The novel is a masterpiece. I love the anime adaptations, but when you read the book, lines hit so hard, you get to to stop and try to breathe. Dazai was/ is so relatable in every society, no matter the year.

I had finished junji ito’s manga take on that story and even though I haven’t read it yet, I can agree. From what I’ve seen online the best way to experience the story is to read the actual book.

When I was learning a certain piano piece, I kept thinking of this anime, these scenes... And the time is almost a perfect fit (2:57) with this AMV: ruclips.net/video/Re-eu9q_yUU/видео.html (Mendehlsson's Op. 30 no.6) I'm really amazed by how it fits the atmosphere here. Even the pacing. Thanks for uploading this, it's not an anime I'd rewatch but it definitely changed me.
