Lance is probably my 2nd favorite weapon after CB, its a back n' forth between it and Swaxe. The dopamine release on counter clutching is real! I hope Wilds brings something like the counter clutch because its too good to be left in World only.
As a lance main, this is how I learned to play cb: Start of the hunt: - charge slash - charge shield - charge slash - charge sword - guard point > AED When monster is not moving - SAED When monster is toppled - Savage axe In between: - charge slash for small openings - guard point > AED for medium openings I guess the key thing I noticed when watching speedruns is the amount of time they spend 'building up' or 'setting up'. Lance just go in and start poking Cb goes in, sets up the shield, sets up the sword, sets up the savage axe, and fight It was an interesting change having to learn that initial patience And it is very fun to have a shield and also the ability to swing around my weapon

A lance playing should never be scared to walk into battle. Even if a monster is doing its Nova/special. Unless its safi’jiva then run. Why not fatalis? Well lance can be a blockade for his fire breath flamethrower. Still hide from nova tho.

I was going to ask how you managed to deal 500 damage with a thrust until I saw you get pushed back the "slag" from Kulve Taroth. Yes, I see. You may have Marathon Runner, but you probably don't have Guard 5. Cuz unless they changed something, it takes a lot more than Kulve to push back Guard 5 and Guard Up. If only Alatreon didn't have thw judgement, I'd have him roasting on a spit...
How are you doing the multiple perfect block in succession again the fire? Every time I try to counter something I just get the counter hit animation and get hit while doing that if it's a multiple hitting attack.

Yee i sacrificed some guard up for agitator/critical eye/ crit and attack boost but i think against kulve its worth it :)

Did you equip the perk Guard up? I think you need it to be abke to block that

I was doing the Counter Thrust attack, its kinda hard to get the timing down but once you have it, its easily performed :)
