Fight The Good Fight | 2 Timothy 4:7 | Mornings With Mike

In this video I am sharing what it means to fight the good fight. So I share with you 2 Timothy 4:7. This is as Paul looked toward his coming death, he also looked back and gave three positive statements about his ministry. First, he declared confidence in his own efforts for the sake of Christ. Second, Paul stated that he has completed the mission he was given by God. Third, Paul writes that he has specifically held to the truth. He had an unwavering faith.
2 Timothy 4:7 (NLT)
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.”
This weekend I was reminded of unwavering faith and resilience. We can learn a lot from our kids. My daughter was competing in her first gymnastics meet of the year… we have literally waited all year for this. Even with the nervousness and not knowing what might happen. As parents, we reminded her she is prepared - and no matter what the outcome we are proud - just do your best, and finish strong. And I thought of this verse. Even pertaining to trials, frustration, or fear, it is important to have a deep faith in the face of all these things that push against us in our minds.
This verse is an affirmation of our unwavering faith and unyielding love. It serves as a reminder that the Christian life, really any life can be a struggle-within ourselves and in the world. Our battle is against principalities, against powers, against the darkness and frustration even as recently as today. As believers today, we can have no greater sense of fulfillment than to know, that we have fully accomplished all that the God has called us to do. Fulfill our destiny and win, for ourselves and for God.
