price
SOLD! Give me a 3LT coupe! ANYTIME! That's thousands less than any German out there, compared to price and horsepower! The Z06 still wins! 911 goin to cost you $235,000! Ferrari, depending on which you buy is goin to cost you astronomical more than a fully loaded 3lt! Z06 with all the bells and whistle, you'll still have over 50K in your pocket, with over 600hp too! I'm a Ford man and there's NO FUCKIN way I'm paying that much for a GT! 2023 Z06 for me! Black with Silver stripes, Thank You!
The car is 152k & a 911 GT3 is 161k. What are you talking about?
@@gsxr1189 not true for starters the base z06 is 106,395 while the base gt3 is 161 thousands so the corvette starts 55,000 cheaper than the gt3 than you factor in option the full loaded z06 is 152k like u said but the fully loaded gt3 is over 200k and that just msrp I’m not even going to talk about markups but the likelihood of you touching a gt3 for under 200k is slim so the z06 still sounds like a bargain to me
@@randydavis1943 The base Z06 isnt going to put down lap times anywhere close to a base GT3. For that you're going to need the areo, suspension, tires of the Z07 package that makes the Z06 a Z06 especially when the C8 Stingray is 9 secs slower than the C6 Z06 at Nurburgring not to mention the base Z06 is bland looking.
You're also assuming markups won't be a thing on the Z06 but I've seen emails from dealers to ppl on waiting lists saying that if they wanted one of the dealers allocations it'd be $100k markup.
I don't care for the Z07 package. So, my built will come somewhere under $150k, with the options I want. But the pricing of the Z06 does not surprise me. I expected that. A rear engine car with nearly 700hp will not come cheap. But Chevy still managed to keep the pricing of the car under $150k...which is good.
For the most powerful NA v8 ever it's a steal honestly. Hopefully it's competitive against a gt3rs on the track too.
@@amazin7006
It's a steal, even if it weren't the most powerful NA v8 ever. Nowhere else can you find a mid or rear engine supercar (within the 600-700hp range) that starts under $120k. The fact that it is the most powerful NA v8 ever, is just a plus.
so how much is the exact price ... sorry my audio isnt working somehow
and i wanna import that to india
@@priyanshu3182
Starting price is around $106,395.00. Go for it, bro, if you can afford.
@@TheTmat007 plus 100% import tax on that so 250 k for the vette
There is better cars for the money , at the end of the day you’re still driving a GM….
When I put down a deposit for the Z06 in 2020 I used the build module for a C7 Z06 to design the car I wanted. Then I used that price and guesstimated the cost of additional components that would be on the C8 Z06. My best guess back then was mid $140K. So taking that for a 2019 Z06 and adjusting for the value of the dollar, 2019 $1 is $1.16 in 2022, is $168K. I priced out my 3LZ HTC Z06 w/ Z07 and it is $166K. So why is the C7 Z06 priced ok and the C8 Z06 is not? IMHO the C8 Z06 is significantly more innovative.
What additional components? A supercharger delete? I think you mean additional options. Mine is a Z07, CF interior, CF areo, 3LZ MSRP was 104k but the new car is 152k. Only additional options boxes to be marked available from Chevy on the C8 that weren't on the C7 are the CF wing & wheels. And compare a 152k Z06 to a 911 gt3 for 161k & is it really a bargain?
I think 106k is great for the Z06. Don’t judge the car before you drive it, hear it ect..have a good day
They could have made the 2lt start at 106 I think would be perfect.
@@bheyward11 agree
Its 106k without the Z07 package or 140-150k with it & the car is bland looking without it.
@@gsxr1189 that’s your opinion about the “bland looking”. In my opinion, I’m going to wait to actually see different variants in person. Also my opinion is the car looks great with or without z07 package, last thing that the Z07 package it’s that it’s not about looks, it’s a track package that adds downforce but I get your point and respect your opinion, have a good day dude:)
@@rhighlandk Fair enough & I respect your opinion too but I think most people find increased areo packages on track oriented vehicles better looking. So I wouldn't say that it's just my opinion. Have a good day as well.
So much money still can't beat a hell cat
Idk..0-60 is in the 2 second range..
Seriously? The Z06 is designed for the track with current estimate of a sub 7 minute lap time at Nurburgring.
Tbh, we still don’t know because it’s not really out yet so nobody can upload races yet, and c8 z06 is lighter and way better/aggressive looking than hellcats, hands down! Hellcats are boats not saying that it’s bad but I think z06 is not meant competing against boats anymore now that it’s mid engine.
C8 stingrays are beating hellcats in the quarter mile, what do you think Z06 will do?
What do you mean a C8 Z06 "still" can't beat a Hellcat? C7 Z06's will put the stomp on Hellcats. Crap even E85 Mustang 5.0's will romp on Hellcats.
The Corvette is entirely unattainable thanks to dealer markups alone since 2020. I currently drive a Supra and have been saving money for the last 2 years to buy a c806 and I in no way shape or form imagined that it would be 120,000 for a 2 LZ. Me calling around the dealers most are wanting 30 to $50,000 markups on their Corvette allocations. I'm thoroughly disgusted with GM and I guess I'll just slap a pure 850 turbo on my Supra and run 9 seconds around the z06 is all day
I know its high but still way less than buying a lambo so stop crying i still buy a vette Chevy wins all races corvette is all ways comming in first chevy rocks im a die hard corvette and camero guy
I'm a Z06 owner & to be fair 152k for the Z06 vs 161k for a 911 GT3.
GM Screwed up. They should spun the Corvette brand into it's own division. Manufacture several models including mid-engine and front engine, not unlike Ferrari. Corvette California (front engine) Corvette Z06, Exclusive V12 Corvette Zora. Make them in Fiberglass, Aluminum and Carbon Fiber. As it is, who would want to pay upwards of $150K on a car that most people can't distinguish from the entry model?
