    How much money has the GOK spent "Upgrading" the "temporary structure" all these years 🤔

    • @DoviiForum
      @DoviiForum 2 месяца назад

      @@acholadennis3277 The GOK spoke of canvas that is still cheaper than actually making a new airport. He spoke of renovation but we all know that is a word used to camouflage the renovation would be at a cost of a new airport that's my first point the second is let's say if you actually do build a world class airport the cost of maintaining it would also be high. We are speaking millions here. I am an outsider but I do keep a close eye on the actions of world leaders. Hence my argument is very simple any world leader who wants to do good and sees a good deal with any investor for the people would negotiate a deal with the investors and then table the agreement of the deal before the people to get a final approval. When I say table the agreement of the deal I mean the terms and conditions are out before the others no secrets. It's the manner in which he is dealing with the whole thing is making me question his credibility and also have the feeling that there is a Chinese angel to it. As the number one criteria that the Chinese put forth in all these countries that are debt trapped for such packages are that the details of the deal can't be made public. And if corruption is part of your country's governance then the deal is further sweetened with added perks to the leaders to initiate the deal in their favour with a no disclosure about the deal to be made public from both sides. So basically China holds all details of the deal with them and later even uses it to get more contracts or threatens to make things public. so leaders and political parties have fallen in their trap and end up toeing the line and slowly slowly the get further into a debt they can't pay and since such debts are Sovereign guarantees it's completely legal on a global legal platform for china to take over these assets operations when the country can't pay back these heavy loans. Which is why the people of Kenya need to ask the real big question who are these investors and if the investors are even Kenyan does the company have any affiliation to China. When you dig further you will know the truth but then that does not surprise me one bit. So the moral of the story is cut your shirt in accordance to the cloth you have in hand don't over stretch yourself and then cry over spilt milk as that would be stupidity then. And if you are not aware about these deals I am aware of how the Chinese operate. The other criterias are all raw materials for the project would be sourced from China and not Kenya even the labour will come from China not Kenya. So for the lovely structure you build. The Kenyan business men don't profit neither does your youth get employed because of the project but all you are left with is a very heafty bill to pay in the form of emi and when you can't pay those bills which is almost certain then your government will try to negotiate the loans only for it to be legally and as your leader says strategically handed over to the Chinese or the Chinese backed entity to run on a lease for 100 years. Which is why I say if he is transparent ask him to table the details of the deal. Which I almost guarantee he won't😊

    No we don't need an investor to build an airport . We need to stop bleeding ourselves with corruption and build this nation for ourselves and our future generations. Indians messed up our refineries and railways in the name of private investor arrangements. Please we can do it in Africa ourselves . Let's not look down on ourselves. Look at what Egypt is doing across all its sectors . KDF have something they can do . Use them . Achana Na wahindi Na wageni wengine !!!

    With all the minerals, Wildlife/tourism, untapped oil, agriculture, fishing, lakes, rivers, oceans and mountains. Combined with all the educated people of kenya (architects, engineers etc.) you mean we can't build and maintain our own infrastructure with our own power. 😤😠 We don't need any foreign leasing/contractors. That's pathetic!!!

    Any investment which has chinese investment involved cant be a good investment. So ask him to define private sector. Otherwise what will happen is the airport which he calls a strategic asset will be strategically taken over by the Chinese 😂. They are doing this in many nations in africa kenya is no different. Ensure if any contract is given to a foreign investor they would have to source the resources to construct whatever from Kenya itself. Which includes raw materials and labour. Also ask the government to be transparent in the deal. Which means interest rates and other details of the deal would need to be made public. See the state of Sri Lanka, Pakistan and now I am guessing Laos too are in a debt trap set by the chinese. So you Kenyans need to be smart. This leader seems to be corrupt because if things were so transparent he wouldnt need to convince people of what he wanted to do. He would have made a good deal for the Kenyan people and put it on the table for all to go through the terms of agreement. People are smart enough to figure out if its good for them or not. You dont argue a point that some other african nation has a good airport and because they have a good airport you should have one na that doesnt make a good arguement. Create jobs for the youth, bring in foreign investment, invest a large chunk of your budget in education. Create more start ups to churn your economy ,increase your exports. You will have enough money to build not one but 10 airports. It shows that having a good leader helps a country and its people and having a bad leader would lead to poor choices. I feel sorry for the people of Kenya that you have to put up with inflation and high prices too. While someone decides they need to build an airport 😳 get your priorities right.

      Have facts right... the company in question is India based not Chinese.
      Yes, this guy is CORRUPT

    • @DoviiForum
      @DoviiForum 2 месяца назад

      @@BrianOdede it's not one company there are three in the race. If it's India you are dealing with you are in safe and transparent hands and if his intentions are to give it to the Indians he would have tabled the deal before the people. My sentiments are attached to the others that are in the race. The Chinese are known for bribing their way through hence be it china or India he loses nothing by having the details of the deal before the people made public. The secrecy makes me question his motive and hint of a Chinese involvement somewhere down the line.

      @@DoviiForumAdani is Indian not Chinese.

    • @DoviiForum
      @DoviiForum 2 месяца назад

      @@rodneyagesa1851 I agree Adani is not Chinese but the fact still remains that he hasn't tabled the terms of agreement to the people. That makes things fishy. Such deals take a U turn when it is supposed to reach its final end. Why I speak about Chinese here is the deal is still open on the contract with other players still present in the foray. India has never been a country to have two faces and wouldn't mind the terms of the deal being made public. It's him keeping things a secret is what raises my suspicions of a Chinese hand. So what I feel is he is trying to bargain on who gives him a better offer. In the mean time he is trying to convince the people that they absolutely need a high class airport. As they say make me an offer I cannot refuse and there goes the strategic assets lo and behold. He is a corrupt leader sitting at the helm of Kenyan power. If as he says for 7 years they have been using canvas which clearly means that Kenya didn't have the necessary funds to build a new airport. Now for argument sake if we are to understand that Kenya today has the necessary funds to build the so called airport, which again is not true but let's assume they do then too why seek foreign investment in the project. It all goes to say the finances of the country has not been fixed or improved, so taking on an additional project will only debt burden the Kenyan economy. It's not that have a new airport will have more flights land there. There will still be the same number of flights landing as the number of flights landing on the canvas roofing one as of today. So adding another terminal etc etc is not going to bring in more revenue for the people of Kenya. The revenue the airport would generate would be the same so if for 7 years Kenya couldn't build an airport because of funds, if today an airport is to be built who is going to pay for it because the funds earned would amount to the same as the one earned on the canvas one. So basically it wouldn't be a sustainable investment. As the amount the airport would be earning in revenue would still be the same. So don't build an airport just because Ethiopia or some other nations has done so. Do it when you have the means to pay for it yourself. And if you have the means to pay for it yourself then ensure that projects even if given to foreign players it should come with terms and conditions to benifit the Kenyan business community to resource raw materials, the labour to create jobs etc. It should be Kenya first before all that should be the motive. It's high time you Kenyans smarten up your act and don't fall prey, go through the deals minutely and avoid any deals which are made out of " sovereign guarantees " if you want to know more about that you can google it. Avoid such deals they lead to being trapped financially and what happens is other nations can't come to your rescue even if you cry foul. Don't exceed your lending capabilities, the more loans you take the more inflation your people would have to face. Prices of things would rise.
