@@jp888then right - this way nobody can steal my first position chords. Though anyone who wants to can help themselves to any barre chords further up the neck!
Great intro.. I do love me a pun or two 😁😁 New song on me. I must check out the original too now. Squeeze must have been big after I left the British Isles in 1986. They never made it big in the Iberian Peninsula, I guess. Though I did know "Cool 4 Cats" even if I couldn't have named the band that did it.
@@berniarmstrong sometimes I can’t resist a pun. As for Squeeze, I don’t think they were known outside the early 1980s or the UK. I really like them (they’re sort of 1980s Kinks) but they weren’t *that* big (with huge apologies to our host) - two UK no.2 hits and a no.4 hit.
Yes, you picked a good one, although I don't think there's a bad one in their catalog. You did it so well that I'm tempted to try it too (but I won't).
@@Renaissance-Man-Ukulele yeah, a lot of really good songs. Although by the theme there are other options, another Squeeze song is likely from me. You picked one of my favourites!
@@limousinlil thanks. For what it’s worth, I don’t recommend the key of B (mostly - it drifts about) in standard tuning (which it is). Though the next one is in Eb. I might change that!
I’m glad you were tempted to play this great song Mitch for this Season. It had to be here this week, awkward key or not! Thanks!
Thanks - it’s a terrific song! Thanks for hosting and the theme.
aaahhhhh, this one! didn't get it til the chorus! Paul Carrack!!!!! nice work w/ this one Mitch, love the song
@@singtomeofautumnleaves thanks! It’s a great song!
It’s a great song and Paul Carrack is a Sheffield lad if memory serves me correctly. Good one Paul.
Thanks - I’d forgotten that! Paul Carrack has obviously been successful, but I can’t help feeling he should have been much better known.
A bit funky. And in Beast Mode! 😅
@@MelTheUker you can’t beat Beast Mode!
You’ve employed “ the secret chord” ! Fun song.
